Clean, good breakfast in the morning, staff is super pleasant. Room was a little run down in some areas but other than that nice.

It breaks my heart to write this review being a fan of the brand generally, but I always believe in being honest and so my honest review is merely a 2 star stay at this location. Keep in mind, this is only for a 2 day stay - and I'm thankful it's all I had lined up here. Something to also keep in mind is that I'm an incredibly easy 'customer' - I rarely ever complain like some others tend to do, even for the times I probably should. Normally I'd just dismiss it, but this time irritated me a little more than usual. The grounds are very nice and the location is very convenient. There are multiple hotels in the vicinity - some within walking distance - which makes the issues at this location baffling due to the competition all over the area. The first issue I had was the lack of hot water in the shower (the sink was fine). The first night, I had to run the water for over 10 minutes for the water to finally get warm enough (never fully as hot as I'd like it). The second night, I gave up after 20 minutes of no hot water. It was late and I didn't bother to complain, because I wasn't going to sit there while they tried to figure it out. I've never had this experience at any Courtyard or any other hotel before for that matter. Hell, I've stayed at seedy hotels and motels before (don't ask) and I never had this issue before. Keeping it on the subject of plumbing, the toilet was strange - sometimes you'd have to flush it twice. I guess it depended on whatever mood it was in and not the contents. It's one of those bathrooms where the sink is separated from the shower and toilet - I'm not a fan of that design, but it is what it is. Another issue I had were the horrible pillows. They really ought to have some variety, which includes offering firmer pillows. Three pillows and they were terrible. Three pillows and I can grab all three with one hand and still make a fist. I had to roll up the blanket to use as a pillow. I didn't sleep well either night I was there because of that. It's almost miraculous I didn't wake up with the sore neck I predicted I would. Yet another issue was the lack of turn down service - they never came into my room once during my 2 day stay and I was gone from the room for most of the days. Luckily I'm not a slob like other hotel guests are, so it was just a minimal issue to me and I still had enough towels. I just mention it to mention it. The mini fridge is really small (and had to be adjusted temp wise), so be strategic with whatever you choose to use it for - if at all. While some would complain about the "thin walls", it's more of the other hotels guests being loud, oblivious, weird, and rude and not the hotel's fault. They did put me in a room with an adjoining room - the guests on that side were a little loud, but once I blasted my TV they seemed to take the hint to pipe down a few notches. I didn't use any of the hotel amenities to comment on them. I didn't need the wifi, didn't bother with whatever "breakfast" they offered, didn't use the "fitness" room, or anything else. It was just in the room and out and nothing more. Everything was clean, though the lower outside of the tub had some marks on it that might make other guests complain. As mentioned, the grounds are nice and there was plenty of parking. Speaking of parking, they apparently charge a $10 daily parking fee for some reason - but mine was waved. A small bonus for the inconveniences of this stay, but to charge for parking here at all is a little strange. Most of the staff were acceptable. The two in the front I deal with were friendly. Some of the other staff however weren't friendly at all. I still plan to use Courtyard again - just not this location ever again. Hopefully this is not a trend and all others will start following the problems of this location, otherwise I might have to look for another brand to use altogether. Over a dozen hotels in the very immediate area and I chose the wrong one................this time. read more

A perfectly solid hotel that was recently remodeled. The lobby is like every other Courtyard now. The rooms are clean and new. The bed is firm but not hard. And at least for me, I had 2 soft and 2 firm pillows which was perfect. The only thing I'd like Marriott overall to do is put in proper electrical plugs that aren't loose. No idea why they do that everywhere. read more

Average and affordable place to stay in the area. It was clean enough. No bells or whistles but if you just need to sleep it's good enough. They have the parking lots being redone or something so parking was a little hard because I checked in late but I did find a spot. I'd prefer Aloft if you had a choice but this was fine. read more

Stayed here for a family wedding, which was located nearby. This hotel is small but very nice. The staff is extremely friendly and is accommodating for any requests. I'm not incredibly picky when it comes to hotels. As a matter of fact, I only have 3 minimum requirements for a satisfactory experience. Listed in order of importance, they are: 1. It's clean 2. It's quiet 3. The staff is friendly and helpful Any additional amenities are just icing on the cake for me. In the past I have always found that Marriott hotels consistently check all the boxes no matter which location I am staying at. Unfortunately, I seem to have stumbled upon a rogue, black sheep with this one. At least I hope this is the case. I'll start with number one on the must-have list. It wasn't so much what I could see but what I could smell that left me questioning the cleanliness. I'm referring to a lingering musty odor which hung in the air and also permeated the bedding. Next, there was no peace and quiet to be enjoyed here. People were partying at all hours behind paper thin walls, some of them could even be heard from floors away. I've stayed in college dorms that weren't as noisy as this hotel! Needless to say, this environment is not conducive to getting a good night's rest, or even a daytime nap for that matter. First time traveling for work in years due to Covid. This Courtyard is in a location with other hotels in the area, I think I should of stayed at The Westin. Rooms are tired, old & outdated. Hair was wrapped around shampoo containers in shower, no more individual bottles. I usually don't travel with my charging brick & there were absolutely no USB chargers anywhere in the room. What? It's 2021 & nowhere to plug a USB in. The bistro is only open from 7am to 10am, I'm assuming Due to staffing. As you can imagine there isn't a lot of travelers. Disappointed my room was connected with some loud children on the other side. They need to do a better job spacing out travelers in rooms cause they sure have the room. The hotel is clean. Abraham checked us in after our flight arrived at 12:30am. He was very pleasant and even made a fresh pot of coffee We somehow were in the w:c assessable room. Nice but the shower made the bathroom soaking wet on floor. Our biggest disappointment was they had no shuttle to the hotel from airport. I do know I asked twice before we arrived at airport and was told they have 24 hour shuttle. No they don't. We had to get a taxi which was not mentioned when I called. About our late arrival. Every business will stumble from time to time, it is how quickly we can get back to that counts. I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for some time and stay at their properties frequently. That being said, I was very surprised at the overall condition of this property. My nightly rate was$180 and the room looked like what I expect to see if I was to go for a budget hotel. If nothing else, I expect cleanliness and great service when I over pay for substandard accommodations. The first thing that caught my eye was a half of a roll of toilet paper with a rough end touching the floor. Not what I normally see in this chain. That made me suspicious of the overall "clean" that they have spent so much effort advertising. The remainder of the room seemed ok just very dated. It was when I got to the bed part that ended my stay. I discovered bed bugs. I promptly collected what I could, photo documented one to confirm that's what I had and flushed them. I shook out my clothes that had been on that same bed, placed them in a laundry bad and headed for the desk. I requested a manager and was informed that I was speaking to one. I explained the situation and provided the photo and the time/ date/ location stamp so that could verify it occurred there. I said I wanted to be checked out. He informed me I would not be charged and that was the end of the conversation. Being a titanium member, I contacted customer service via email and included a photo. Given the inconvenience and the fact i now has to go wash my clothes at 9pm, expected reimbursement. I received an email the next day that my issue would be addressed. Two days later a call came from a claims specialist informing me that their "service " discovered no bed bugs and that the room had not been occupied all week.....I was there on Tuesday. When I informed her I have not only managed decontamination of many bed bug infestations she asked if I had any photos. Well, I did attach them to my initial email. She then asked for my email... also in my...initial email. She said to send her the photos so she can place them in the"file". When I said I would include my laundry receipts, she said they will not be paid. This is not customer service. This is an absolute disgrace to be questioned on the validity of my experience. The desk manager had every opportunity to obtain the photo and time stamp at the initial interaction. This claims specialist had my email with the photo attached and she didn't even apologize. Stay away from not only this dump but I recommend avoiding the chain in general. Bonvoy has not only gone down hill but has gutted the program while maintaining high prices and lower services during the pandemic. I am done with them. read more

Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...this was a business trip and my company pays for the cost prior to arrival. Usually I stay in a different hotel but since my colleague was staying here decided to stay as well! Big mistake on my part! Usually things like this don't bother me but today they plucked my last nerve. Do not get me wrong I could easily give them 5 stars on the cleanliness of the place but the customer service immediately reduced the rating. There was a billing issue and the manager was so abrupt and dismissive. It was basically the company had not paid, you figure it out but you need to move from this desk. I was surprised they allowed me to stay in the lobby while I called the travel agency. While I was resolving the matter nobody checked on me despite the fact I know the travel agency called and spoke to the front desk person. Then once it was resolved and I went back to have them check me in, they mysteriously "lost Internet service" yet checked in 3 other people despite their Internet issues. I had to literally ask them if they wanted me to leave because I just was not comprehending this level of poor customer service. I was checked in an hour later with a scripted apology. Tammy is fantastic and the general manager went that extra mile to make sure they had something special for my morning treat. The bistro is fantastic and the staff made me a fruit basket that was delicious and the cappuccino was outstanding and the mocha latte was perfect. The night staff st the desk really made me feel special and made sure to welcome us when we came back from five hours of shopping on Black Friday. MOLD AND MILDEW. My initial room was on the first floor where there was a very foul odor like drenched carpet soaked in mildew. I kindly asked to be moved. We were then placed on the third floor where the smell was just as bad. I think that the hotel is just old and moldy. I'm a lifetime Titanium Elite Member with over 1200 nights in the Marriott Brand and have stayed at hundreds of Courtyards. I was hoping to stay at this location for a year long project in the area and this was the test run. While the checkin staff was wonderful and aside from a few stains on the room floor, the overall room is pretty good. Not a fan of Marriott moving away from giving you individual soap and shampoo and giving you community bottles, that everyone shares. Just shows they are going cheap and I wonder about how sanitized they are. My biggest complaint of the stay was when I came back with my dinner and asked the front desk for a metal knife and fork from the Bistro. I was told by someone who appeared to be a manager. That it was not allowed and they cannot leave the area. She said I could eat at one of the tables, but taking them to a room was against the rules. I was surprised by this comment, because after a few hundred stays at other Courtyards. I was always allowed to take them to my room. After several comments back and forth, she said I could take them to my room. At this point I declined and struggled with plastic utensils. Just the attitude she was giving right from the beginning, has turned me off on this hotel and the possibility of over 75 more nights this year. This was a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Melissa checked us in and she was sweet and informative. Our room (335) was far from the front desk, but we discovered the side doors allowed quicker access. The maid staff thoroughly cleaned our room. The pillows and mattress were so comfortable-I tried to see the brand of mattress but the tags were removed. They had a pool and jacuzzi which we were going to use, but we saw from the 3rd floor hall window that there were people in the jacuzzi when we wanted to go. Can't judge what I didn't see! I liked the overhang at the front door-it was pouring when we left and it was nice to have coverage from the rain. read more

Had a nice stay at the Marriott, the room seemed clean. Spacious. No loud disturbances. Lobby is pretty big and with snacks available. The pool is also a plus specially with little kids. It's not terribly huge or deep but enough to stretch some little legs in the water. The towel rack however was lacking refreshing. Low quantity of towels was a little unexpected but there were about 18 kids in the pool at the time when we went, with hardly any adult supervision. Overall conveniently located near restaurants, highways, wal-mart, etc so it was a perfect midpoint for us. read more

Terrible - Plan: Relaxing Weekend, Swim in the Indoor Pool and enjoy ourselves. - Appears that the Hotel Manager has a "Side Gig" going on - Hosting Children's Swim Birthday Parties. We went to the indoor pool and found ourselves stunned to find nearly 100 small children running around yelling and splashing in the pool. The entire experience was unsanitary, disrespectful and unnerving. I attempted to speak with on duty upper level management from the hotel and was met with sarcasm. Shortly after this encounter, we witnessed a large group of children singing Happy Birthday and eating birthday cake in the lobby. All I can say is SMH - Unbelievable! - Ironic, especially how management asked us to sign a document that we would not host any party and/or invite numerous guests to our room. Amazing! I was disrespected and treated like garbage by hotel management, Punja, and have filed a formal complaint with corporate. No one deserves to be belittled, talked down to and unfairly thrown with no notice in the middle of winter. I spent $2400 at this hotel and will never give them another penny. Stayed here for a couple of days while I had business in Cherry Hill to attend to. This Courtyard is surrounded by a variety of hotel choices, yet I felt that I got the best value here. And plus, the other Marriott hotels within walking distance were sold out. Lol. Anyways, the room was as expected: nearly brand new, with a remarkably comfortable queen -sized bed. The room is designed to which the bed, coffee table & sofa take up a significant amount of space before you you even get comfortable at the desk. Its just a different feel entirely, in comparison to its sister property of the Fairfield Inn. For those that have stayed in other Marriott properties, this Courtyard (as well as others nationwide) is designed more like a Towne Place property. Either which way, its still comfortable. My room didn't face in to the courtyard, which was okay. There are rooms that have balconies that do face in to the courtyard. As far as the lobby, there is a kitchen area that provides meals. FYI, there is no free breakfast here, for those that have never stayed in a Courtyard property. I had the pleasure of having the manager prepare my dinner items himself due to the kitchen employees leaving for the day. I thought that was pretty cool. The Starbucks quality coffee at this location is also good. As aforementioned, there are other properties to choose from while on Century Parkway. There are also hotels across the main street, in addition to a Starbucks. However, I wouldn't recommend walking across that main street, nor drive across just for a cup of Starbucks. Why risk it? That street is just so busy with crazy drivers that you are better off getting your coffee within the Courtyard here. And when it comes to hotels, you are probably better off choosing Marriott alternatives on the Courtyard side of the road. Altogether, this is a really comfortable property that I wouldn't mind staying at again when I'm in the Mount Laurel & Cherry Hill area. read more

We are Marriott loyalists.....Titanium Elite just to add credibility. This property is definitely not luxurious and is in need of a major upgrade. We've stayed 586 nights at Marriott (Bonvoy) properties and this is by far the most unkempt one we've encountered. Take notice of doors, door jams and carpet when you walk in, walk the halls and get near the elevator just past the Welcome desk. We'll definitely be passing this property up the next time we're in New Jersey. So sad because we love the Marriott portfolio. Was going to add pictures but didn't want to waste anymore time on this review.....it just plain needs a refresher throughout. PS- A bad investment for $397 for a 2 bedroom for 1 night! read more

This was a pleasant surprise. I was in Philadelphia all afternoon and wanted some place close by to stay - without the huge Philly pricetag! I found this Courtyard and the reviews were good, so I gave it a shot. I was thrilled with the place. It is a very large Courtyard. The room was nice and spacious and had an amazing balcony that overlooked a beautiful courtyard - I loved that! My room was so clean and comfortable - what more could I ask for? Bathroom was very clean and functional. I especially liked the cloth shower curtain - so much better than plastic (see photo). The location of this hotel was just across the bridge from Philadelphia (about 12 - 15 miles from Philadelphia). It was nighttime when I came in, so I didn't see what was in the area. I did see that it was on a main road. On my way out the next morning, it was very convenient to the NJ Turnpike, which was perfect for me. No free breakfast, but free parking and free wi-fi. We had a womderful stay. The grounds, rooms, service, check-in, breakfast was great. There was 15 of us in a family getaway. We were spread out over 5 guest rooms. All were comfortable accomadations, beds, tv, pool hot tub, fitness room. No smokimg in the rooms but allowee out by the firepit on a awesome courtyard. The only reason i didmt give it a 5 stars ratimg was because breakfast was an extra cost however food was delish a la carte options. Coffee amd tea in the rooms there was a busimess center area, plemtrynof space to loumge in the evenings. I recommend and would return if I come back to this area. . read more

Stayed here for an overnight this past weekend. The staff was accommodating. Room was clean and temperature was fine. Beds comfortable. In the morning we had breakfast in the lobby. My frittata was tasty. My son loved the banana bread French toast. I got an ice coffee and asked for a refill before leaving and they didn't charge me. I just spent the last 2 days here. It is what it is. It is by far the nicest hotel in the area. It has a Bistro, pool, gym, commissary and still one of the few hotels left that plays movies that are still in the movie theater :) The hotel is modern and has all the amenities you would need and is good for either personal or business. I travel weekly and can appreciate a good hotel when I find one. read more

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst stays that I have ever had at a Courtyard Marriott. I'm a loyal customer of the Marriott hotels and constantly stay at a Courtyard Marriott for my business travels needs. This time was the worst experience that I have had. First, they put me in a handicap room and there is no need for me to have that room. It should be reserved for those that need it. At checkin they should have informed me that they were putting me in a handicap room. That information was left out. According to the front desk the Bistro restaurant is open until 10:00pm. I finished my work out at 9:45 and went over to the Bistro to find out that they close the kitchen early. I thought I would have enough time to order but was sadly mistaken. Next morning, I went to their bistro for breakfast and was told that it ended breakfast at 10:00am. Again, I arrived 5 minutes before closing and everything was put away and the lights were off. A gentleman went up to the counter and some how got a coffee but when I asked for a coffee the front desk agent stated it was closed. Yes, I should have arrived a little earlier but I thought I could at least grab a grab and go item. Very disappointed in this location and will not be back in the future. After finally arriving to find out that the hotel I had reserved months ago was a dump, My husband and I noticed the Courtyard Mount Laurel location across the street... We went in and shared our experience with "Zia", the front desk clerk, and he readily showed compassion and accommodated us for our stay. It was such a tremendous blessing as we were celebrating our 15th anniversary and had a long romantic road trip ahead:) The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were, oh so comfortable!!! The hotel was under construction as advertised on line. So we were expecting it. The check in staff was especially nice and helpful. Even escorted us to easiest way around the area being worked on. They have a informational booth that can help you find most anything within 25 miles. And it will print info from it at a touch of a button. The room was set at 70 comfortable degrees. Very nice for a category 2 hotel. And we used rewards point so we paid nothing for the night. We did not use the indoor pool or gym. But if a longer stay. We would have gotten good use of the pool, hot tube, and gym. The lounge area is grand. We did not try the food in hotel. But the area has booths with a personal tv with remote in each while you enjoying your meals. We will definitely stay here read more

This was an excellent experience. I was visiting for a week and needed a room for me, my wife, and my daughter. We initially booked another hotel up the road and was not happy. We left an hour later. We came here and the front desk person (Rachel) was very helpful. According to her, the computer system showed all rooms were booked but she said "I know that's not right" and went to look for available rooms. Coming from the hotel that we came from, this level of customer service was appreciated, I have no doubt that the person from our old hotel would have said "well, the computer says everything is booked, so I guess you're out of luck." We stayed in a suit and giving our situation, that is exactly what we needed. The room was clean and updated. Our daughter loves swimming and we were very satisfied with the pool. Sorry but I cannot say that I was thrilled about this stay. I didn't even spend enough time here to rate the hotel because I was only here for one night. However it seems kind of old and outdated and in need of renovation. Secondly I was given a room that had an adjoining room and also it was a handicap room which I really did not appreciate. Although I usually always specify or ask for no adjoining rooms this time I forgot. I would think that being a gold elite member Marriott would remember my preferences but I guess that's too much to ask for. The fact that I was given an ADA room did kind of bug me but I didn't squawk about it and I guess there is some logic that goes into how they assign rooms that are open, so as a property manager I did not debate that. Wouldn't know what the hotel is like, they allowed a squatter to overstay their reservation and left us with no nearby lodging option. We arrived at the hotel at 10:00 p.m. after our kid's soccer games and dinner. We had a guaranteed reservation and even confirmed our reservation the day before. So what happens when we arrive, we're told no rooms but we can send you 25 miles to the Marriott in the terminal at the Philadelphia airport. The hotel said they couldn't remove the belongings of the guest that should have left. We called the local Police a few days later and were told they could have helped and knew of no rule that prevented them from removing the guests belongings. So, with two kids in tow that were exhausted and needed to be at their soccer games by 8 on Sunday morning, we were sent to another state, 25 miles away. The really amazing part is that not once - NOT ONCE - at any point before we arrived at the hotel did they try and contact us. No call, no email, no text. Nothing. On a night when the area was crowded with soccer players we had no advance warning of a problem which meant that the only option they presented was take it or leave it. If a hotel won't honor a guaranteed reservation, why even bother with their chain again? (BTW, if you're reading this and are the person that decided to stay, congratulations for being a d-bag. Screw everyone else is a great way to go through life you've decided.) read more

I would have given this place 4 stars. It's newer, modern, all the good stuff in the refreshed Courtyard Brand. However, I was on a first floor room next to an outside exit and heard the door shut every single time. Also found the walls to thin. I can hear the ladies next door talk about their daughter's lacrosse team. The service at the front desk was really good. Last Guest's Food Still in Fridge! No fooling. A Styrofoam box of take-out or delivery wings from someplace belonging to the prior guest was in the refrigerator, indicating that the refrigerator is not cleaned or even checked between guest stays! It took three rooms to find one that had not recently been smoked in, with the air FOUL from cigarettes in one of them - despite the meaningless "non-smoking" hotel designation. The toilet bowl had flushing issues, so, it was a choice between having to forego flushing, or call downstairs for a plunger when I had to get going in the morning. The shower water is stuck at SUPER HOT if you want water pressure; but if you want a more comfortable temperature (non-scalding) you have to go to the weakest stream--where the water is almost about to cut off. Adding insult to injury, my key would no longer work on the hotel's side entrance door when I brought the cart outside to pack my car - in a heavy downpour - approximately 3 hours before regular check-out time! A very unsatisfactory stay, which amounted to throwing away rewards points I could have used at another property. read more

I'm in the Navy and have been traveling up the East Coast on/off for the last 3.5 years to spend weekends with my beautiful wife and kids.. About a year ago we decided to stop into Mt. Laurel area and thankfully ran into this Courtyard by Marriott. What a diamond in the rough! From the very first step into the hotel to the checkout and beyond the service and updated style of this place is top notch! Marriott recently (last few years) updated their menu and added a lot of items that offer variety to the traveling family. My kids loved the sandwiches and pizza, the wife and I enjoyed the Broc and Chz soup and they even had fresh baked cookies! About the only thing i could complain about (and its to no fault of the hotel) the outside sitting area with fire pit wasn't up and running - because of the rain! however with the indoor pool we all enjoyed a lengthy dip. I can't remember if we had any issues at all... Even had plenty of towels for a family of 4 (which some can relate to) lifesaving!! We'll definitely be staying at the Courtyard Mt Laurel next time were passing through/meeting for some relaxed and problem free family time... ** Side note, if you don't like the food at Courtyard, there's a great brick oven pizza place right around the corner.. just ask the staff where, they had no problem helping us.. read more

If you're looking to visit Philadelphia and you don't want to pay for a hotel IN Philadelphia, this Courtyard Marriott is a great spot. The rooms are clean, the elevators are fast, and the staff is friendly. They have an outdoor seating area with a fire pit and chairs and they also have tables for you to enjoy lunch/dinner while sitting outside. The pool area is indoors, located next to their 24 hour gym room, and there is also a decently sized hot tub as well. The only 'complaint' about this room is the size of the pull out couch mattress. It looks a little smaller than a twin, so it'll be good for one adult (two if you really don't mind squishing). The king size mattresses are extremely comfortable and the hotel is located near a few restaurants and stores. They don't have free breakfast, but they do have free WIFI which is great. read more
