I attended a wedding and reception at Wiegands on 8-21-21…read more The venue is beautiful and the food was very good. Should have upgrades in paper plates ( too small) and cutlery ( higher grade of forks, knives, etc.) Also, only plastic cups for wine. Everything else has to be consumed in the can. But, overall, a very enjoyable experience there.

I have had the opportunity to visit this fun, family-friendly park on a few occasions. Even if you are the last one there, you are bound to get a great spot! As soon as we get there my kids go straight to the food, which is ample and a perfect selection for an outdoor gathering. Let's see, they had ribs, hamburgers, vegan-friendly veggie burgers, potato salad, baked beans, brownies, watermelon and the list goes on! I am always impressed with their soda selection! Diet cream soda does it for me every time! They have a nice, manned lake with paddle boats and canoes. There are a few different playgrounds, most of which, are in the shade. They recently added larger-than-life wooden rockers! There is a little area where kids can redeem tickets for prizes. The soft-served ice cream (vegan, by the way!) and cold novelties are always a hit! They provide hayrides which offer great history of the park and family that owns it. You'll see softball fields and many photo opportunities in the gazebo, pavilion and around the lake. The restrooms are very clean! So, go visit this wonderful, scenic, family-owned gem! I bet you won't be disappointed! You can bring your own entertainment: clowns, magicians, face painters, etc. This would be a perfect place for a wedding and family reunions!

Not to mention, I got great cell phone service...you know, just in case an isolated incident... I think we walked at least 5 miles. We saw trees, birds, fish and a golf course at the end. We picked flowers for grandma too. I think that was probably illegal, but it made me feel like a sort of rebel teaching our kids that it was ok. And grandma didn't hand spank us for doing so either, so I guess it was ok. Lots of rain the days before, so the river was high and full. Might I mention that the weather this day was perfect? A little chill in the air, dry, and clear. Oh how I love these types of days! We did however have to borrow some of grandma's attire...we needed jackets. I would post a picture, but I am afraid that you will find that we are too much of a sexy bunch to our fellow Yelpers. Michelle did forget to mention the open holed toilets at the entrance. It was like peeing into darkness. I looked in the hole before I sat. That was the scariest part.

Always a nice walk. Lots of birds chatting back and worth. One trail is paved. One trail is gravel…read morethat you ride a bicycle on. The gravel path is an old railroad line that went from Cleveland and split toward Chardon and Middlefield. Signs tell the history. The Blue Heron rookery is way out in the woods, and is not visible to see.
