It is mainly industrial and you have to drive some time before you reach shopping centers. Our room was perfect enough for me to work in during the day and for everyone to sleep at night. Regarding the room, the only minor inconveniences were the room felt humid at times, I could hear the guy next door belching most of the time, the shower head was not working properly, and the foot shelf in the shower was coming off the wall. Breakfast time was my favorite on so many levels. The employee that was there every morning managing the breakfast was the best. I wish I asked for her name but I made sure to tip her because I was so grateful for her. She greeted me every morning and reloaded fresh items when I was there. It was so awesome because there was a lot of space to move around and some times I would be the only person there. All the items were fresh and I never left hungry. We discovered the first night they had a market but no wine or beer for sale. There were not many food options either-just snacks. I decided to order Uber Eats and we had a bottle wine so that worked for the first night. The staff here were friendly and the hotel was clean everywhere we went. I am not sure when we would be in this area again but if we are, this will be the place we stay at.

Something didn't seem right, so I had someone else call immediately after my last call The same employee who had just told me my shoes weren't there immediately told the other caller that the shoes had been found and simply asked for a FedEx shipping label to send them back. The fact that I was given false information multiple times by the same staff member was disappointing and unacceptable. While the hotel is clean, nice, and affordable, honesty and customer service matter just as much. I hope management addresses this issue so future guests don't have a similar experience.

I had reserved a Concierge Level King room at the Crowne Plaza Princeton Conference Center. When I arrived, housekeeping was still putting the finishing touches on it. The front desk radioed upstairs for an update and received only silence in return. There followed a few minutes of small talk, awkward smiles, and the peculiar sort of waiting that seems to stretch time itself. Then Jennifer looked at me and said, "You've stayed with us before, haven't you?" I nodded. "You're Platinum Elite?" Another nod. She thought for a moment and said, "Let's put him in the Presidential Suite." There are moments in life when the universe decides to be unexpectedly generous, and this was one of them. Many years ago I lived in Plainsboro. My first apartment there was a modest one bedroom third floor walk up. This suite was larger, significantly so. There was a huge living room, a dining table that could comfortably seat six, a kitchen area with a bar, and a spacious bedroom with a king bed. Then there was the bathroom, which felt less like a bathroom and more like a monument to indoor plumbing. The shower featured multiple shower panels and a waterfall shower head to go along with the handheld one. It also thoughtfully included bench seating inside, because surely I wasn't the only one who had considered spending enough time in it that a rest was warranted. The tub was so large and deep that a person could probably spend an entire afternoon contemplating their place in the universe in it. The room was, in a word, amazing. The property itself sits on a huge wooded area with streams and a private lake, with walking trails winding through the grounds. During an early evening stroll I crossed paths with a deer, who seemed entirely unbothered by my presence. The hotel also offers a huge indoor lap pool, an enormous fitness center, squash courts, tennis courts, and an indoor basketball court. It feels less like a hotel recreation center and more like a small summer camp hidden away in the wings. What surprised me most was how complete the experience felt. The hotel is directly connected to a substantial conference center featuring dozens of meeting rooms and a large amphitheater. I spent the following day working a conference there, and the facility was exceellent. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for people who need to gather, learn, and occasionally drink too much coffee. I arrived expecting a nice business hotel room. I left after spending a night in a suite bigger than my first apartment, walking beside a lake, and wondering if Jennifer at the front desk had any idea how much joy she had created with one simple decision. And very reasonably priced at $13.95. The room was very quiet - even though there is a NJTrantsit rail line very nearby. I never noticed the trains from inside the hotel. But what was really great was the two swimming pools! Inside is a quite shallow, very very warm pool. Outside is a much bigger pool that goes from 4 feet to 8.5 feet deep! I did witness a member of the staff cleaning the pool, so that was a good sign. Cons: The elevator (one of the two was out of service) was a bit wonky, so we had to wait longer than seemed normal a few times. The hotel is wedged between two enormous strip malls and is down the road from 30 others. Not particularly scenic or pleasant, but it's fine to sleep there.

Not many hotels met #2 and #3, but this one did. Breakfast is NOT free-it's $17.99 buffet style and kids eat free. Was it worth it for just me, no, but the price was fair to feed 3 of us. The pool was small but very warm on day 1. Day 2 had more people and it was colder. There is an outdoor pool too but this was a winter visit. The room was smaller than I expected but two queen beds still, a TV, and a small fridge. The bathroom had a Bluetooth in the mirror which my kids both loved. It was clean. Shoutout to housekeeping who stocked extra towels each day without asking. The only negative was our room faced a train track and I heard trains up until 11:30pm. Could have been later but I didn't hear because I was so exhausted from the day. My kids have requested a return trip and I'd be happy to stay here again.

It is only about 20 minutes outside of Center City Philly, but feels a world away. Tucked away in a quiet location near a windy road surrounded on both sides with green trees everywhere. The hotel sits right on the Schuylkill River and the parking lot has an industrial look with old steel beams above it and an old railroad track near the hotel. There is also the Pencoyd Bridge which allows you to walk across the river and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail which is a roughly 2-mile trail along the river. Really beautiful setting. The interior of the hotel is nice, modern, and clean. The room was great with a full kitchen and the high ceilings (11-foot?) made the room feel very open and spacious. The beds were comfortable as well. There are two restaurants directly on the hotel premises. Lark and The Landing Kitchen (TLK). We did not try Lark but we ordered food from TLK twice. They have a small menu, but offer enough variety. The TLK burger was one of the best burgers I have had. The smoked turkey hoagie was solid. I would have liked to try the breakfast burrito but that will have to wait until next time. The hotel offers free breakfast from 6:00 - 9:00 a.m. and it was actually a very good breakfast. All your standard options like bagels, muffins, fruit, breakfast potatoes, eggs, bacon, coffee and juices. They also have waffle makers; the kind where you pour the batter in yourself. There are only two things that prevented this review from being a 5/5 star rating. The shower is very roomy but only half of the shower has glass, the other half is wide open. This made the water from the shower pool on the floor right outside of the shower where there is no glass. Not a huge deal, I just put a towel down. The other thing is that room service came into our room and emptied our trash cans but didn't do anything else. They did not restock the toilet paper, did not make the beds, did not provide clean towels, did not do anything else besides empty the trash cans in the room, which I thought was kind of weird. With that said, we loved our stay and it was the perfect location. We would like to go back and visit again soon.

Great visit to the Residence Inn at Bala Cydwyn for a mini Philadelphia getaway…read more While looking at various hotels in the Philadelphia area, including the downtown area, I saw there were lots of options but many only offered small rooms and charged upwards of $60 per night for parking. Others utilized parking garages "in the area" that were not connected with the hotel and I had some safety concerns with that. I have always enjoyed staying at Marriott's Residence Inns and saw that this one checked all the boxes: good reviews, free parking, free breakfast, fitness center, within minutes from eating options and only 15 minutes away from downtown Philadelphia. The immediate area of the hotel is unique in that it is surrounded by iron works and the hotel builds on that theme with some lovley decor throughout its space. The hotel is right off the Schuykill River. There is a great walking/running trail alongside the river there as well; the Pencoyd Trail. That entire area is separated from the rest of the town by I-95 and some train tracks...very safe and quiet. Check-in process was simple. The lobby was well-maintained with some business-center style computers off to the side. We ended up getting a studio suite with one king bed, sofabed and a kitchen. The room was great...the full-sized refrigerator, kitchen, microwave, iron, ironing board and large TV with adequate channels (including HBO) are always appreciated, especially when traveling with the family. The TV also allows you to sign into a few streaming apps, including Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime. Clean bathroom with good water pressure. Efficient climate control in the room as well. Quiet rooms...we didn't hear much outside noise. Ice machines were seemingly on every floor. There are two restaurants at the hotel...one is casual and the other a bit nicer. Hot tea and coffee, iced coffee, water and cookies are free and available at all times in the lobby. There is a "marketplace" shop that sells snacks and drinks in the lobby as well. There is an adequate fitness center, nice-sized pool, a game room (a few games) and a lovely lounge area with a fire place. The lounge area is a quite big and had some great soft/lounge seating throughout as well as lots of board games. A nice place to kill time before check-in or after check-out, or just relax. The stay price was a bit higher than some other options, but the extras and conveniences make up for that. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
