Whether you are a dog owner, have children, like to walk/jog, partake in fitness activities or water activities, Ramsey Creek Park is the way to go! There is literally something for everyone! It is located in Cornelius, off of Nantz Road. Upon entering the park, you will find a variety of parking areas, some closer or further away from the water. Any parking area you choose will be a great walk to whatever activity you want to partake in. With that in view, there is plenty of parking available at just about anytime of the day. There are multiple trails available within the park, some that loop around back to the start, and some that cross over the main road within the park putting you on connected trails on the other side. Some trails are a little bit more rugged, whereas other trails are somewhat paved and not so rugged. There are tons of grilling stations, along with bench/table seating areas, for those that wish to grill out and have a great day. Plenty of restrooms are also available. During the summer, these areas are normally packed with people, enjoying the summer fun! Additionally, Ramsey Creek Park has a boat ramp from which you can leave/return or make a pitstop from another location on the water. Ramsey Creek Park is really a great destination, a hidden gem, in the Cornelius area! If you have an opportunity to visit the park, don't miss out on a variety of activities and fun for the entire family!

Simply magical! From the moment you walk through the gate your world warps into medieval times. I…read moredrove about an hour and a half and it was worth the drive! The event is so well decorated and transformed into this whimsical experience that around every corner there's something new to try. This was a solo trip for me and I had the best time. Lots of venders with cool one of a kind merchandise! And let me not start in on the food. The most expensive item I bought was the turkey leg at $19 and I nimble on it the entire time. It was so big until I had to throw away most of it. Bread bowls $10 , I got spinach artichoke bread bowl, very good. The beef stew one smelled delicious. A little disappointed the funnel cakes didn't come with topping, still crispy and good at $6. Sausage on a stick was good coming in at $7. Strawberry short cake was a little disappointing, reminiscent of an ice box cake grandma would use for Sunday dinner. You can only purchase 1 alcohol beverage at a time. Good selection of drafts. Overall everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. Definitely a family atmosphere. Will return next year, maybe with some friends this time.

WHY DID I WAIT SO MANY YEARS TO COME HERE!!!!…read more Wow, I had TOO much fun this year at the Carolina Renaissance Festival with a group of friends. We went on a Saturday around 11am and there was light traffic getting in, but it moved quickly and flowed smoothly. The parking situation was very organized and quick. The lot is massive but they have staff every step of the way so it was seamless. We walked a little ways to the entrance but everyone is in costume so the people watching started immediately and that was so fun! Before you even enter the gates to the festival they have some cool vendors out front. There was even the Tardis from Doctor Who and I lost my mind with excitement!!! I couldn't believe it!!! That encounter really set the pace for the rest of the day because I was on cloud 9 before we even entered the park!!!! Once we entered it was really like stepping back in time. The festival grounds were clean and the buildings looked in great shape. All the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. There's so much to see and eat. I thoroughly enjoyed a turkey leg, loaded baked potato, roasted pecans and pumpkin ale! Honestly, this was such a great time!!!! I cannot wait to go back next year. We left about 2:30 pm because we really had so much fun in such a short time. This worked out too because we completely avoided the traffic leaving. It was really a perfect trip! Soooooooooo much fun!!!!

The park is named in recognition of the devotion and service provided by the East Lincoln Rescue Squad and the citizens of Eastern Lincoln County who supported the Rescue Squad over the years. Rescue Squad Park includes a picnic shelter, two multi-purpose athletic fields, nine hole disk golf course, playground and is also the home of the Denver Farmer's Market (Saturdays 8am-12pm). A dog park is located towards the very back and right as you enter. A half mile walking trail around the park which I enjoyed today. The playground is in excellent condition and has a cover to provide some shade because otherwise it would be cooking in the sun. The massive picnic shelter is available for reservations at times not designated for recreation programs/public use. Reservations can be made for 2 hour blocks.
