Ledges trail

This is a really nice little park for it's location. It's in the middle of a residential area and I would never expect to find something like it so close. We came here recently for a quick afternoon hike when we were in town visiting my parents. The visitor's center is incredibly nice. There are new bathrooms that are better clean. They also have rocking chairs looking out the window. We did the ledges trail which was about a mile long. It was pretty easy overall with only one small hill. The views along the ledges are really pretty and it's hard to believe you're in the middle of residential Ohio. It was fairly muddy on the trail when we were there. If you live in the area, I highly recommend checking out this gorgeous and well maintained park in your backyard!

A bit of history for Liberty Park.

What a great trek on the Bear Trail. More of a moderate hike. Beautiful scenery. I think because we have been so cooped up you could really smell the fresh air. Thank you to all those prior to us that didn't litter!! Very clean trail.

Amazing views. Very short trails, we took the 1 mile ledge trail, finished it under an hour, while stopping to take LOTS of pictures. Kids loved it, it was a very easy "hike". Would definitely recommend checking this place out

This new Metropark is excellent. The property in terms of acreage is one of the largest Metroparks in Summit County, but the trail network is in its infancy. But I don't hold that against it because the park has only been open since May! The parking lot is ample and the informational signage is prominent. Trail maps, trail marker explanations, lots of plaques with fun facts. After checking out the awesome nature center with the fanciest bathrooms of any park I have ever been to, we hiked the trail down through the ledges and wetlands and then the paved upper trail. Such a beautiful combination of cool glacier formations, pretty trees, lush wetlands, and open prairie. If I were looking for a place to host a big family party, I'd look into renting the nature center and the surrounding pavilion. That it tops the lodge at Happy Days in Peninsula and the Seiberling Nature Realm in Akron is saying a lot about its beauty as a park facility!

This local Twinsburg park is such a great place to explore! As a photographer, it makes for great backdrops, from the wooded hiking trails and fields, to the nature center and gardens. There is a great dog park attached to it as well. Images by Jennifer Elizabeth Photography.

Website clearly stated this park was pet friendly. We didn't get to enjoy the park though because as soon as we pulled up with my pup, we saw multiple "no pets allowed" signs. Disappointed that the website was incorrect and we drive all this way for nothing.

This metropark was better before they added the nature center, it is a waste of money to add the nature center since the trail is very small

We immediately went to the park, and my kids had an absolute blast. They're 3 and 1, but I saw plenty of older kids having fun as well. We checked out the lake, which was super pretty (watch out for goose poop!). I noticed some people fishing, and it looked like there were canoes around too! We then decided to have some lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables, so finding a spot to sit is not a problem. We ended the visit with one more trip to the park and then left. My kids were EXHAUSTED afterward, and I always appreciate a place that can tire them out. I'd like to visit again on a solo trip and walk a few miles around the lake next time!

There's a nearby park that has alot of activities for kids, decent restrooms and even canoe rentals. We hiked the entire trail around the pond and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It can be really muddy depending on when you go. Structures are in solid standing. Trail features small slopes so it's not completely flat. Great place to visit.

Brandywine Falls located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of my favorite places to hike…read more The Brandywine Falls area is easy to access, the main parking lot is located on Brandywine Road and is next to the falls themselves. There is a bathroom and water fountain here, so it is a nice stop on the bike and hike trail which passes by the falls. The falls is the tallest, one of the largest and most visited falls in Ohio, it is also one of the highlights of the National Park. The park has created a boardwalk that allows you to go into the gorge and get some great views of the falls. The boardwalk does have some steep stairs and you should be careful on your way down and back up. The falls is very picturesque and will give you different looks depending on the amount of water in the stream, the time of the year and the time of day. While the falls are great I really enjoy the hikes that are available in connection with the falls. The hikes take you down the gorge and there is a bridge that allows you to cross the stream and come back up the other side. The South side hike is a bit away from the stream and is mainly through the woods on hard dirt trails; there is a bit of ups and downs including some stairs and stream crossings on bridges. The North side trail is along the river and gorge and is steeper and can be a bit of a scramble. The total loop is about 1 1/2 miles with a nice bit of vertical for its length. You can also do longer hikes to the Stanford House or the Boston Mills visitor center. One of the things I enjoy is seeing the falls and the gorge in different seasons. During the summer the lot is usually full during most of the day, the gorge offers a rather cool and shady area when the day is hot. Fall has the changing leaves and cooler temperatures. Winter creates a whole different look. Finally, spring gives you the rushing stream and the transition from winter to summer. If you haven't been to Brandywine Falls you need to plan a visit, if you haven't been there recently it is well worth a return visit.

This waterfall is impressive for being in Ohio and it attracts many people to it. If you are able to do stairs, I recommend checking it out. It's a short walk from the parking lot. The entrance is easily seen from the parking lot. The ramp/stairs (wood) can be slippery due to the weather, so be careful. The rock formation hangs slightly over as well. You are also able to hike the border too. It's a very nice area. I definitely recommend checking it out just be mindful and keep it clean. Respect the area.

Longwood Park - Disappointing view

At first glance this park is beautiful, the drive up towards the main parking area is surrounded by…read moretrees and offers a large pond with fountain. There is also a large overlook where you can sit & enjoy the view. However, the view was a bit frustrating as the entire pond had large amounts of trash surrounding the edges. You can fish here but it is strictly catch & release. Although, other than a large amount of dead snails & fish I'm not sure what you'll find. I realize the pond was low but this should make it all the more easier to maintain. There are at least two trails winding through the woods but it's difficult to tell which path you're on on where to go. The only signage marking the paths are random planks of badly weathered wood with dull red or blue paint. Some are broken and lying at the base of trees, others were attached to trunks but blended in with the bark. Perhaps new signs with bright colors would be more suitable for visitors. The trails are wide dirt paths with very few obstructions, however you might get stuck in the mud if it's damp out...I would not recommend these trails if you're in a wheelchair. Towards the back of the property is an ugly cookie cutter development- such an eye sore! And the trails are littered with broken benches but are very quiet & relaxing. There's even a neat old fireplace and a few pavilions with grills. It also offers a large playground and huge field. I think if the park was cleaned up a bit & things were fixed it would be one I would return to regularly.
