I stayed at the westin last week for a wedding nearby. I stayed for 2 nights & 3 days. Pros: - fast & easy check in and out - provided space for bridal party to get ready - room seemed pretty modern - very nice bathroom, & i loved the full size shower gel - pool and gym, 24 hr access - spacious parking lot - across the street from Starbucks and a restaurant. By alot food places in general - have computers and printers available for use Cons: - The Lobby was always unbearably cold all the time - housekeeping left a note saying they came but neither beds were made & the towels that were used were taken and not replaced - menu for downstairs restaurant was limited & pricey - even though i booked with a room block, none of us were on the same floor which was kind of odd Overall the hotel serves it purpose of needing a room for whatever you're doing in the area. Stayed at the Westin Mount Laurel for a wedding. The discount provided for the block of rooms reserved was four dollars more expensive than my Bonvoy discount. Make that make sense???Overall the hotel was nice and clean and the bed was super comfy. Three stars for "Bob the Bartender" whom treated our bridal party like crap at the bar. He was unprofessional and curt and the Long Islands he mixed were beyond subpar. To make matters worse housekeeping barged through our room door at 10am w/o announcing herself. When asked what her name was of course she didn't understand English. I was baffled by the behavior of staff. We use this place for corporate meetings. We have switched a few times but ended up back here. Food is good here. Service is good here. The issue is the meeting space. A decent place to stay if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Cherry Hill/Mount Laurel area. Room was your standard hotel room with a view of the beautiful New Jersey roads. I wouldn't say come here for your honeymoon, but if you are looking for a hotel to stay in the area, this place will do. The only parking is on the side, or around the back of the hotel. This makes it quite odd, because unless you are being dropped off, you won't be coming in the front entrance, but rather the back door, which is pretty unceremonious. Service here was decent. We asked the host if we could get a really late check-out. 1pm was the latest he could do, anything else he'd have to charge us for. There was free lemon & orange water in the hallway across from the elevators. In the morning before we left, I checked out the breakfast buffet, which was being offered at around $20. I didn't partake, but just by looking at it, wasn't worth the price. They had some hot foods, but it was really just a continental breakfast with some hot foods in serving trays. I was only here very briefly, but for what I needed it to be (a clean place to stay and sleep), it worked. If I ever needed to stay in the Mount Laurel/Cherry Hill area, I'd consider this place. read more

Really nice looking hotel, in the midst of many hotels. The only other hotel I would stay would be Aloft. Most of the the characteristics of this hotel was on point, just a few things that I feel weren't accommodating. The shower isn't practical for women of color. It falls from the top like a waterfall and shoots right at you like a sprinkler. It doesn't do both at the same time, thank goodness, cause that would be assault but neither particularly work for short women of color, unless they are wearing a shower cap or don't care if their hair gets wet. The bed wasn't really comfortable at all. I couldn't really get comfortable like I wanted/expected but according to Fitbit, I slept some of the best sleep I've had in a while, my app said but I didn't want to go back to sleep, even though I woke up at 7am. Not because I was alert and ready to go but because the bed was lumpy and lacked support. It was 75 in the room (although it felt cooler) but I was trying to get it to 65 so that I could sleep well. When I woke up, it was still 75 (although it felt like 70) even though it showed that it was set to be 65. My drinks the night before was good and smelt amazing. So much that I didn't finish the last drink til the morning and the scent of it might have helped me sleep. It was a treat to wake up to. The bartenders were very attentive and helpful with drink suggestions and information. Breakfast was done pretty well. Like most places, there weren't any non-pork meats for breakfast. Actually, there was some smoked salmon that was pretty good. The food was so good and I was so hungry that I didn't take a photo of any of the 3 plates I consumed from the buffet. The place was pretty clean. I like the cleanliness of the room and the hallways. It smelled nice and not too heavy, other than the perfume this one lady was wearing. I would definitely stay here over many of the other places but I would search for a more comfortable bed before coming back. Also, I hate tucked in sheets and blankets. I'm 6'4". The rooms were very clean, and the service was good overall. We stayed for my granddaughter's wedding and used one of the bridal suites for hair, makeup, and for the bridesmaids to get dressed. The suite also served as a waiting area while we waited for the limo to take the bridal party to the venue. My granddaughter's fiancé surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which he paid $130 for and had delivered to the suite. In addition, the girls had water bottles and other items with them. We were also given complimentary shampoo and hairspray from the salon that did our hair and makeup. To our dismay, when we returned after the wedding, the staff had cleaned the bridal suite and thrown away the bouquet, as well as the water bottles, shampoo, hairspray, and other items left in the room. While I understand we had left the room, we had paid to rent it for the entire day, and many members of the bridal party were staying at the hotel, as we had booked a block of rooms. I believe we should have been notified about the items left behind, or they should have been set aside for us to collect when we returned that evening or the next morning. I was very disappointed by this oversight, especially from what is typically a well run establishment. read more

Housekeeping, on the other hand, was not what we expect from a Westin hotel. The beddings were wrinkled when we first got in, and everyday when they refreshed the room, the beds did not look fresh and crisp as they should. I had the opportunity to stay here on Christmas Eve while in town, visiting family. A family member booked the rooms and I was very pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the breakfast buffet (on Christmas Day) was hot and delicious. Everyone working on this holiday was incredibly gracious and kind. I would recommend the Westin Mt Laurel to anyone visiting S Jersey for business or pleasure. It's the room that's the issue: it's got obvious signs deteriorating on the ceiling and window, shower curtains aren't long enough to keep the bathroom from flooding, couch pillow had a dark red stain, and the door having a big enough gap for me to hear everybody that walked by. I only chose to book with Westin Mount Laurel for the hot tub - as my mother's Christmas gift. She is in severe pain from terrible spine, hip, and rheumatoid arthritis conditions and is walking with a cane. I, too, suffer from RA and have recent injuries. We planned to relax and use the hot tub often. We couldn't use the hot tub. You could not see the bottom of the hot tub or pool due to cloudy, unsanitary, and unbalanced water. They drained both on Wednesday. The hot tub reopened late on Wednesday while the pool was filling. It was lukewarm. When we turned on the jets, a burst of cold, cloudy water was observed, which told us that the lines were not fully purged and that there was a possible cross-connection to the pool. Lots of grout is missing, a harbor for bacteria, and walls are saturated with moisture. On top of that, our showers were lukewarm at best, and the carpets were wreaked of toxic carpet cleaner. We asked housekeeping not to enter our room and they did anyway. The accessible outdoor walkway was covered with wet leaves and cigarette butts - a hazard for my mother with her cane and any wheelchair user. I attempted to get help from Expedia, and when they called the hotel, manager Ali and his staff lied to them about the hot tub being closed. read more

If you are in the area and need are in need of a hotel, I do not recommend this location. We flew into town for a wedding and had to choose this location for a block. The elevator was down so everyone had to use the freight elevator, so this was the biggest issue. They would not even let anyone use the stairs to make it easier! The price was also ridiculously expensive for how out of date this hotel was. I was not happy with this overpriced experience. It would be worth the $300 a night if it was more modern and cleaned. The location was phenomenal, but I would have preferred to drive a bit more. read more

The layout of the building is awkward and at first can be confusing on how to get to check in if not familiar with the facility. The staff upon check in was great! Very friendly and professional. The staff upon leaving wasn't as nice. I called to extend my checkout by one hour and the man on the phone was very rude. Also threatening to charge me for it more than the price I was first quoted. This was quite fine for a temporary stay. Nice lounge and meeting space with a restaurant. Staff was professional but relaxed. There's also a gym on site with an adequate amount of cardio machines with kettle bells adjacent to a pool and a jacuzzi. I'm unsure if the pool is heated as I didn't use it and was pretty much dominated by someones children. Staff is really on their game here, there was a family across the hall that was very loud and unruly late at night. Upon reporting it to the front desk, it was addressed immediately. I also appreciated the complimentary lavender oil on my pillow and in room tea snatchets and kcups. In case you need more, there's a Starbucks across the street. I was traveling for work and our company had secured a corporate rate for rooms. My room wasn't ready at check-in and it was roughly an hour wait before they could get someone to finish cleaning the room. The room itself was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was smaller than the photos showed, but was clean and well appointed. The only fault I had with the room was that the phone didn't work. The restaurant downstairs was closed so I used UberEats both days I was in town. The first day the desk attendant refused to let the driver come upstairs to deliver my meal. I called the hotel from my cell phone (room phone was out of order) and told them that I'd be having further deliveries and it wasn't an issue after that. Had we not gotten a corporate rate on the room the price wouldn't have been worth it. read more

A nice clean hotel in South Jersey! Actually one of the nicest in the area. I was in town for a speaking engagement and the organization I was speaking for made the reservation. I was pleasantly pleased due to the fact that I didn't pick this facility and it's proximity to food was spot on. The restaurants were all within walking distance. Millers ale house (across the street) Starbucks (across the street) Wal mart (across the highway) a two minute drive Bob Evans (next to wal mart) So as you can see there's a lot to do and see in the area. The Mall is about 5 miles away and there are plenty of other restaurants around the mall. The hotel itself is full of amenities. Coffee and water are in the room. They actually have a bathtub and shower in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and I used the gym. Overall everything was very nice and I will use this location in the future. read more

I attend a work seminar at the Westin in September. Pretty standard but the hotel also hosts weddings. There are huge ballrooms with chandeliers perfect for a wedding reception. The room was very comfortable and the bed! Forget about it! Nice! There were Starbucks keurig cups, really liked that. My job had contracted the hotel to also prepare meals for the weekend (breakfast, lunch & dinner). The food was very basic, I barely ate any of it. It was alright to nibble on but that's it. Though the inside of the hotel is nice the surrounding area wasn't too appealing for a wedding, busy roads and highways. Overall I liked the hotel and would stay again. read more

The Westin Mount Laurel is located a short hop off the interstate and is fairly convenient to find (for New Jersey standards, if you're coming from the South you have to make a funky left turn). However, they don't make it easy to find the lobby (there's a convention center entrance that seems like the lobby, but isn't), and that's where you realize there is no parking near the official lobby entrance. Wouldn't have bothered me too much if it wasn't 15 degrees outside and I had to run around with my luggage looking for parking. The check-in process was quick and efficient and the front desk staff was nice and professional. However, the room itself was tired, carpet didn't look the best, and the bedside power plugs weren't placed well enough that my adapter could fit in them (power plugs are built into the base of lamps). TV was fairly small and nothing to write home about, and bathroom was mediocre at best. Gym was small but usable, some of the weights were missing as well. I was offered free breakfast but didn't have a chance to try it. Will say that the breakfast area did look nice so that could definitely be a plus. read more

Would never have an event here again at this time unless there is a positive change to the Director of Sales/Events. Melanie made my team feel like she was doing us a favor by collecting our $25k while not doing her job. Not only did she not do her job, she pointed blame at the client. The banquet team from Ayad, Rodney, Al, and the other team members were amazing on event day even after Melanie changed the clients plans. The client was on the phone call when the Westin team called Melanie, just to hear and how Melanie deflected blame on the client versus herself as making a mistake. Sadly, speaking to Aneesh the GM at the hotel who felt she is the best he has worked with even though the turnover rate is high in her department. He defended her as she lied about her client even though the client was competent and had all email correspondents documented. I am the client in this situation. It is unacceptable! My family and I booked about 10 rooms for our 3-4 night stay and everyone were disappointed with the poor room conditions and the lack of service. This Westin is in dire need of a renovation. I've come to Mt. Laurel several times over the past few years and usually stay at the Hilton properties down the street (there is a DoubleTree a few doors down). After several unsatisfactory stays at other Hilton properties I have been checking out Starwood properties. Suffice it that I do not have many Starpoints and am only at the Preferred Level. I stayed at this Westin for two consecutive weeks. The first week I stayed here I was put on a Preferred Guest Floor. This floor was average at best and not what I was expecting from a member's only premium floor. This guest room was clean even though the wooden furniture (the desk and dresser) had scratch marks on them. The room view was ok and of the parking lot in back. The second week I stayed here I was not put on a Preferred Guest Floor. This floor was really torn up. The light fixtures in the floor hallway were hanging off the wall, the wall paper was peeling badly, and the carpeting was filthy. The actual room was much worse. The wooden furniture again was chipped and scratched badly, there was a huge crack in the mirror, several of the light bulbs were blown out or the light just didn't work, and the bathroom sink was clogged. The view from this room was terrible and of the main road out front. I will not be returning to this location. The DoubleTree is a much nicer hotel and only a few feet from this Westin. read more

Stayed here this weekend for a wedding. Have been to many Westins and this was the worst one. I am a Starwoods member. Carpet in room was SOAKING wet in a large area. Carpet was filthy. No sheer curtain so that you could let in light to this very dark room. Toilet seat was barely attached. TV was small Complimentary lemon water in lobby was vile. Everyone who took a cup spit it out. Called ahead TWICE to ask for early CHECKIN since we needed to get ready for a wedding. Was told "no promises, I'll make a note". Well, that won't work. Requested an hour later checkout and was denied even though I'm a Starwood member. An hour,really? Paid $170/night for a dark,dirty,wet room and poor service. read more

While the staff here does their best to accommodate guests, the hotel is run down at best. Everything from the gym equipment (treadmills) to sheets on bed with no elasticity left in them (think sleeping on bare mattress by morning time). I'm a lifetime Platinum with Marriott. I used points (which was well earned, mind you!) for this stay. I always ask for a high floor and more pillows. I got the 3rd floor, right next to the ice machine and elevator. The hotel room was dirty and obviously their "free" room! When I checked in, the girl didn't thank me for my Platinum status and did not ask me if I wanted points or free beverage. She never gave us vouchers for breakfast. It was a terrible experience!!! My kids just move there so I'll definitely be back and DEFINITELY NOT stay at this hotel! If this is how they treat their high-end patrons, imagine how they treat everyone else!!!
