Closet with hangers and ironing board and iron
    Kelly Y.

Had the pleasure of staying at Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel NJ recently and it was a nice experience. The hotel itself has a stylish outside design and the grounds are kept up well both in the front of the hotel and back where there was even an outdoor seating and a garden area. It is ideally located right off the NJ Turnpike but not so close that you see or hear any traffic. Check in was quick and the gentleman assisting us was extremely friendly, informative, and efficient. I regret forgetting his name to be able to say thank you on this review! Our standard room was quite spacious and equally neat/different design. It had additional amenities like a small fridge, ironing board, hair dryer, tea and coffee options, and safe. See photos taken. The room was very clean and when my sons turned on the TV it even had a welcome banner displayed with my name on it, cute idea! Beds were comfortable as was linens and pillows. The hotel has a bar, it is also attached to a Miller's Ale House Restaurant (which we did not get to try). Aloft also has a full gym which is open, breakfast to go options in the lobby, as well as complimentary ice bags for your room. The only thing not open currently was their indoor pool due to Covid restrictions. The hotel is located off a large main road that honestly has anything you could possibly need within a 10 minute drive. We saw all kinds of restaurants, dine in and take out, as well as tons of stores for shopping etc. There is even a Starbucks right next to the hotel you can walk over to or use the drive though. Aloft is in a very convenient location. Great hotel and a nice easy stopover experience for us. I would recommend this Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel and we would stay again!

    Absurd "closet"

How disappointing. I don't think I'll ever stay at an Aloft property again with how we were treated with Platinum status. Our loyalty means absolutely nothing here. Didn't acknowledge my Marriott Platinum status. Worst? When I asked what breakfast was offered to Platinum members, front desk attendant said "items for purchase"... I asked again, which items to go, then, were offered to Platinum members for breakfast. I was looked at and pointed at the items for purchase again. No upgrade either. "No smoking in the property"... stepped into the elevator to find it smelling worse than a club on a Saturday night, and of WEED! Makes you wonder what their "cleaning protocols" are during a pandemic with an elevator smelling like that in a "non-smoking" hotel. Once in the room, it reeked as well. A/C was completely off. It was dusty in random places. Shower gel wasn't even refilled when the room was "cleaned." Makes you wonder where else they cut corners in turning around rooms... The "closet" was a joke, sp for an apparent "wedding venue" or spot. Couldn't fully hang our gown/tux. Pillows were way too soft, no support at all, terrible neck pain and sleep. Only good thing was the TV, like a previous reviewer said. Sad, really. Were very happy to check-out and go home! Sad to say about a Marriott Bonvoy property...

I have to say ... I had an okay experience at this hotel compared to others. The staff that checked me in - Steve I believe - very friendly for a 10 pm checkin. Got to my room .. and had no issues .. I always check the room and clean myself but that's all me :). Room was nicely made up and appeared in food shape. I found the lighting a little weird -- all on/ off only worked at door but nothing to complain about Work up after a quiet sleep .. get ready and to the lobby to check out and grab coffee. Staff in am were also very friendly. If back in the area - I would stay here again. Thanks all at the Aloft!

    Nice accommodation for the weekend

We stayed here last weekend for a wedding. I liked the sleek, modern look of the hotel. It reminds me a bit of the W hotel due to the trendy decor. Check in was super easy and friendly. I loved that the staff person at the check in desk was so friendly and funny. There's also complimentary fruit water in the lobby which was refreshing. We had read on Yelp that the lower floors were loud due to the nightlife in the hotel and an ale house next door, so we requested a higher floor. We pleasantly were situated on the top floor and the room was super clean with a spacious bathroom and cool shower. Bliss products in the bathroom were nice. Housekeeping did a great job too. The bed was clean, comfortable and the pillows were large and fluffy. I slept great here. There was also an ironing board and iron in the room which was convenient to make sure we were freshly pressed for the wedding! Super convenient location right off the highway and very close to Cherry Hill Mall. My only slight complaints were that the bathroom did not have a fan and the in room coffee provided was not that great. Also, there was no coffee table or furniture other than a desk, so when we brought some food back to the room we had to get creative to sit down to eat it. However, redeeming factor: there's a Starbucks next door, so we opted to get coffee and food there. Overall, it was a nice hotel stay and we will look forward to returning when visiting family in the area.

I was not expecting a 5 star room but I also wasn't expecting to see this in my bathroom. There was mold actually hanging from the light.

Stephen at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful when I checked in. They lobby seemed clean and they had snacks and drinks available to buy. I wasn't expecting my room to be a 5 star experience but I also wasn't expecting to be grossed out by my bathroom.

This is actually the floor showing between the rug tiles.

After we booked this hotel we were told it "could" be a party spot. Well in a Saturday night it was. Besides that and being a dirty scuffed up looking property, when we complain in check out the staff told us they were aware of the shanagins if the night before. However they also told us when they asked the individuals to stop they were spoken to rudely so gave up ???!!!!! After theee months of promising and then ignoring we did finally get a refund. Want to party it up? Go to the alof, want to sleep, go to another hotel.

This place was nice aesthetically. My biggest thing with hotels is cleanliness. I am so grossed out by hair so when I arrive, I am on high alert. Unfortunately, there were quite a few hairs seen in various places throughout our hotel room. Gross! I just can't even with hair from previous guests. It IS possible for this not to happen because I've been to plenty of clean hotels where there are none! Their wifi also sucked. It kept kicking me out without telling me it was kicking me out. So I had hulu on my phone and when I woke up, I had multiple messages from Verizon saying I was out of data and would be charged overages. What?! How?!? I was connected to hotel wifi. So I had to call Verizon to explain the situation. Afterwards I kept checking to see and one minute it would be connected and the next minute it wasn't, even though I was still present in the hotel. Besides, it isn't supposed to kick you out for like, 24 hours once you connect. I definitely wasn't there that long. It was not loud in our room. I see a lot of complaints about that. The bed was pretty comfortable. One of the nicest aspects of this hotel is that when I asked for late check out, we were given until 1 pm! That was nice! Check in and check out went quickly and smoothly. Plenty of parking is available. There's a restaurant next door that you can walk to. They have complimentary spa water, I was excited to see they had some with lime and strawberries but my excitement quickly dissipated when I realized it just had that old, rancid lime flavor. So it obviously isn't changed out frequently enough. This hotel is ok if you need a quick overnight stay. Obviously no one is really coming here for an extended vacation. If I had to come for another wedding, I would give it another whirl. I wouldn't choose to come here on my own accord. But then again, I wouldn't really have a reason to. If people were looking at all hotels in the area, I would suggest looking for one with better reviews. I'm not sure what else is even available. This might be the best choice around here.

Like others stated this is a very European style hotel. This is OK for a single or couple but I would never stay here with more than two people or children. They try to be trendy with the decor but this place has a bit of a cheap feel to it. I felt like it is a cross between a hotel and a motel and I was expecting something higher end than what we got. Furniture is all made of cheap material. It looks much cheaper in person than in the photos. The rooms are very small with hardly any closet space and a very low bed. I have an Ikea bed at home and I think my Ikea bed is more comfortable than the bed we had here. And they are very stingy on the pillows. As for the bathroom there is little privacy. The shower has a glass wall and door. I get that they are trying to be trendy but if I were staying with anyone other than my boyfriend I would have been really bothered by others seeing my naked *ss in the shower. No locks on the bathroom with a pointless sliding glass door that I nearly stumbled into while trying to find a light. Our room was very dark at night. There are no lights on the nightstand and the built in light in the headboard wasn't working so it was really annoying trying to find the light switch by the door in pitch blackness. The heat and a/c for the rooms is a motel style a/c unit. It gets rather noisy while running and whenever it goes on it first blows out cool air and blows it to one side of the bed which I made the bf sleep on. When it is January we don't need something blowing out cool air. The lounge and bar downstairs is cute and trendy. I've had some work happy hours here. Overall I like this place for networking happy hours but am not a fan of the rooms.

I'm going to have to echo Ryan S.'s previous post. I had a similar experience with the nightlife. I would have given the place a 4th star if they had told me at the front desk that my room would be turning into a night club at midnight. They had a DJ playing music on the terrace from 4:00pm until 8:00pm to a light after work crowd. He then packed up and things quieted down after that, so I returned to my room and eventually went to sleep... until midnight... then the second shift of party-goers showed up, much louder than the previous ones. Laughter, clanking bottles, and loud conversations could be heard up until about 2:00am. A couple things not covered by previous posts: Pros: * Nice salt water pool (Splash). * Cheap. Paid $100 for the night. * Awesome bathroom and shower. * Cool magazines in the room (SPIN and WIRED). * WiFi speed was great. * Located right off the highway, easy to find. * Miami-style terrace. Cons: * No restaurant, but nice snack bar. Not many options within walking distance. * Overpriced drinks at the W XYZ bar ($7.00 Coronas). * AC unit was noisy. Could be a good thing since it drowned out the people down bellow. Definitely an interesting, clean, contemporary-style hotel at a decent rate. Worth checking out if you're staying on the "other" side of the hotel.

Is there a door or curtain on the bathroom for privacy?

In the King room I was in, the toilet and shower were in on room that you could close a full length mirror door on. Thus, leaving the sink and dressing area open for others to use.

Well this was a 3 night stay for us, so the review is reflected of this whole stay…read more A Friday to Monday stay which was also Memorial Day weekend. First the check in: I requested a 2:00 pm check in which is a hour earlier than the 3:00 pm posted time. I showed up at 2 and our room was ready. Check in was smooth and quick. The desk clerks were very nice. Our room: Seemed very clean. No problems at all. Didn't even find a stray hair. Bed was firm but not too hard. We didn't use housekeeping during our stay. So can't say anything here. The location did seem to attract some traveling school kids. I assume with sports teams. Of course you have kids you can have hallway talking and running. Of course this is not the fault of the property. Luckily this wasn't too bad. They found their rooms at a decent hour. Let's talk breakfast: Not bad at all. Each of the three days was a little different. Eggs, potatoes, French toast, waffles, bagels, pork sausages were all offered at one time or the other. All were hot. Let's talk about breakfast clean up. I witnessed the front desk folks cleaning up tables at the eating area. They did a great job with this, which allowed a lot of folks to roll through. The area: seemed safe and free of homeless or riff raff. Numerous places to eat, get gas or even shop at Walmart. So I do recommend this hotel and if back in the area would stay at again.

It breaks my heart to write this review being a fan of the brand generally, but I always believe in…read morebeing honest and so my honest review is merely a 2 star stay at this location. Keep in mind, this is only for a 2 day stay - and I'm thankful it's all I had lined up here. Something to also keep in mind is that I'm an incredibly easy 'customer' - I rarely ever complain like some others tend to do, even for the times I probably should. Normally I'd just dismiss it, but this time irritated me a little more than usual. The grounds are very nice and the location is very convenient. There are multiple hotels in the vicinity - some within walking distance - which makes the issues at this location baffling due to the competition all over the area. The first issue I had was the lack of hot water in the shower (the sink was fine). The first night, I had to run the water for over 10 minutes for the water to finally get warm enough (never fully as hot as I'd like it). The second night, I gave up after 20 minutes of no hot water. It was late and I didn't bother to complain, because I wasn't going to sit there while they tried to figure it out. I've never had this experience at any Courtyard or any other hotel before for that matter. Hell, I've stayed at seedy hotels and motels before (don't ask) and I never had this issue before. Keeping it on the subject of plumbing, the toilet was strange - sometimes you'd have to flush it twice. I guess it depended on whatever mood it was in and not the contents. It's one of those bathrooms where the sink is separated from the shower and toilet - I'm not a fan of that design, but it is what it is. Another issue I had were the horrible pillows. They really ought to have some variety, which includes offering firmer pillows. Three pillows and they were terrible. Three pillows and I can grab all three with one hand and still make a fist. I had to roll up the blanket to use as a pillow. I didn't sleep well either night I was there because of that. It's almost miraculous I didn't wake up with the sore neck I predicted I would. Yet another issue was the lack of turn down service - they never came into my room once during my 2 day stay and I was gone from the room for most of the days. Luckily I'm not a slob like other hotel guests are, so it was just a minimal issue to me and I still had enough towels. I just mention it to mention it. The mini fridge is really small (and had to be adjusted temp wise), so be strategic with whatever you choose to use it for - if at all. While some would complain about the "thin walls", it's more of the other hotels guests being loud, oblivious, weird, and rude and not the hotel's fault. They did put me in a room with an adjoining room - the guests on that side were a little loud, but once I blasted my TV they seemed to take the hint to pipe down a few notches. I didn't use any of the hotel amenities to comment on them. I didn't need the wifi, didn't bother with whatever "breakfast" they offered, didn't use the "fitness" room, or anything else. It was just in the room and out and nothing more. Everything was clean, though the lower outside of the tub had some marks on it that might make other guests complain. As mentioned, the grounds are nice and there was plenty of parking. Speaking of parking, they apparently charge a $10 daily parking fee for some reason - but mine was waved. A small bonus for the inconveniences of this stay, but to charge for parking here at all is a little strange. Most of the staff were acceptable. The two in the front I deal with were friendly. Some of the other staff however weren't friendly at all. I still plan to use Courtyard again - just not this location ever again. Hopefully this is not a trend and all others will start following the problems of this location, otherwise I might have to look for another brand to use altogether. Over a dozen hotels in the very immediate area and I chose the wrong one................this time.

No personal contact at all with any staff members. With this online life. I think company ratings will go down. How can you rate the staff if you don't meet or interact with any of them? But their on line service was excellent. Saying that may lose a few people their jobs sadly. The room was good even while the sofa had a huge rip in the sofa cushion. There was a tv in the sitting room and one in the bedroom. The full functional kitchen was nice. But the freezer did not have a automatic ice maker. When I went to get ice on my floor. The ice machine was emptied and off. There was an ice maker on floor 2. The gym was very clean and nice. The typical treadmills, two different type bikes, free weights and weight machine, a yoga mat. I was very surprised that there was no sanitizer. Luckily I had sanitizer wipes with me to wipe down what I wanted to use. My shower had very good pressure. Really good heat, beyond the typical ok heat that a hotel usually has. I never like when the sink is in the opposite room from the toilet. Not a fan of that set-up. They have a nice pool but I'm not sure it's heated. But it sure did look like it. I didn't get to use it as I was only their for one night. But I could see myself spending plenty time in it. Their breakfast was pretty good. Monday - Friday 6 -10am weekends 7 - 10a. I don't drink coffee but heard few say the coffee was not good. The cranberry and orange juice mixed I had was good. The scramble eggs, potatoes, sausage was really good. Plenty table space and tables for large groups if was eating together. Big TV over the fire place. Over all, this is a good hotel and definitely could be a 5 star hotel. But for me the lack of personal touch is a loss star for me. Others might like that part though. But this is my review

The room was spotless, well maintained and very comfortable. I stay here whenever I'm in the Philadelphia area, plan to stay there again, highly recommended.

Nice hotel not far from Philadelphia. At least that was the reason I stayed here…read more Plenty of parking and big lobby area as well. Nice staff and the breakfast was good as well. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There was also a decent gym too which is nice as I like to use the gym at some point. There's an indoor pool as well . I would definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Stay away!! Let me tell you why. I'll start by saying this stay was booked by my employer. I am a…read moreHilton Diamond member so, maybe my standards are higher but, for a Hilton property, too many little things that could have been avoided and are not typical of a Hilton property. When checking in there wasn't a luggage carrier available. When I asked the Fri t desk person she said 'guests usually don't return them to the checkin but, I did see one in the parking lot'. So, she KNEW there was one outside BUT, didn't go and get it to make it available. I had to go out in 95 degree temp to retrieve it. Poor. I checked in with my cat and told them I would not require housekeeping as I didn't want any issues. The very first morning housekeeping knocked on my door at 9am (I work until after midnight) waking me up. Clearly there isn't any communication between the desk and housekeeping. If I wasn't there, they would have come in and who knows what happens with my animal. I came down for breakfast (sit down and order taken and wasn't cheap). I sat for 10 mins and no one came to take my order. I had to go back to the desk and ask them if they could send a server to take my order. Mind you, I did hear them talking in the back kitchen area. Here is where it gets unacceptable. I took the prefer to go and, when I got to my room and removed the lid from my oj, there were fruit flies floating on it! One actually flew away. I was able to speak to the GM and let him know the whole story. I had then comp the food as I lost my appetite. I ran out of lotion in the bathroom on the 3rd day (I was staying just over a week) and asked the housekeepers in the hallway to refill it. Did that a few times and finally asked the front desk to tell them to do it as I was told there was a language barrier by the GM. Never happened. Poor. My last day I went down to get coffee (the one consistent good thing) and it wasn't there! Was told by the desk (same person from my checkin) that the GM decided they weren't offering free coffee anymore. A few things here. Being a corp location, that decision isn't his to make and, if you are having profit issues and think removing the free coffee is going to help you, it's time to rethink your leadership skills. I extended my stay, paid and when I returned at 1am from a long work day, my key didn't work. I had to walk all the way around to the front to have it reactivated. So, you'd think when I extended my stay they would set the key up to work properly. Nothing like having to make that walk at 1am in the rain. Last thing, I realized I had left some dress slacks in the drawer I called the next day and the person who I spoke to told me to call back the next morning. Terrible attitude and zero help. When I called the next morning, I was told there was a whole checklist in place that is followed so, it wound have been found when they cleaned the room. I asked if they could go and look as I was 100% positive I left them in the drawer. Never called me back and I'm sure they are still in the drawer. It was the lack of empathy that bothered me. My review is based on the service as I think the room was fine. The jacuzzi jets didn't work but, minor. Don't stay here if you are expecting a Hilton level of service. Just too many service issues that could/should have been avoided.
