Both of my children were permanently injured by adverse reactions. We were then sent on a search to hunt down the "infection" that must have been causing the severe neurological symptoms coincidentally following their "well visits", instead of acknowledging the underlying main issue : an immune system destroyed by adjuvants (and possibly the antigens as well) and subsequent autoimmune disease. One size does not fit all, especially with injections that may alter your precious child's innate immune system. Please read, and research diligently. Like you read others say, there is an admin fee. I found it a bit strange, but ok fine. Then the day we went for our 1st visit, we waited 15 minutes outside and 1 hour inside the doctor room for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes wait. The doctor was un-engaged and did not ask thorough questions. I thought it was "whole child", so where are all the concerns about what he eats, drinks, plays, etc? Just a standard pedi, nothing special here. I called one day to ask a question of the doctor and told my question to the nurse. It's now been 1 months and have not heard back. The reason I give 2 stars, is that the doctor prescribed we give probiotics and cod liver oil. read more

I was recommended this ped by my midwife and have been coming here for almost three years since my first was a newborn. The office is clean, we have never waited longer than a few minutes, and have always been able to pop in for sick visits when needed. We primarily see a nurse practitioner, Michelle, who remembers our family, is extremely warm and friendly, and gives us as much time as we need to ask as many questions as we want. They err on the side of holistic, but prescribe antibiotics when necessary and work with us on a delayed vaccination schedule. We have recently moved just over an hour away, but will continue to come here, I am very happy bringing my babies here! read more

Just like J F. said, these negative reviews shock me as well. We have been with Dr. Rosen since 2010. Yes, he is hard to get an appointment with, because he is fantastic. Yes, there is an administrative fee, I wish they could see patients the way they do without it, but they need to stay in business. I like every doctor and nurse I've seen here. There were a few people who staffed the front desk that were not very nice, and now they are gone. I would rather try something natural before going to medicine and everyone in this office can help with that. They have great knowledge about healing the body with and without drugs. We have been going to WCC, for a little over four years now. I have 3 kids , and I absolutely love everyone there. Not only is Dr.Rosen AMAZING, but the staff is always so helpful. Anytime I show up with the 3 kids, they're always willing to help. Anytime I have a question or concern regarding my children's health , the doctors and nurses are very quick with returning my phone call. We also have never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen! My kids have never been on any antibiotics, and I'm grateful for that, and the work Dr.Rosen puts in. We also love, Rebecca Ganz, she is so helpful, extremely patient, and great at what she does! Some of the negative reviews here smack of the very 'entitlement' they're protesting. We've been with this practice almost since it's inception. My eleven year old daughter has severe autism and intractable, at times, life threatening epilepsy. Our family is VERY well versed in doctors, hospitals, nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and medical offices. We have been very happy with our experiences here and have received excellent care for our daughter. On several occasions she has needed care that was of a very serious nature and it was handled exceptionally well. The front staff here are very competent and when I call for an appointment, I sense they are doing a kind of 'triage' to determine which appointments need to take priority. That's fine by me. If someone's child has a more serious issue than mine at the moment, their child and their appt SHOULD take priority. The universe doesn't revolve around me and my child, unfortunately! To those who balk at the administrative fee, in my book it has been worth every penny. I recall when the admin fee was put in place a few years ago, that the doctors and NPs were able to spend even more time with us and our daughter at each appointment, which is why the fee was put into place - to increase length of appointments and quality of care. In other practices you can almost feel that insurance wheel spinning...get 'em in, get 'em out as fast as you can, cha-ching $$! We have never waited more than 15 minutes for a sick or well visit and the staff are always generous, kind and aware enough to whisk us into an exam room ASAP because of my daughter's severe behaviors. Sometimes we see a physician, other times we see a Nurse Practitioner. (And in our eleven years of experience, we've found that often times NPs know just as much if not more than some of the physicians we've seen...) If you're looking for a compassionate practice with an open view of things, where your input as a parent is actually listened to and even considered, a good mix of holistic and/or traditional care, look no further. If there was a negative amount of stars to give this shit hole I would. Such a disgusting place. It took me 7 months to write this review to cool down from my visit there! Came in with my newborn had my first visit with dr Lisa. Unprofessional trying to tell me my baby does not latch and offering her on the side bussinss as a lactating advisor. Giving me prices how much it would be for visits! Told me she is giving me a surgeons name to fix my babies lip tie! Told me to feed the baby 5 min on breast and not to feed it formula when I was trying to tell her I don't have that much milk to begin with because I have been pumping and know. She said formula is bad and not to give it to the baby! Checked babies butt and told me there is a crease in between and is giving me a prescription for a X-ray! It's like she was trying to make me believe all the bullshit she was saying about my baby was true. Went to a different pediatrician she told me there is nothing wrong with the baby no lip tie no butt problems the baby just discouraged because there is no milk coming out! I hate this place with a passion ! Dr Rosen is so wonderful! He is patient and kind and so sweet to our baby. He takes his time with us at each visit and answers all the questions nervous first time parents have. We switched to his practice (when we were on a waiting list) after a couple of visits with Tribeca - who pushed the sleep training on us at the baby's first visit!! Rosen offers a more natural solution to children's ailments, doesn't push an agenda, and I feel much more comfortable with asking him questions about vaccines and feeding! He responds quickly via their app which makes it so convenient! His office has a divider of sick and well kids. Yes he charges a yearly $150 fee but for the peace of mind to get questions answered so quickly - I say he's definitely worth the wait! THey also offer same day sick visits. They sell poofy organic products in the office which is so convenient but they doesn't try to sell them! The products speak for themselves. read more

We have been taking our 6 children here for over 2 years. We cannot say enough great things about the doctors, nurses and desk staff. They ALL go above and beyond to make sure our family stays well. The doctors truly care about the entire family, not only the child being seen at the visit. We are always seen that day if someone is sick. The nurses are caring and always help if I call with a question. We even contact the doctors directly online if we need to. Many of my friends have just transferred to Whole Child Center and are so happy with the difference in care. Dr. Rosen is such an amazing doctor who has helped us so much. Never even got to make an appointment because of the office staff. They are extremely rude and gave me a problem when I asked about their famous "administrative fee." They were extremely hostile and told me that I was the hostile one and that there was "no place for me at their practice." All of this was said when they well know that I have an 8 month old who is suffering from extreme sleep deprivation, barely able to nap and waking up at night every 2-3 hours inconsolable. They turned my son away because I asked about their administrative fee. Do not waste your time or money. The booking/ check out receptionist I believe her name is gabby is so unpleasant it's hard to believe she was hired to work in a pediatrician office. Dr. Rosen is no longer accepting new patients which no one informed us of. We had appt's with dr. Lisa who we specifically requested to not be booked with her after a couple appt's. which Gabby( receptionist) agreed and understood but didn't follow thru with. In our last appointment she left in the middle of it as we still had unanswered questions and never came back. After 10 min I poked my head out and asked nurse if she was coming back bc we weren't done. She was supposed to get her but after 15 min we packed our bags and left. My daughter (1st child) is 7 months old so you could image how many questions I had. There are several other complaints I have but these 2 were the turning point for me. We have since switched to tenafly pediatric and it was the best decision we've made for her. The negative reviews SHOCK me so I felt I had to chime in, since I'm constantly talking about how wonderful The Whole Child Center is. We've been going here for almost 7 years now and I'm so, so happy. They seem to know more than the average doctor (and we've seen quite a few, as we've moved a few times since having children) While other doctors are pushing vaccines (even the BS flu shot and hep B) and offering prescriptions for every little thing, my experience here is that doctors and nurses spend a great deal of time with you answering questions, and coming up with solutions. Dr Rosen has carefully studied both sides of the "vaccine issue" and offers a safer schedule, for example, I know of NO doctor that recommends the MMR a little bit later and then a titer blood test to see if the kid has immunity after the first shot. (I'm sure they're out there but people I talk to don't know such a test exists) MY KID DIDN'T NEED THE BOOSTER!! These doctors KNOW and TELL YOU that you can use certain oils to help your child feel better, that there are supplements and natural remedies that help tremendously, that acetaminophen is NOT a good choice if your child is sick, or that illness can from a food sensitivity (NO MORE STOMACH ACHES!!) ... again, they WILL recommend the right treatment, prescription, anti-biotic as needed but it's not their first go-to. All this and I SWEAR I've never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. They don't over-book and rush you out! The nurses are SO SWEET and knowledgeable and know us by name. I couldn't be happier. If you're considering the Whole Child Center, call them, meet them, take a tour.. that's how I found them and fell in love with the office and staff. and I know I'm starting to sound like a commercial but I really do love this office that much, I'm so grateful. read more

I take my three children there, and every doctor is nice, every staff member makes every effort to accommodate. They can't always give me exactly what I want, but that is life, right? Both of my children have been patients of Dr. Rosen for approximately 8 years. I have to say, I'm really confused and shocked about the negative reviews that have been written. I have never once experienced being rushed by anyone in this office. Not by any office staff, not by any nurse, not by any doctor. I was always made to feel that I could ask as many questions as I wanted and that no question was a stupid question. I also have never once ever waited more than five minutes in the waiting room and never more than 5 minutes in the actual exam room. I have never experienced a rude attitude from anyone in this office. The staff are all very nice, respectful, encouraging, supportive people who truly care about the well being of my children. The doctors have always done thorough physical examinations as well as asked many questions with regards to other areas of their lives. As for the "fee" they now charge, here's how I feel about it. Is it annoying, especially when you can go to any other pediatrician and pay no fee? Sure. I personally have to pay $250 annually because I have two children. Here's how I justify it. I look at it as, my husband and I are quick to spend that amount on a nice dinner out for the two of us. Why wouldn't we invest that in the health of our children? There are soooo many pros to The Whole Child office. 1) I never wait to be seen, practically am called right in after I check in, 2) Dr Rosen allots more time on a well visit than the average pediatrician, therefore, I'm never rushed, can ask as many questions as I please, 3) No other pediatrician's office in this area has the knowledge in natural healing that this office has, 4) they sell a decent amount of the natural products, therefore, saving me an additional trip to a pharmacy/health store with my sick child, 5) they offer additional amenities such as yoga (which I utilize), reiki, massages, etc. So many pros to be a "member" of this practice! My experience with this practice was absolutely horrible! You will see a nurse practitioner, a medical assistant, but you will Never see a doctor. One of the reasons why we are now switching pediatricians was an exceptionally rude and arrogant front desk staff. All of them need some major etiquette training on customer service and patient care.Those women at the front desk have the worst attitude that I have ever come across. We have been with Dr. Rosen since he and Karen were with Old Tappan Pediatrics almost ten years ago. We moved practices with them and have been so happy we did. We have always felt like each of the doctors, nurses and the nurse practitioner within the practice have been thorough, caring and very good. And have actually followed up if i needed to see a specialist, etc. The ladies taking appointments and doing billing are very nice. I find that you get what you give sometimes. Some of these people should think about what their own review would say before you bash an office that is filled with rational people just trying to help you and stay organized while they do so. Like I said, I have known this group for nearly ten years, and I have four kids. So I've seen them quite a bit. I am yet to have a bad experience, they are not perfect, they are human - but they are pretty darn great. They charge an "administrative fee" of $150 every year. I was told they accepted my child's insurance when I initially called so I payed the fee. When I went to make an appointment I was then told they didn't accept the particular insurance. I asked for a refund and was told they would. I only received half of the fee back. When I called to address the issue after going back and forth over the situation I was basically told "Sorry, the fee stands." While I'm sure they are good pediatricians I feel like this was shady business practices. Be cautious. read more

I chose this practice because I am a fan of holistic approaches and have a problem giving babies/toddlers/kids/even adults often a ton of medication. What I've found is lackluster care. The first well baby visit for my newborn was fine. It was with an NP. He's my second so I generally did t need much but a weight check. The next visit for my toddler was supposed to be a well visit plus a shot as we were new to the practice and I wanted to have a dr examine him. Call me crazy for wanting to meet an actual dr in the group. Emily is the gate keeper for every appt and regardless of what you request, she's going to give you what she thinks is best. Despite asking for a well visit, we had a shot only. Dr Karen came in to do what, I have no idea. Something about a dr popping in before a nurse gives the shot. Here's where it all started going south for me. She did not try to engage one bit with my son. It was so bizarre. It must be that if its not a proper visit they can charge dr rates, there's no point in trying? I've never seen a pediatrician do this. I decided to skip her from them on. Next well visit with my little one was with dr Jenny. It was pretty standard. Not a lot of small talk. The beginning of the end was trying to still schedule a well visit for my toddler. He hadn't had a check up in at least 8 months and I wanted him to be seen so they would full out his school paperwork. Instead of asking my former pediatrician to do it as emily said at least 3 times, I wanted them to do it. Driving to Astoria for the paperwork wasn't high on my list of things I have time for. First they tell me over and over my insurance won't cover it. They do actually. I also wanted to get my newborn back on the right schedule as we moved when he was 2 weeks old and while child couldn't see him until he was about 5 weeks. He was behind one standard well visit. They space them out for shots and milestone. Emily insisted my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Ok one moe time. Let me call and verify it does. It does. When I allows to explain that yes, isn't this great it is covered (even though I said I had no issue paying out of pocket for it) I get to the real issue. They will not schedule a dr's visit unless its on their one schedule fits every child list. I have also never had so much talk about what MY insurance will pay and what they won't. You think they care? No it's a cover for their spreading their actual MDs really thin. Even asking Emily to ask the dr too confirm something was like pulling teeth. No thanks. I've used "concierge" care for me that comes with a fee. It's a guilty privilege because I get a clean office and the nicest staff ever. There is no upside to paying their fee. The staff is really crap. They openly talk about other parents in a snotty way behind the very open desk. Access to care is poor. I should have noted all these red flags. Too bad bc what they tout is how we parent. I found another pediatrician who is def not on the same page with everything I am but we spend time TALKING and came up with a plan that we can both agree with. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID! GROSS! DIRTY! RUDE! They SHOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS DEALING with children. We received conflicting advice from one visit to the next. One of the doctors told us that the other person who saw my week-old child, didn't know what she was doing (that's comforting). The front waiting room has this disgusting, grossness about it. My wife and I preferred to stand while we waited for our visit. The waiting chairs are clearly soiled and stained with bio. You can see the discolored fabric from, what looks like, years of grossness. Finally, the front office staff... couldn't care less about people. They have this rehearsed script of how and why they can't help you. They're even particularly rude about it, Gabby and the office manager in particular. I have been taking my children there for 5+ years and have observed and experienced this office since it was just Dr. Rosen and 1 other doctor until now. I cannot believe any of the negative reviews here and after having just been there the other day and witnessing some of the behavior of the parents in the waiting room, it finally hit me. The office has not changed - it has always been a peaceful place for us - Dr. Rosen and the other doctors and practitioners ARE great, thoughtful, patient and communicative. The staff is also GREAT -- what I have noticed over the years, is that as Dr. Rosen and his office have received more media attention, perhaps the clientele has changed - people seem more entitled, like they are special and expect to be treated uniquely. This is a DOCTOR's office. YOUR child is no more special than any other. For those who complain about the annual fee - again, I have been there almost since the beginning and there is history to this. Dr. Rosen has gone through various machinations dealing with insurance companies throughout the years - trying to get them to understand that the WCC is wholly different and the amount of time and comprehensiveness of their approach is not the same as a typical pediatrician's office - so that they could continue their model of treating patients -- but insurance companies don't care. If they are to continue their approach, they still have to pay the bills. I have no problem paying the annual fee - if you think it is expensive, see how expensive it is to be at a rushed Dr.s office with limited dialogue and consideration to anything beyond getting your kid in an out, rx with antibiotics/meds and their shots. The annual fee is a drop in the bucket compared to the additional co-pays, medicine costs and lost time due to run of the mill care (not to mention your child's health!!!). I fully support and love this office - those parents who truly support the doctors, the staff and the entire approach have far greater perspective on this than the complainers. Lastly, Dr. Rosen is our doctor of record for my boys - however, why would I DEMAND to see him every single time I step into the office? That is completely unreasonable (and unnecessary) on every level -- my children have received outstanding care from Dr. Jeney, Dr. Sheely, and Rebecca (nurse practitioner - made excellent emergency diagnosis on my child that was correct before any of his labs came back for Lyme Disease). The staff and clinicians here are great - they are all highly integrated in the knowledge of your child!!!! It saddens me to see poor reviews, but if these reviews will keep impatient and self-oriented folks away, then so be it. read more

This is an elite medical practice in an affluent area. You cannot join it unless you can afford to pay a yearly administrative fee: $150 for one child, $250 for two children, etc. This is spelled out under faq on the practice website. This is done to compensate the doctors for things that are not covered by insurance. It probably also weeds out those who are not serious about integrative medical care. A family may be veiwed as serious about it if they are willing to fork over that kind of cash. We were seen by one of Dr. Rosen's associates. She was competent and respectful. We only left the practice because we could not afford the fee on top of our insurance premiums. My kids are rarely sick, so to pay the admin. fee on top of the insurance premiums just wasn't doable. It was like paying cash for their yearly exams on top of having them paid for 100% by their insurance. That being said, if you have a good income, this is a good practice. The office staff isn't particularly friendly, but I go for the medical care. read more
