I attended a wedding on July 16, 2015. I have to say the view is phenomenal! The ballroom was beautiful and I love the fact that it had a balcony. It was hot that day so I didn't see a lot of people stepping out on the balcony. I do have to say they do not have parking, which we were made aware of by the bride and groom. Disappointing that such a great venue does not have parking for guests. The Hor'deveres were delicious as well as the entree. Being that it was an small intimate wedding the room looked huge. The use of dividers would have worked well for this party. Another thing I noticed is that coffee or tea was not served. I was disappointed that it was not served or even mentioned to any of us at the table. I was told from the bride and groom after the fact once they spoke to the event manager that it was located by the bar. I wish the waiters could have mentioned it while going around with the slice of cake. "If anyone would like a cup of coffee/tea it's located by the bar". We also felt slightly rushed towards the end. I understand everyone has to go home and it was a Thursday night but there's no need to start rushing us out. I felt like that was a tad bit unprofessional. read more

I came here for a friend's wedding and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the rooftop, which was quite lovely. The views are beautiful - you can see the water, the bridge and bits of downtown. There was even a pirate ship (or at least it looked like a pirate ship!) out in the water. The ceremony was right inside on the third floor, which was quite convenient. The first area inside had a dance floor and standing room. Adjacent to that was the dining area. The décor was rustic and charming with nice wood floors and exposed brick walls - very St. Augustine. There is beautiful, large staircase that goes all the way from the top floor (third floor) to the bottom. When the bride and groom made their exit, all the guests were able to line up and down along the staircase to see them off with bubbles, which was neat. Also, I found the staff was attentive and friendly. Perhaps the only negative would be dealing with parking in downtown St. Augustine. If you're attending an event here, make sure to give yourself an extra 20 minutes to find a spot so you're not scrambling at the last minute like I did :) . Overall a nice venue. read more

Our wedding at the white room could not be more perfect! Shannon is the absolute best coordinator! We enjoyed working with her so much, she's easy going, quick to respond, to the point, accommodating, and super friendly. She made our wedding day so perfect. We consider ourselves big "foodies" and we decided to go with their buffet option and couldn't be happier. Our guests couldn't say enough about how amazing the food was. Some highlights on our buffet were the beef tenderloin, crab cakes, butternut squash ravioli, and shrimp & grits, they were all delicious! We had so many guests tell us how pleasant and nice the staff was. We booked the Villa Blanca and the Grand Ballroom for 115 people and the space was perfect for the amount of guests we had. And the Villa Blanca is just drop dead gorgeous, the photos in that room look amazing! I could go on forever with how pleased we were with everything but seriously stop reading all these reviews and just book the White Room! They will not disappoint you!! read more

The White Room is absolutely amazing! Thank you Erin and Alan! My son and daughter-in-law were married here last weekend, and the experience from beginning to end was phenomenal! Our main event coordinator Erin promptly answered all emails and calls from all of us (bride, groom, and both sets of moms) in the months before. The day before the event, they made every concession to allow us to drop off our decor whenever was most convenient for us, so we could enjoy the rehearsal and dinner at Chatsworth Pub without feeling rushed or stressed. And the day of the wedding, lets just say WOW! Both Erin and Alan went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect, and that all of us were completely at ease. The ceremony in the Villa Blanca was absolutely gorgeous, and they made sure that all of the family that had to stay and take photos after the ceremony were provided drinks and amazing appetizers. Can you say Chicken Wellington bites, TO DIE FOR! The Grand Ballroom was all you could have dreamed, and the staff continued to go above and beyond, quick and friendly. All of the food was the talk of the town, and the "late night" burger sliders and fries were a great touch. The sparkler send off went off without a hitch, and was the perfect ending. All of our friends and family said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and the bride said it was the most magical night of her life! Couldn't have gone better! read more

We visited the white room on the 4th of July for dinner and fireworks. The issues were numerous --- but I have highlighted the key ones below: Limited Bar-tending Staff: We received complementary drink tickets, yeah! (that are only good for the first hour -- and really, why is this? Does it really make a difference if you give a free drink away at 7:30 vs. 9:30) But when we got to the bar area there was only one bar-tender and 35 people inline. We were early arrivals.....so we watched this line grow to close to 100 over the next few minutes (yes we counted). Finally a second bartender arrived to assist but the lines were still too long. No Kids Menu: When meeting with Megan I was told there would be a kids menu and that yes, this was a family event. So, we bought tickets for a 5 and 8 year old. When we sat at our table at 7:30 we noticed wait staff setting up the food area. I asked a waiter what was on the kids menu.....he told me chicken fingers, macaroni & cheese and applesauce. I reported back to the parents and they were pleased but asked if they could get something a little earlier then the 8:30 start time for dinner. When I asked Megan about this she said, bread was coming up and that the waiter was confused and there was no separate menu for children. There were only 3 or 4 other children at the event and I would not have classified this as family friendly. This clearly was an adult only evening. We bussed our own tables!: We received bread and salad and obviously had drinks from the bar. From 7:30 (when we got our drinks, dinner rolls and salad) until 8:30 when the buffet was ready --- not one staff member came by to clear away dirty dishes or glasses. When the buffet was ready and we headed up to get our plates my 79 yr old father stayed behind to clear the plates and empty glasses to a nearby table so that there would be room for our dinner plates! Buffet Line was Ridiculous: We were seated inside at table 20. So we were one of the first groups to realize dinner was ready. Lucky us. Once we got our food and went back to our table the line was even worse then the drink line. It wrapped around the inside area and out onto the outdoor terrace. It was difficult to enjoy our meal with 10-15 people around our table commenting on the food and complaining about the long waits. We heard one patron say, "I guess the White Room likes lines!" And I feel the need to mention there were 8 people working the buffet -- scooping out portions etc. I think a few of these staff members could have been working the room to clear plates and make guest more comfortable then ensuring appropriate portion size (i was given an ice cream scooper of mashed potatoes -- I have never seen this before!). We had been considering this location for my father's 80th birthday party but we have chosen another location because of this experience. You should definitely shop around before booking this location. read more

I chose The White Room for my destination wedding to St. Augustine through the web and a phone conversation. It was the first venue I clicked on and that was it! The view from the rooftop was spectacular and that's what first drew me. It made for a phenomenally beautiful sunset ceremony. The loft space, which we also had for the affair, was warm and inviting with its brick walls, french doors, columns, wood floors. My florist, Kristen Hendrix of A Happily Ever After Florist (reviewed separately) was easily able to transform this venue into one of elegance and romance given this great base. My guests are still raving about the food which was five star restaurant fare rather than catering hall food. Their set up and service was excellent as well. I'm not sure what other venues charge because, honestly, I didn't look any further but there is a fairly high minimum to pay whether you have 20 or 150 people. If you're on a budget and having a smaller wedding you might want to look for a place at which you just pay per head. But although my destination wedding dwindled to 50 by the end, the beauty, service, and food of The White Room was well worth it to me. My guests use the words - exquisite, magnificent, perfect - to describe my wedding! :)) I'd also like to review my wedding event planner, Meghan Berman, separately in this review. Fortunately, Meghan answered my inquiry and I felt an instant connection. I'm glad I went with my gut and started working with her. From start to finish she was a joy to work with. I never felt as if I were a bother and Meghan, ALWAYS pleasant and reassuring, handled every "problem" with ease and professionalism. She has a smile in her voice. Meghan even called me to let me know that I could reallocate funds to get "my money's worth'. She held my hand through it all and helped to make my wedding an awesome event! :) Get her if you can! read more

Just went to this venue for a wedding and would highly recommend it. Beautiful overlooking view of the ocean with large windows all along the walls giving natural sunlight. It has easy accessible bathrooms and bar area for guests. There's a long outside patio for guests to enjoy as well and a perfect size dance floor and area for a band. They also have a gorgeous chandelier in the middle of the room. Overall great venue!!! read more

I was unable to have my wedding at this venue due to their ridiculous policy that they do not let you book their venue from out of state. I am a saint Augustine native who now lives in Denver Colorado and I wanted to choose the white room as a venue for our wedding, however the rude girl in the weddings department told me that under no circumstances would I be able to rent their facility without physically flying to Florida to see it first. They did not care that I had seen the facility numerous times before and and I was told "the policy is the policy" when I asked to speak with management. At that point, I could have had my wedding planner go "see" the site that I already knew i wanted but I was already offended. I was highly disappointed in this venue and would definitely not recommend it to prospective brides, and less you want to spend outrageous quantities of money for minimal customer service. I, instead, had my fairytale wedding at the Casa Monica, which is yards away and a MUCH nicer location, and I am so glad I didn't use the White Room afterall! read more
