What a gorgeous wedding venue! My fiancé and I attended his cousin's wedding here this past Friday. Unfortunately due to city traffic, we arrived only to catch the ending of the groom's vow. The ceremony happened inside a spacious well decorated barn. Full of character and unique beyond words. After the ceremony, The staff of the venue were well prepared for the summer fickle weather and were waiting for us by the exit with umbrellas to escort guests to the reception hall. Upon entering, we were greeted with well made cocktails and led to the sun room for cocktail hour. There were 4 separate stations (burgers, seafood, Peking duck, and bread and dips) with various small bites circulating throughout. My fav was the Brie French toasts which the server knew I would take at least half of her plate each time so she ended up chasing after me :) (Love the attention hehe) . The Peking duck was wrapped in home made crepe very different from the ones u get in restaurant. Had 3 myself before actual dinner, did not regret one bit! Burger station had home made chips with choices of pulled pork and angus beef. I couldn't stop myself from going back for more. Seafood station has cocktail shrimp, raw oysters and clam. Everything else was good but nothing too memorable. Definitely beyond full before actual dinner. After cocktail hr, we were led to the back of the estate for actual 3 course dinner. This space was truly breathtaking! Everything was so beautifully set up with the dance floor right in the center. We were officially served with our first course at 9pm which was a berry white chocolate salad. In between courses, speeches, dances, and games were played. We had a choice of sea bass or steak for main course. Both entrees were served with a side of potato casserole and salteed asparagus. Definitely one of the best wedding food I had thus far. Towards the end of the night we were served the wedding cake as dessert. My only complaint was that it was a one bite slice. The cake was 4 tier cake for only for about 100 guests - did someone else take a bite? Wished there was a separate dessert station for my sweet tooth but prob better for my wedding diet that they didn't. Exactly at 12 they began clearing the whole reception space and we were told to move back towards the cocktail hour space for after party. To our surprise we were greeted with warm cookies, coffee, tea and more liquor. Definitely the best wedding venue attended thus far. Wished this venue was closer to the city or i would had definitely considered it for my wedding too! read more

I just had my wedding at Ashford on Jan 9th- and everything was beyond incredible! The grounds alone are breathtaking- the perfect white washed barn, to the estate and the amazing ballroom. The flow of the event was easy and spacious- even for 250. The staff, especially Laura D were great and really made us feel at home. Each room was impeccable, with its own character. I highly recommend having your wedding there! And please invite me- I can't wait to go back! read more

This place was amazing. I don't know where to start with this review, but I'll try not to ramble. My long time college friends got married here two weekends ago, and I was impressed with everything about the space. The chapel in the barn for the wedding. The cocktail hour spread across the library & the conservatory. The reception in the grand ballroom. The endless beautifully landscaped grounds for people to walk around and enjoy. And... you have the options of staying in their guest suits upstairs in the main house if you'd like to stay there the evening of your wedding. WOW! I don't know if it was just because these friends were so close to me, or if the venue was the kicker, but this wedding truly had the feeling of a fairy-tale. The only negative I had was that at times, it seems like the program coordinator seemed a bit lost and unsure what was actually supposed to happen when. I'll definitely recommend this venue to people looking to have their wedding near this area! read more

Recently engaged and was looking forward to exploring this as a possible venue for my upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, I did not even get that chance. I called countless times over the span of three weeks, all at different times of the day and was sent to voicemail every single time. Every time I was sent to voicemail, the voicemail box was full. I even tried emailing asking to book a tour, it has been close to three weeks now and I have still not been acknowledged. If this is the level of customer service they provide, I am glad I did not book here because I imagine this lack of help follows through to the day of. Unacceptable and disappointing. read more

Attended a wedding at the Ashford. The property is lush and sumptuous. The estate is well manicured and exceptionally kept. The inside of the venue in both spaces, the estate and the building behind were immaculate. Both spaces as well as the outside of the property made quite an impression. With that being said the weekend I attended the wedding, was a heatwave in June, I think everyone remembers what a dreadful situation the weather had been in June of this year. We started out in the main mansion for the cocktail reception it was quite amazing I was so impressed with all the food stations the food and service was lovely. Everything was absolutely perfect. When it was time to go into the next building for the reception, I noticed how beautiful the space was however, I also noticed it was quite warm. As it turned out the air conditioning was actually broken. It was absolutely unbearable in that wedding space and people stayed for the bride and groom's sake. Although the venue managed to fix the air conditioning that evening, the reception and dinner was unsalvagable, and due to the heat many of the guests ended up leaving during dinner. What really chapped me was the fact that the staff clearly knew there was a problem and allowed the wedding to continue in that room regardless. At the very least they should have had the reception occur in the mansion where people could remain comfortable. Moreover, no one came to refill water on the tables and no one came to assure the comfort of the guests serving ice in the glasses or setting up fans or anything. As the DJ played people were wiping their faces and the room became hotter and hotter. Although the air-conditioning finally came on there was absolutely no way to cool a space that size in time . Quite frankly the bride and groom should have been given part of their money back. I understand situations happen, however, they did not have an Individual with the white and wherewithal to create the proper event for the bride and groom. read more

I had my wedding there (190 people) and I absolutely loved the venue and my meeting with the initial people with merrimakers. Grounds are gorgeous, staff were nice, plenty of spaces for pictures!! The food was also amazing! There was also great room on the dance floor! The only thing I think was the downfall was: 1) the staff situation- I think the groomsmen need a bridal attendant. Even with an itinerary I made and sent out to all vendors everyone was still all over the place. I had to worry to make sure things were getting done on the guys end (opening gifts, etc) I wish someone was there taking charge instead of me having to worry about this. 2) Feeling rushed. If staying over you can't check in until later in the day (this is problematic if you have a big bridal party 7-9 maids/groomsmen) I wanted sometime to sit back and enjoy time a little bit more while getting ready. 3) Some of my decorations were not put out for the after party which I paid money for, I went over this with them and I had bins clearly labeled. Aside from those. The venue itself again was a dream come true for both my fiancé and I. I particularly loved my one bridal attendant Lisa she was so helpful! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, it's a fairy tale place to get married! read more

We had our daughter's wedding there this past fall and could not have had a more perfect experience. Since the wedding every family member or friend who attended continue to tell us it was the best wedding event they ever attended. The coordination of activities, the food and the atmosphere were all better than expected or planned. Ok. Tough review to write but here we go. My daughter's wedding was this past weekend. The Ashford Estate is an amazing venue. The three unique spaces - wedding barn, conservatory and reception hall are all beyond anything you will ever see. The booking coordinator, Laura, was a pleasure to work with and was attentive to every detail and phone call for the months leading to the event. Our guests were wowed! The food was exquisite. Our only complaint was the coordinator that was assigned to us on the big day. After going over every minute detail the day before, it was not carried out as planned. Prior to lining up to walk down the aisle, my husband said "it seems so disorganized" and I would have to agree. The timing of the ceremony was off and should have been more coordinated. But more importantly, the liquor caterers and this coordinator did not have their timing straight which led to a closed bar prior to the cocktail hour ending. The timing of the dinner was totally off which was surprising since I thought every detail was covered. It was stated that it was to be dancing, then dinner, then the second set of dancing. It wasn't even close. They served dinner prior to the band even coming out. It felt rushed. There were several instances of servers not being attentive - one table never got coffee and one friend leaving with a centerpiece was told to return it to the table. I would definitely recommend this venue but I would just make ABSOLUTELY sure all the ducks are in a row with the coordinator. I am a detail person and this was my third wedding of my children. I know what works and what doesn't. It would have been a flawless event if not for the missed timing. read more
