Families rave about the care their loved one receives from the loving staff. The in-house medical services are excellent. It's a very socially active community which the residents thrive on. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are tiled with zero-threshold shower stalls...nicer than my own at home! This is a private pay community (no Medicaid). I work at Ranson Ridge and many of the other staff members have been there with me since we opened. We are proud to be a part of such a wonderful place!

My father was there for only 2 weeks and fell 3 times, resulting in a fractured rib. His room was not cleaned within those 2 weeks and he was not seen by a physician (as required) until his second hospital visit. A paramedic called me to voice their concern about his level of care, when his sugar levels were 380. I called the complaint number to finally get management to act. Definitely find a better facility- there's a reason why there are empty rooms and no wait list.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this facility. It is severely understaffed. Three employees…read moreconfirmed that to us. My mother was there for 3 weeks and had to wait many times between 1 and 2 hours after she rang the call button to get the help she needed; with a couple times just over 2 hours. Management advised "they are in line with staffing levels of other facilities"; but that doesn't mean it's adequate. That's just not acceptable when patients need help. We expressed our concerns several times ti supervisors/managers but nothing changed. Also, the nurse would just hand you a cup of pills and not tell you what it was, and when asked, they actually said "I'm not sure - it's whatever is listed on your chart". That type of response is not good. It makes you think nobody is paying attention to anything. Also the food is bad. Many times my mother could not eat what was given due to it being so tough/hard that she couldn't cut it, or it would be something she was not allowed to have per her doctor's instructions. Her dietary restrictions were told to the staff, but nothing changed, so she would eat crackers or go hungry until a family member could bring something in. Meals frequently came at very late times (breakfast around 11am, lunches around 4pm and dinner s around 7pm or later). The schedule was never consistent. Lastly, the cleanliness was bad. The kitchen/community area on Azalea Lane hallway had mold and dead bugs in the sink the entire 3 week period and may still be there. The refrigerator was filthy and I noticed a puddle of urine by the tv that stayed there an entire day. The only positive thing was the PT and OT she received. The previous owners (Atrium) ran a much better facility and had plenty of help, but the new management or owners do not, based on our experience. Very sad. I hope things change at some point for the benefit of future patients. Hopefully they can get the help they need.

Most of the clients there were in dire need of care, where my mother was very high functioning in comparison. A referral of this nature isn't appropriate for someone who is new to hospice diagnosis, and is still working through information, and starting to improve, this seems like a set back. I know that it truly isn't, but it was our interpretation. Perhaps down the road we can revisit, but I feel like the best place is at home, surrounded by family, and fill in the gaps with private duty. Not leave the home again.

Also it's a beautiful place as well. My Mom had a spacious room and it is very nice room. Also the House Keeping, who kept her room clean in her wing. Cynthia Skinner, Social Worker, who made everything go smoothly and was dedicated. Tracy, who I'm happy to first see when I walk in. It's very nice environment and very comfortable place. Thank you for having us and making my Mom stay comfortable. We will miss all of you. Take care

He talks a good game but cannot get the PRN's and CNA's to take care of my mother in law to be professional and caring when my wife makes requests for her care. My wife gets push back from some not all of them. This is a private pay account and they treat her as a visitor in a 6K room a month which we view as my mother in laws house. She and anyone in this place should be treated by every member of the staff with care and dignity not as a case work. These residents are her for care. So to get to the rehab part of this review. When we first brought our family to this facilitythe rehab and care were phenomenal. We are now being told they will no longer help my mother in law with PT after the orthopedic doctor requested 6 more weeks. This is the same physical therapist when my mother in law returned to the facility where she fell and broke her hip and not long after that her shoulder, told my wife "There is no need to do therapy because she will continue to fall and eventually be in a wheel chair the rest of her life. This therapists name is John and I cannot believe he has more pull than an orthopedic doctor. He denied us one we appealed the decision and won and he has now denied care again. This is the saddest thing I have personally had to deal with. I can't get over how a care giver would not want to help an individual get better or maintain their mobility to the best of their ability. This place has very nice walls but after a look inside it is one of the worst thing we have ever done for our mother. Looking for another facility and it's not an easy thing to do but our family is worth it and this facility should be avoided at all costs! Rick Montgomery 305 N Academy St Lincolnton NC 28092

My experience with Saylor Physical Therapy has been extremely troubling, and I want others to be…read moreaware of what happened. The clinic collected $420 in copays from me for six visits that were denied by my health insurance because Saylor did not obtain the required preauthorization. BCBS explained that when a denial is caused by a provider's administrative error, the patient is not responsible for any charges or copays. My Explanation of Benefits statements confirm that I am responsible for $0 for these visits. Despite this, the clinic kept the money. I spoke with their office manager and explained the situation. She refused to refund the copays because she was adamant the clinic would be paid for those visits. I explained that even though BCBS refused to pay, they would still receive payment from Geico for those visits since it was a personal injury claim. She still refused to refund the copays but said they would be refunded if they received payment from insurance. Later, Saylor Physical Therapy accepted payment in full from Geico for all six denied visits and still did not return my money. They have ignored every voicemail and email I've sent since then. There was also a seventh visit where they took my $70 copay, received payment from BCBS, and then accepted another payment in full from Geico for the same date of service. According to the information I received, they told Geico the visit had not been paid, even though BCBS had already paid the claim months earlier. They kept all three payments. This does not feel like a simple oversight -- it reflects a pattern of billing behavior that no patient should have to deal with. In total, Saylor Physical Therapy owes me $490 that I believe should be refunded, and they have refused to communicate or correct the issue. I have been left with no choice but to turn to the NC Department of Insurance and the NC Attorney General for assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking honest or professional treatment.
