The rooms are big, beds are super comfy, and the bathrooms have nice products (not the cheap stuff). Each room has a little kitchenette with a stove, fridge, microwave, dishes--the works. They've got an indoor pool, a cozy outdoor area with grills and a fire pit, plus a game room for the kids. Breakfast is free every morning (always a win), and two nights a week they put out light snacks in the evening. The lobby is huge and perfect if you want to bring your meal down and hang out. The staff is always friendly, the place is spotless, and the location couldn't be better--restaurants and shops all around, with an Outback Steakhouse literally across the parking lot. Prices do jump around, so play with the dates when booking. Perfect for a staycation or weekend getaway. I'll definitely be back again and again!

The next day we checked out and again I asked can someone check the room before we go just to make sure everything was ok again I was brushed off and we left that Sunday Monday I saw odd charges on my bank statement so I called the person informed me it was a temporary hold Tuesday I call because now it's a posted transaction and they took more then the holding fee again I was told wait more time it will adjust it self NEVER WAS I INFORMED OF ANY FEE. They told me check by Friday Friday comes I call the hotel from 8am no manger til 9 call at 9 no manger 9:30 he still not there 10:30 still not there so I drive there because no one can give me answers no one saying anything now at 11 I get there there's a manger and he's immediately dismissive and has and attitude like I'm not the one who has been calling and reaching out all week .THIS whole NEGATIVE experience could have been AVOIDED HAD SOMEONE CAME TO MY ROOM AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR ME TO LEAVE THE PREMISES AND secondly LYING EACH TIME I CALLED INSTEAD OF TELLING ME I WAS CHARGED FOR A CLEANING FEE THE FIRST TIME I CALLED WITH CONCERNS on Monday!! Like waking up to someone else throwing up violently at 5 am type of heat everything. Almost like "in the stall next to me" clear on every noise. The breakfast wasn't the fanciest I've ever seen, but we stayed over the holidays and I'm sure they were running on a skeleton crew. It was passable- one type of milk (2%- no skim, no whole), a few containers empty or nearly so (cereal, fruit). I'm really not going to complain about not getting my cantaloupe for one morning if the tradeoff is that whoever usually fills the cantaloupe bin is spending a national holiday with family. There is no tv in the breakfast area, so you can't watch the morning news, as I like to do. One hint: the grassy areas are not super clean. It's not clear where to take your dog when she needs a potty area, and people are clearly just using any grassy area- and not bothering to clean up after their pets. Unfortunately, I only discovered this AFTER my dog had walked through a pile of some other dog's poo, so I got to clean that off her paws. (And after I'd carefully cleaned up her own poo.) Merry Christmas I guess? It seems pretty obvious that you shouldn't leave your dog's poo in a public place, but maybe there need to be signs to this effect. Just be careful where you walk your dog (and yourself) and you'll be fine.

My room had a concealed defect in the flooring beneath the rug that caused me to trip and fall into the couch. The room telephone also did not work, and the bathroom light flickered. I reported these problems and repeatedly contacted the hotel and Sonesta Customer Care seeking an appropriate resolution. I received only an approximately 10% adjustment. On August 14, Sonesta closed my complaint, stating that the hotel had identified the trip hazard and that I had already been compensated. Identifying the hazard does not erase the fact that I was placed in an unsafe room, nor does a small adjustment adequately resolve the condition of the room and the poor handling of my complaint. I requested that this matter be reconsidered and asked for a refund of the remaining charges, but the hotel has not provided a satisfactory resolution. Guests should be able to expect a safe room and a meaningful response when a hazardous condition is reported. Based on both the condition of my room and the way this complaint was handled, I cannot recommend this establishment.

I had reserved a Concierge Level King room at the Crowne Plaza Princeton Conference Center. When I arrived, housekeeping was still putting the finishing touches on it. The front desk radioed upstairs for an update and received only silence in return. There followed a few minutes of small talk, awkward smiles, and the peculiar sort of waiting that seems to stretch time itself. Then Jennifer looked at me and said, "You've stayed with us before, haven't you?" I nodded. "You're Platinum Elite?" Another nod. She thought for a moment and said, "Let's put him in the Presidential Suite." There are moments in life when the universe decides to be unexpectedly generous, and this was one of them. Many years ago I lived in Plainsboro. My first apartment there was a modest one bedroom third floor walk up. This suite was larger, significantly so. There was a huge living room, a dining table that could comfortably seat six, a kitchen area with a bar, and a spacious bedroom with a king bed. Then there was the bathroom, which felt less like a bathroom and more like a monument to indoor plumbing. The shower featured multiple shower panels and a waterfall shower head to go along with the handheld one. It also thoughtfully included bench seating inside, because surely I wasn't the only one who had considered spending enough time in it that a rest was warranted. The tub was so large and deep that a person could probably spend an entire afternoon contemplating their place in the universe in it. The room was, in a word, amazing. The property itself sits on a huge wooded area with streams and a private lake, with walking trails winding through the grounds. During an early evening stroll I crossed paths with a deer, who seemed entirely unbothered by my presence. The hotel also offers a huge indoor lap pool, an enormous fitness center, squash courts, tennis courts, and an indoor basketball court. It feels less like a hotel recreation center and more like a small summer camp hidden away in the wings. What surprised me most was how complete the experience felt. The hotel is directly connected to a substantial conference center featuring dozens of meeting rooms and a large amphitheater. I spent the following day working a conference there, and the facility was exceellent. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for people who need to gather, learn, and occasionally drink too much coffee. I arrived expecting a nice business hotel room. I left after spending a night in a suite bigger than my first apartment, walking beside a lake, and wondering if Jennifer at the front desk had any idea how much joy she had created with one simple decision. It was a great location and decent pricing if you're looking to stay somewhere prior to a concert at a local venue as all of the hotels around the venue were priced significantly higher.

Never Again! Over…read morethe past 13 months, we have spent a total of 15 nights at this property, so this review is based on multiple stays--not just one bad experience. The positives: The views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and Philadelphia are fantastic, and we have always found the property to be clean. Unfortunately, the front desk and management have guaranteed that we will NEVER stay here again. During our most recent stay, we simply wanted to add two additional nights to our reservation. Instead of receiving assistance, the front desk clerk became extremely rude, yelled at us, and called us "assholes" and "idiots," among other insults. Yes--all of this because we were trying to spend more money and stay two additional nights. What made the situation even worse was management's response. When we reported what had happened, instead of apologizing or trying to understand the situation, we were told: "You must have started this." After 15 nights at this property in just over a year, we certainly did not expect to be treated this way. Great views and a clean property cannot make up for being verbally abused by an employee and then blamed by management for that employee's behavior. We were only trying to ADD TWO NIGHTS! Needless to say, those will be the last nights we ever attempt to book here.

It is only about 20 minutes outside of Center City Philly, but feels a world away. Tucked away in a quiet location near a windy road surrounded on both sides with green trees everywhere. The hotel sits right on the Schuylkill River and the parking lot has an industrial look with old steel beams above it and an old railroad track near the hotel. There is also the Pencoyd Bridge which allows you to walk across the river and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail which is a roughly 2-mile trail along the river. Really beautiful setting. The interior of the hotel is nice, modern, and clean. The room was great with a full kitchen and the high ceilings (11-foot?) made the room feel very open and spacious. The beds were comfortable as well. There are two restaurants directly on the hotel premises. Lark and The Landing Kitchen (TLK). We did not try Lark but we ordered food from TLK twice. They have a small menu, but offer enough variety. The TLK burger was one of the best burgers I have had. The smoked turkey hoagie was solid. I would have liked to try the breakfast burrito but that will have to wait until next time. The hotel offers free breakfast from 6:00 - 9:00 a.m. and it was actually a very good breakfast. All your standard options like bagels, muffins, fruit, breakfast potatoes, eggs, bacon, coffee and juices. They also have waffle makers; the kind where you pour the batter in yourself. There are only two things that prevented this review from being a 5/5 star rating. The shower is very roomy but only half of the shower has glass, the other half is wide open. This made the water from the shower pool on the floor right outside of the shower where there is no glass. Not a huge deal, I just put a towel down. The other thing is that room service came into our room and emptied our trash cans but didn't do anything else. They did not restock the toilet paper, did not make the beds, did not provide clean towels, did not do anything else besides empty the trash cans in the room, which I thought was kind of weird. With that said, we loved our stay and it was the perfect location. We would like to go back and visit again soon.

Great visit to the Residence Inn at Bala Cydwyn for a mini Philadelphia getaway…read more While looking at various hotels in the Philadelphia area, including the downtown area, I saw there were lots of options but many only offered small rooms and charged upwards of $60 per night for parking. Others utilized parking garages "in the area" that were not connected with the hotel and I had some safety concerns with that. I have always enjoyed staying at Marriott's Residence Inns and saw that this one checked all the boxes: good reviews, free parking, free breakfast, fitness center, within minutes from eating options and only 15 minutes away from downtown Philadelphia. The immediate area of the hotel is unique in that it is surrounded by iron works and the hotel builds on that theme with some lovley decor throughout its space. The hotel is right off the Schuykill River. There is a great walking/running trail alongside the river there as well; the Pencoyd Trail. That entire area is separated from the rest of the town by I-95 and some train tracks...very safe and quiet. Check-in process was simple. The lobby was well-maintained with some business-center style computers off to the side. We ended up getting a studio suite with one king bed, sofabed and a kitchen. The room was great...the full-sized refrigerator, kitchen, microwave, iron, ironing board and large TV with adequate channels (including HBO) are always appreciated, especially when traveling with the family. The TV also allows you to sign into a few streaming apps, including Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime. Clean bathroom with good water pressure. Efficient climate control in the room as well. Quiet rooms...we didn't hear much outside noise. Ice machines were seemingly on every floor. There are two restaurants at the hotel...one is casual and the other a bit nicer. Hot tea and coffee, iced coffee, water and cookies are free and available at all times in the lobby. There is a "marketplace" shop that sells snacks and drinks in the lobby as well. There is an adequate fitness center, nice-sized pool, a game room (a few games) and a lovely lounge area with a fire place. The lounge area is a quite big and had some great soft/lounge seating throughout as well as lots of board games. A nice place to kill time before check-in or after check-out, or just relax. The stay price was a bit higher than some other options, but the extras and conveniences make up for that. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
