I really really hate Aloft hotels. I seriously hope whatever "super hip and edgy" designer they hired has been fired for ruining an entire chain of hotels. Aloft one of Marriott's "modern" hotel lines (along with AC which is good). I've been at 3 Alofts because I like punishment apparently. So, what's wrong with Aloft? Look at the pictures. One is of the "closet". It's not a real closet. It can only hang 5 items because of the configuration. It has a shower curtain as a "door". And notice. NO DRAWERS. In fact, there are no drawers in the entire room. None. Everything is in the open. What modern person has essentially a non functioning closet and no drawers for anything? No one. That's who. Next is the edgy bathroom. This hotel is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Why you say? Look at the bedroom pic. That's a frosted window INTO THE SHOWER. See the shower pic to see the frosted window. How edgy that must be for a couple. Sure you can't see anything but you can see shadows. So do you want your kids trying to see if they can see mom in the shower? No of course you don't. Also, the shower section is barely lit so hopefully you can shower with your eyes closed in the dark. Finally, the materials are cheap and not well maintained. Everything is laminate fake wood and it's all peeling. And that's not just this one. It's been all 3. Plus plenty of other fit and finish stuff like the giant scuff on the wallpaper from the desk chair. Or the almost broken door lock. Oh and outlet placement is pretty terrible too at the desk. Now the good news is this hotel is next to a Millers. The wxyz bar is pretty good. And inside is a "high end" steak restaurant (not run by Marriott) which has a fantastic bar and terrible overpriced food (ok so that's not good news). I didn't interact with any staff so I don't know if they were amazing or not. Honestly, there are 20+ hotels in a 2 mile radius. Stay somewhere else. If you're Marriott, the Courtyard across the street is pretty good especially for the price. And if a manager reads this, don't reply back. Your best course of action is to find a better hotel to manage. read more

Very noisy. Was unable to sleep due to constant noise from the lobby bar area from patrons returning from wedding events. Management was not able to quiet things down. We were on the second floor and it was still too loud to sleep. We ended up leaving the hotel and finding a different hotel to stay in. Very disappointed. Room are very sparsely furnished. One chair. One bed. No artwork. That's it. Do not recommend. read more

When circumstances meant we couldn't sleep at home, this place was conveniently located, inexpensive, and had free parking. Pets stay free, so that was a bonus. Wifi was good for working remotely. Staff were nice. Room was clean. It's not a destination, but it fit my needs well. read more

Had the pleasure of staying at Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel NJ recently and it was a nice experience. The hotel itself has a stylish outside design and the grounds are kept up well both in the front of the hotel and back where there was even an outdoor seating and a garden area. It is ideally located right off the NJ Turnpike but not so close that you see or hear any traffic. Check in was quick and the gentleman assisting us was extremely friendly, informative, and efficient. I regret forgetting his name to be able to say thank you on this review! Our standard room was quite spacious and equally neat/different design. It had additional amenities like a small fridge, ironing board, hair dryer, tea and coffee options, and safe. See photos taken. The room was very clean and when my sons turned on the TV it even had a welcome banner displayed with my name on it, cute idea! Beds were comfortable as was linens and pillows. The hotel has a bar, it is also attached to a Miller's Ale House Restaurant (which we did not get to try). Aloft also has a full gym which is open, breakfast to go options in the lobby, as well as complimentary ice bags for your room. The only thing not open currently was their indoor pool due to Covid restrictions. The hotel is located off a large main road that honestly has anything you could possibly need within a 10 minute drive. We saw all kinds of restaurants, dine in and take out, as well as tons of stores for shopping etc. There is even a Starbucks right next to the hotel you can walk over to or use the drive though. Aloft is in a very convenient location. Great hotel and a nice easy stopover experience for us. I would recommend this Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel and we would stay again! read more

How disappointing. I don't think I'll ever stay at an Aloft property again with how we were treated with Platinum status. Our loyalty means absolutely nothing here. Didn't acknowledge my Marriott Platinum status. Worst? When I asked what breakfast was offered to Platinum members, front desk attendant said "items for purchase"... I asked again, which items to go, then, were offered to Platinum members for breakfast. I was looked at and pointed at the items for purchase again. No upgrade either. "No smoking in the property"... stepped into the elevator to find it smelling worse than a club on a Saturday night, and of WEED! Makes you wonder what their "cleaning protocols" are during a pandemic with an elevator smelling like that in a "non-smoking" hotel. Once in the room, it reeked as well. A/C was completely off. It was dusty in random places. Shower gel wasn't even refilled when the room was "cleaned." Makes you wonder where else they cut corners in turning around rooms... The "closet" was a joke, sp for an apparent "wedding venue" or spot. Couldn't fully hang our gown/tux. Pillows were way too soft, no support at all, terrible neck pain and sleep. When driving to Maryland for Thanksgiving, the weather turned very bad, and we decided to pull off for the night and stayed at Aloft Mount Laurel. The price was reasonable and I appreciate their pet-friendly policies, as we had our dog with us. However the room was pretty disappointing. This is a non-smoking property, but the room reeked of smoke. It was hard to tell if this is because a recent guest was smoking in the room or because the hotel just has not been renovated since it before it was a non-smoking hotel. Most of the room appeared pretty clean, but the toilet had noticeable p**p marks in the bowl. read more

Clean, Best bang for your buck, Modern-ish lobby decor, Comfy bed, Comfy pillows, Great Shower, Decent size flatscreen, Next to a Starbucks, Great energetic staff, Big outdoor patio, Indoor bar, Pool tables, Lots of drinks & snacks for sale, A ton of Luggage carts, Large parking lot, I highly recommend based off of my experience!!!!! I was here for one night only and it was the perfect hotel for this business trip. 1. Lobby- lots of nice couches & chairs, they have pool tables, they have a nice bar with tvs behind the bar, they have a wide selection for their snacks or drinks in the market area for sale. 2. Outside the lobby is a large private patio with patio furniture that looks great for sitting at night and chatting with additional guests (like a wedding party or a conference) 3. The front desk people were great and very energetic. And I don't hardly ever see that with front desk hotel people. No dull personalities or vanilla check ins. They seemed to like their job and offer helpful suggestions. And they were fun. The morning girl not so much but she was still pleasant and did her job well. The night crew was super lit and happy to be there which was infectious. ( I wasn't very excited to be staying in Princeton, New Jersey but they had the type of energy you'd expect in a more exciting city. No shade to Princeton, I've been here before and it's a nice town.) 4. The interior decor was modern 5. The room I had was perfect for me and this trip. Comfy bed, nice sized but not huge, flatscreen tv, shower was great, AC & and fan worked perfect and I prefer to set my room temperatures low (69), bathroom vanity was modern, good sized mirrors, decent sized mini fridge, plugs by bed, plugs by desk, good sized desk, I would've preferred a rolling chair but I lived. 6. All in all, I got what I needed. It wasn't the highest end hotel but I knew that when I booked it. Definitely everything I wanted and was nice. 7. Rooms needed repair. Wood was falling off the doors. Looked like the room had been painted over old damage. Room was dingy & filthy. Internet didn't work for the 2 days were stay so no TV. Floors were filthy. They at least gave use late check out till 2pm. read more

Stayed here for a few days for a friends wedding. Bed was comfy. Pillows were feather & soft. Thankfully there were multiple pillows available to get the right height for sleeping. Water pressure was excellent & got warm to hot quickly. Decor was decent. Room was clean. Bath products: dry bar!!! Oh my!! The body wash, soap, & lotion all amazing. I want more!!! Disappointed because in theory I should be able to purchase these items & yet I cannot. The website listed, "shopaloft.com" invalid. They don't have ice machines because they make too much noise & yet, people running up & down the hall, screaming, &/or listening to music loudly & there's nothing that can be done. You have to schedule cleaning the night/day before due to COVID. No more daily cleaning unless requested. I like that Netflix & Amazon are available to stream but they fail to mention you must have a subscription for these things. I do or I would have been salty for being misled. Wifi is free. Parking is free. Mini fridge in the room. No room service. No bathtub. Moderately priced. A/C & heater, controlled by modern thermostat but still one of those giant, noise making monstrosity things that sit on the floor. The desk to chair height is not a great ergonomic fit. I'm not a huge person, 5'8" & i was a bit uncomfortable sitting at the desk for long periods & the chair was not my favorite. Overall, I'm not offended but I think they could definitely step it up a bit. read more

I have to say ... I had an okay experience at this hotel compared to others. The staff that checked me in - Steve I believe - very friendly for a 10 pm checkin. Got to my room .. and had no issues .. I always check the room and clean myself but that's all me :). Room was nicely made up and appeared in food shape. I found the lighting a little weird -- all on/ off only worked at door but nothing to complain about Work up after a quiet sleep .. get ready and to the lobby to check out and grab coffee. This hotel is ALWAYS on point especially when they have "Lauren" running the front desk! I got here a little early and she checked me in with out a problem! I thought she would have to charge me but she was totally cool about it and understood! I usually stay at their sister hotel (Westin) across the street, but not no more! Update: over a month after I was verbally assaulted by the assistant general manager, the hotel has done nothing to rectify the issue. After speaking with several people on their staff, it is clear the management and staff are ill-equipped to run a hotel. I have asked for their legal teams information and it has yet to be provided. My lawyer will begin a lawsuit. They are grossly neglient and incompetent. read more

My husband and I toured so many hotels in 2019/2020 and the Aloft was by far the best suited for us. They were very easy to work with before the pandemic. We had everything all set and then covid happened. Again while we rescheduled the most exciting day of our lives, they did everything they could to help us be at ease. They even kept in touch through lockdown. Fast forward to this past couple months, we have been working so closely with Leigh. Close enough that i extended her an invite to my wedding! Leigh also put us in contact with Devyn who has been such a joy to work with! I cant say enough good things about the staff at this establishment. They have accommodated any and everything I've asked for so far! Our wedding is this coming Saturday, November 27th. To any future brides in the Mount Laurel area looking for a hotel, definitely stop here! They wont let you down. read more

We stayed here last weekend for a wedding. I liked the sleek, modern look of the hotel. It reminds me a bit of the W hotel due to the trendy decor. Check in was super easy and friendly. I loved that the staff person at the check in desk was so friendly and funny. There's also complimentary fruit water in the lobby which was refreshing. We had read on Yelp that the lower floors were loud due to the nightlife in the hotel and an ale house next door, so we requested a higher floor. We pleasantly were situated on the top floor and the room was super clean with a spacious bathroom and cool shower. Bliss products in the bathroom were nice. Housekeeping did a great job too. The bed was clean, comfortable and the pillows were large and fluffy. I slept great here. There was also an ironing board and iron in the room which was convenient to make sure we were freshly pressed for the wedding! Super convenient location right off the highway and very close to Cherry Hill Mall. My only slight complaints were that the bathroom did not have a fan and the in room coffee provided was not that great. Also, there was no coffee table or furniture other than a desk, so when we brought some food back to the room we had to get creative to sit down to eat it. However, redeeming factor: there's a Starbucks next door, so we opted to get coffee and food there. Overall, it was a nice hotel stay and we will look forward to returning when visiting family in the area. read more

Besides that and being a dirty scuffed up looking property, when we complain in check out the staff told us they were aware of the shanagins if the night before. However they also told us when they asked the individuals to stop they were spoken to rudely so gave up ???!!!!! After theee months of promising and then ignoring we did finally get a refund. This place was nice aesthetically. My biggest thing with hotels is cleanliness. I am so grossed out by hair so when I arrive, I am on high alert. Unfortunately, there were quite a few hairs seen in various places throughout our hotel room. Gross! I just can't even with hair from previous guests. It IS possible for this not to happen because I've been to plenty of clean hotels where there are none! Their wifi also sucked. It kept kicking me out without telling me it was kicking me out. So I had hulu on my phone and when I woke up, I had multiple messages from Verizon saying I was out of data and would be charged overages. What?! How?!? I was connected to hotel wifi. So I had to call Verizon to explain the situation. Afterwards I kept checking to see and one minute it would be connected and the next minute it wasn't, even though I was still present in the hotel. Besides, it isn't supposed to kick you out for like, 24 hours once you connect. I definitely wasn't there that long. It was not loud in our room. I see a lot of complaints about that. The bed was pretty comfortable. One of the nicest aspects of this hotel is that when I asked for late check out, we were given until 1 pm! That was nice! Check in and check out went quickly and smoothly. Plenty of parking is available. There's a restaurant next door that you can walk to. They have complimentary spa water, I was excited to see they had some with lime and strawberries but my excitement quickly dissipated when I realized it just had that old, rancid lime flavor. So it obviously isn't changed out frequently enough. This hotel is ok if you need a quick overnight stay. Obviously no one is really coming here for an extended vacation. If I had to come for another wedding, I would give it another whirl. I wouldn't choose to come here on my own accord. But then again, I wouldn't really have a reason to. If people were looking at all hotels in the area, I would suggest looking for one with better reviews. I'm not sure what else is even available. This might be the best choice around here. read more

Like others stated this is a very European style hotel. This is OK for a single or couple but I would never stay here with more than two people or children. They try to be trendy with the decor but this place has a bit of a cheap feel to it. I felt like it is a cross between a hotel and a motel and I was expecting something higher end than what we got. Furniture is all made of cheap material. It looks much cheaper in person than in the photos. The rooms are very small with hardly any closet space and a very low bed. I have an Ikea bed at home and I think my Ikea bed is more comfortable than the bed we had here. And they are very stingy on the pillows. As for the bathroom there is little privacy. The shower has a glass wall and door. I get that they are trying to be trendy but if I were staying with anyone other than my boyfriend I would have been really bothered by others seeing my naked *ss in the shower. No locks on the bathroom with a pointless sliding glass door that I nearly stumbled into while trying to find a light. Our room was very dark at night. There are no lights on the nightstand and the built in light in the headboard wasn't working so it was really annoying trying to find the light switch by the door in pitch blackness. The heat and a/c for the rooms is a motel style a/c unit. It gets rather noisy while running and whenever it goes on it first blows out cool air and blows it to one side of the bed which I made the bf sleep on. When it is January we don't need something blowing out cool air. The lounge and bar downstairs is cute and trendy. I've had some work happy hours here. Overall I like this place for networking happy hours but am not a fan of the rooms. read more

We've stayed in an Aloft before, and upon checking in here, that experience came rushing back to me. Aloft is designed to be super trendy and cool looking, I assume to appeal to a young, hip clientele. I think I may not be young or hip anymore. Many of my complaints the last time remained true, which I guess is no surprise since these hotels are all identical. -The furniture is cool looking but not that comfortable. -They only give you two towels. Seriously. Two towels for two adults. They're not even very nice towels. Small and thin. -The shower has no soap and there are dispensers on the wall in the shower with body wash and shampoo. There's no little bar of soap or other beauty products like shampoo. I don't like using products that I don't know, so would highly recommend bringing your own. -The bed is horrendously uncomfortable. Or maybe it's designed for people who are younger and don't have back problems. But good lord. -There was some weird gunk stuck on the carpet in our room. One thing I will say is that these rooms are designed for people of the plugged in age, so I do appreciate the numerous outlets and the free wifi. Overall, fine, passable, but not the most comfortable hotel we've ever stayed at. I think we will learn our lesson this time and probably not book with Aloft again. We value comfort over the cool factor. read more

I'm going to have to echo Ryan S.'s previous post. I had a similar experience with the nightlife. I would have given the place a 4th star if they had told me at the front desk that my room would be turning into a night club at midnight. They had a DJ playing music on the terrace from 4:00pm until 8:00pm to a light after work crowd. He then packed up and things quieted down after that, so I returned to my room and eventually went to sleep... until midnight... then the second shift of party-goers showed up, much louder than the previous ones. Laughter, clanking bottles, and loud conversations could be heard up until about 2:00am. A couple things not covered by previous posts: Pros: * Nice salt water pool (Splash). * Cheap. Paid $100 for the night. * Awesome bathroom and shower. * Cool magazines in the room (SPIN and WIRED). * WiFi speed was great. * Located right off the highway, easy to find. * Miami-style terrace. Cons: * No restaurant, but nice snack bar. Not many options within walking distance. * Overpriced drinks at the W XYZ bar ($7.00 Coronas). * AC unit was noisy. Could be a good thing since it drowned out the people down bellow. Definitely an interesting, clean, contemporary-style hotel at a decent rate. Worth checking out if you're staying on the "other" side of the hotel. read more

First! This place really has it down packed. From their decor, gym, pool, lighting to the way the room smells. It was fresh everyday I came back. I like the way the bed is placed with the TV raised, the restroom was just the right space for you. I even over heard a training that was going on next door to me... .very intense and management was very clear about how to make sure the room was spotless. I really liked that. I bounce back and forth between this Aloft and the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott when staying in the area. This stay at the Aloft has me favoring the Courtyard now. The Aloft concept is cool. It's a "millennial" hotel with a mixture of open spaces, industrial design, connectivity, sustainability and a sleek, modern look. This property is typical of Alofts, but there are some glaring issues here. It's nice to be able to say that the reception desk is staffed with friendly helpful people. Common areas are nice. The workout room is well equipped and clean, and the WXYZ lounge is kinda cool. However, as mentioned in other reviews the in-room air conditioning unit can be loud. Some other reviews commented that the beds were not comfortable, but I did not find that to be the case. Where the real problems is, though, especially for today's business guest, is in connectivity. Over a four-day stay we could not reliably connect to the internet. We mentioned this to the front desk several times with no real remediation. Over four days the internet was accessible for perhaps two hours total with Ookla verified speeds that were almost unusable. For today's competitive business hotels reliable internet is a must. From other reviews on this property bad internet is a known - and unacceptable - issue. We also had a light out in the bathroom. The tech who came to fix it was a nice enough guy but couldn't remove the bad bulb. So it's a dark shower for our stay. How many techs does it take to replace a light bulb? In this joke we don't know the answer yet because it hasn't been replaced. Consequently we're still looking for the punchline. Good news is that there's a sports bar next door, perfect for rainy nights when you don't want to venture out. Miller's Ale House is a pub and sports bar, so don't expect Fleming's (down the street). But for a burger, a beer and a Sixers game the place is perfect. Bad news is the Courtyard is across the street and you can get a better deal on a better maintained property with reliable internet, and still walk across the street to get your burger and game on. A couple of random thoughts: 1.) Contrary to being a "sustainable" property there are plastic, wrapped cups in the room, ala Motel 6. : / 2.) The sliding door in the bathroom is unbelievably heavy to move. 3.) Walls are scuffed up in room 620 and the shower could use a recaulk or grout. Unless things change at the Aloft I'll be staying at the Mt. Laurel Courtyard from now on. (Update: they found a tech who could fix a light bulb. It took about 24 hours to replace. No word on how many techs it took...) read more

I recently had a reservation at this hotel a month in advance prior to my arrival date. They cancelled my reservation the day of my arrival. Apparently since the hotel has high occupancy, they cancel guest reservations last minute and don't offer relocation. Please do not ever stay at this hotel. They are not trustworthy. You might make a reservation but it's not really a reservation because the hotel can do anything they want to. Never dealt with such a unorganized and unprofessional hotel staff in my life and I stay at hotels every week. Stephanie is the worst front guest agent in this world! In addition to my last experience, I stayed at this hotel two other times both were bad. First time I had my room changed twice because it smelled so disgusting. The rooms, hallways and elevator smell so bad like mold and decay. Second time, I got bit by a bed bug while I was sleeping. I should have learned my lesson the first time but because I got a good rate I went back two other time. Stay away this hotel smells horrible, has bed bugs and can't honor reservations they make. I had high hopes for the Aloft but the experience was not good at all. Paid $159 for Thursday night. $300 for Saturday. $159 was high for the condition of this hotel. $300 is absurd. The overall look and ambiance of the hotel seemed fine but the details were awful. We had two rooms and they were both similar so it wasn't just one bad room. The rooms smelled odd. Sort of a combination of faint mold and sweat. Awful. The pictures below tell the story. The hot water was either cold or scalding. Very difficult to regulate. The carpet felt dirty and was stained in one of our rooms. AC didn't really work. It was very loud and not very effective. Didn't do a good job of cooling or dehumidifying. Also smelled moldy. Felt like it needed service badly but had not been serviced in a long time. Lobby was nice. Elevator and hallways felt dirty. Staff was fine. Coffee in the room was OK, in the lobby awful. The experience was so bad I will cross Aloft off my list for future stays. TV in the room was excellent and the variety of channels was good. read more

I've stayed at the Aloft in a number of cities and as a positive they are consistent. The Aloft is similar to the Marriott Courtyard chain consistency wise. The staff is always helpful, rooms small but comfortable, like the free bottled water, and good exercise facilities. For an extended stay (more than 2 nights) the small/tiny closet and lack of storage could be an issue. Couple of suggestions: * Really don't need the music blaring in the common areas * How about adding some facilities for real food not just premade and microwaved bar food. The addition of a restaurant next door will be a good addition. * How about a TV at eye level that you can comfortably watch at the bar. Yea it's cool to have a bank of TVs by the ceiling but it's not comfortable if you want to have a few cocktails and catch a game One interesting thing happened during my last stay. I went to use the sink at bedtime and water started pouring on the floor. The drain pipes had separated under the sink! I was able to secure the drain pipes and towel up the floor. Not a big issue and I did not want to engage the hotel staff at 11PM... At checkout the front desk was truly apologetic and asked if they could do anything for me... No biggie... read more

They do a pretty good job for a mid-grade highway hotel. This is the second time we have stayed at the Aloft Mount Laurel (the other time was three years ago). The hotel has worn well, and still feels pretty fresh. We chose this property because they allow dogs without an extra fee. I think the hotel is incredibly clean, especially considering its pet-friendly status. We grabbed breakfast sandwiches downstairs before we left, and they were bigger than we were expecting, especially for $5.50. Could I get a better sandwich at Wawa for slightly less? Yes, but it isn't right downstairs. If everything stays the same, this will continue to be the place we stay on the Turnpike in the future. read more

We stayed in the "Ultra Savvy Suite" at the end of December 2017. We used this room to have my fiancé and her bridesmaids stay one night and get ready the next day. We needed the extra room to have a makeup artist and hairstylist work on them the morning of the wedding. First, we had difficulty making reservations for this room. We called several times, got rerouted to several people, and accidentally hung-up on. One receptionist even told us that she could not make the reservation because the director of room sales was not in. She said that there was nothing she could do and did not give any one else to talk to about the reservation. We made three phone calls that day and were not able to book the room or give us the name of someone that could book the room. We finally emailed the director and luckily got her auto reply which gave us the contact information for the person covering. Also, some of the hotel employees were not entirely knowledgeable and did not always follow through. We were first told by someone on the phone that the suite could accommodate more than two people with the pull-out sofa bed. It was also stated in an email that the suite could accommodate 4 people; however, upon arrival we learned that there was no pull-out sofa. We asked the receptionist when we checked in around 3:30pm for another bed in the room and she said she would check for a rollaway or an air mattress. When I returned at 8pm, there was no bed in the room. I called the receptionist and they brought in an air mattress. The man that brought the bed was very helpful, however there was a hole that he tried to fix with tape. We left again and came back at 10:30pm. The bed was deflated and we had to call again for another bed. The worst part about our experience at Aloft - Mount Laurel was the poor quality and lack of cleanliness of the room. There were marks on some of the walls, a lamp shade that had dried up stains on it (looked like vomit), and wallpaper coming off in the bathroom. We found glitter on the floors in the kitchen and on a seat in the bedroom. The edges of the kitchen counters had large chunks missing, and there was a used towel that was thrown on top of the head board, hanging over the bed. The suite was $299 a night. After we complained, were offered a $100 refund "within 3 business days." Now it's been more than 3 business days and no refund. I cannot recommend Aloft-Mount Laurel with the lack of cleanliness/condition of the room we stayed in and the miscommunication from the staff. *When reading the Hotel's response, notice that they say nothing about the poor quality and uncleanliness of the room. I guess that is acceptable. Also, their response is again filled with wrong information. read more

Stayed here this past weekend for a night! Very pleasant stay. The representative at the front desk that checked us in was very nice. The first floor was really cute. There was a bar, a seating area with a tv and fire place, an area with a pool table and a little cafe/Restaurant. Once you pass the main front area, there is an outdoor seating area in between the "living room" and indoor swimming pool. The swimming pool hours are great however the pool was a bit small. There is also a fitness room. The guest room was really nice. It was clean and big. The beds were absolutely amazing (I want it in my house). We come here at least once a year to recharge and enjoy the vibe at this hotel. Rooms are definitely not decorated like other hotel rooms! Think IKEA meets corporate. While for the price of the room I would have enjoyed a bathtub, and if you lean on the back of the shower you will moon your roommates, it was nice having extra space cleared up. The bar downstairs is a fun place to go, drinks are not expensive, and they do occasionally have live entertainment. My one complaint is that you need to be sure the price that you are promised when you call the 800 number to book is the same you are charged. An issue like this happened more than once, with the actual site trying to charge more than what I was told. First time I didn't have the confirmation email, but the second time I was smarter and had it. read more

I had an overnight stay at Aloft while visiting the Mount Laurel area. The hotel itself is nice and has a very modern vibe. The room itself had the same modern/ minimalist vibe. It was very simple, with little storage space. I only stayed here for one night, so I didn't need much, but just be aware if you are here for an extended stay. The bed was extremely low to the ground, I'm not sure if this is because the room I stayed in was wheelchair accessible or if they are all like this. Not exactly my cup of tea and the bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it did the job for one night. Just a note: Since the room I stayed in was wheelchair accessible, there was definitely plenty of space and amenities for those with disabilities. We stayed two nights while attending a wedding this weekend. Checking in was a breeze and we were given a top floor room away from the noise from a nearby ale house and a busy road. The room was well appointed with a clean, comfortable king-sized bed, a small desk and an upholstered bench under the wall TV where you could unpack or sit while dressing, and it had a spacious shower and bathroom/closet, equipped with a combination lock box, a good sized refrigerator, and hair dryer. The room also has an iron and ironing board tucked away in the room divider/headboard. The included coffee pods were sub-par, but there in a Starbucks right next to the hotel. All and all it was an excellent stay and will return. read more

One word; Amazing. We had only stayed for one night at this luxious hotel and I instantly want to stay for another night. How it looks - 4.5/5 Aloft w hotels has a clean and modern look, the entrance of the hotel looks very rich and roburst, however, inside the lobby was very warming and had a sense of passion. The elevator has colorful decorations and lights, it definitely doesn't feel like a boring trip from floor to floor. Now the room itself, once we first took a step inside a sudden rush of 'home' hit us. The furniture was modern and stylish, but not confusing to use. The cable was DirectTV (personally my favorite) so that's a win, and the TV wasn't a cheap and small screen, instead it was a decently big flatscreen TV. The beds were just luxurious and comfy, I don't see how anyone didn't have a good night's sleep. In general the room had a sense of home and still kept it's modern look. Staff - 5/5 The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the staff did their part and was very helpful as well. Payment - 4.5/5 Get ready for this $100 for one night!! keep in mind that this hotel is absolutely gorgeous and is very nice. This price is definitely a steal! So what do I rate this? 4.5 / 5 stars Summary: Modern and friendly design, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, the room is very comfortable and nice. The only thing that needs improvement would be the design of the room, maybe change the layout of the bathroom and kitchen, other than that it is my go to choice for a hotel. read more

This place is nothing but a swanky shit hole! Underneath all the modern, hip curb appeal you'll find poor service, amenities and food. The first night there was no hot water, followed by two nights of nothing but scalding hott water. The rooms cleaning service is a joke. Never changed my sheets, just put the beds together haphazardly, left pillows on the floor and crudely folded the used towels. You can't sleep here because the beds are hard as rocks, and the heater makes noises one would only find in a horror film. If you bother to try the bar the drinks are good, but the food is just nuked in the microwave before coming out stale and small. Save yourself and go to a different hotel! read more

We booked a wedding at The Aloft Mt. Laurel for Oct 2013. Now while we had a beautiful venue, we experienced so MANY problems with the food during the reception that I feel the party was ruined. We have contacted the management team of Aloft and they have offered us $2000.00 to "make things right". My daughters wedding is OVER. It was BAD. I want my at least 70% of my money back! Not that this will make the wedding better, but it will force Aloft to pay attention to customer satisfaction in the future. THE FOOD WAS SERVED COLD! At the beginning of the reception, I personally went to the Maitre D' and told her the food was COLD. She completely dismissed me and did nothing about this. She did not tell the Chef, she did not tell the Wedding Planner. She kept this little secret to herself and continued to serve cold food!!! This FACT has been admitted by Aloft with NO resolve. So many of my guests have commented on the cold food. I am embarrassed that I tried to make this right and yet NOTHING and I do mean NOTHING was done! The desserts, we contracted for, included SIX wonderfully distinct choices. Without warning, the Pastry Chef found it necessary to supplement the inadequate amount of desserts with, what we believe, were FROZEN mass produced, boxed pastries (the kind you buy at Sam's Club) they insist that they were made in their kitchen. Hey, I know I had a frozen cream puff MYSELF. The bigger question was... why wasn't there enough of the contracted desserts? Who asked for these pastries? We paid gratuities up front in our contract, yet the bar tenders found it necessary to put out tip jars. While I understand that tipping a bartender is customary, asking for a tip is WRONG. I didn't think we booked the local Fire House!!! THE WEDDING CAKE!!! Aloft pastry chef met with us and we contracted a 4 tier cake with a different flavor in each tier. Our Guests were served ONLY vanilla cake. The Top Tier, which was contracted to be chocolate, IS VANILLA. Yes that is the one my daughter took home to remember her day! The rest of the cake went missing.... I guess that was all vanilla as well. They have offered to make my daughter a chocolate cake... IS THAT HER WEDDING CAKE? 150 people at the wedding and they had only TWO serving stations. One a carving station and ONE a pasta station. There were LONG lines and cold food!!! We had originally asked that the pasta station(S) be a saute station, we were told that this causes long lines and delays the party! WHAT???? We contracted for wine service with dinner. While they say they served wine with dinner..I did not see it. I was never asked if I wanted wine, YES I AM THE BRIDES FATHER! My wife was never served wine and the many guests I asked stated they went to the bar if they wanted wine. At the end of the night, the Bride and her Groom were approached asking if they would like a snack brought to their suite after the wedding... what a nice touch... they are still waiting. There has been many discussions with Aloft after the wedding. They have admitted to their mistakes. they offered us a cocktail party for 15 which we declined and then they offered $2000.00... So here is my story. I would suggest NOT booking at Aloft, not because they can't do a good job, but because when they screw up, THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND IT! We walked in last night around 10 to check in and was squarely met with a very loud karaoke party in the lobby bar that made it hard for me to think when checking in. The furniture is cheap, laminate and not has hip as it appears in pictures.The rooms were not bad in layout but there are two things that will guarantee I never stay here again: - They skimp on the pillows. Small little cheap excuses for pillows. - The doors slam hard when people close them in the hallway. This jars you awake throughout the night and makes it hard to sleep. Not going to be back. Been staying at the Aloft as a business traveler for a month+ or so now. Have stayed at similar properties and been overall satisfied with the accommodations but this place is in definite need of repair and more than what a fresh coat of paint can satisfy. Room itself is ample enough - although the layout is strange - with alot of unusable space. The bathrooms have been consistently gross all around: mildew on shower, a dry film on the shower floor, tile floor looking like its seen better days, broken shampoo dispensers. The fixtures themselves are sporadic with lighting being inconsistent, spots on the carpet, dents on the wall and desks. Bedding and bed itself are fine. Gym is suboptimal with more than half of the equipment broken or in poor condition. Place isn't all bad though - mostly the rooms. The staff is super nice and helpful. The lobby is presentable and the bar has a nice seating area which is often decently packed. The patio is nice when usable and theres a cool pool table on the other side of the seating area. read more
