You can hear but not see the falls as you are walking down the wooden stairs from town. Once I saw the falls they were larger than I imagined. There is a long stairway from the main street down to the falls. There are areas to stop and rest, it is a long walk down and back up. The falls are very picturesque and it is worth the trip to see them. The water was running pretty fast during my visit. I am sure other times of the year it is much slower. read more

Will NEVER ever go to Chagrin Falls again.. went there found a parking spot by the CLOSED bank. Went and spent about about $800 including wine, dinner etc. Come back 2 hours later and guess what we had a parking ticket ( $20). In there defense there was a sign and writing on the ground ( my wife was driving ) but didn't see it.. now remember the bank wasn't open. This was nothing but a $ grab ( since there were a lot of spots ) which is fine but this is the LAST time I will go there and spend my $ again. When we were leaving we saw a guy ( driving a tiny little Fiat) who looked like he got enjoyment out of giving tickets. So congrats you got $20 and lost the $$$$ we would have spent in the future. read more

This little town is beyond charming, friendly, historic and breathtaking with the waterfall in the center of the town. If your into the holidays; especially Christmas its decorated like a scence from a Hallmark movie. Im sure with snow would be beyond beautiful. Located close to Cleveland and recommend everyone to visit; even if its just once in their lifetime, you'll feel the magic and charm . read more

We came to Chagrin Falls to get Jeni's and had to stop by and see the falls. There's street parking, but we opted to park in the big parking lot by Heinen's (and even that was packed). The falls is cool to see. My husband commented on how muddy it is. It's usually crowded by the falls, but people must have been focused on the street market going on because it was empty when we were there. Take some time to walk along the river on the other side of the street. It's really pretty and I like it even better than the falls. It's a neat thing to stop and see when you're in Chagrin Falls. read more

Sunday we had a full day of northern Ohio Waterfalls. We got up early and hit the road by 7:30 and didn't get home till dark. We had a list of of 7 waterfalls to try and see in 1 day. To even get to the first fall will take 3 1/2 hours and same to get home so this will be a long day and not sure we will see all on the list. We'd read all are just a short walk to see but traffic and other unforeseen issues can always change your day. Ideally we would spend the night up in that area so we could see more and not be rushed. Because of our dogs decline in health (she's paralyzed in her back legs) we are limited to how long we can go and what we can do. We didn't bring her because the falls are not stroller friendly. Most people are only limited by covid right now .. we also have our pugs issues. We had been to Chagrin falls once before on previous trip but had only spent a moment looking at the falls in front of the popcorn shop that is in a little park. It's obviously a manmade fall but it was still cute. We didn't know the real falls was behind the popcorn shop ... we totally missed it the first time. This time we saw it and being spring with rain recently there was alot of water rushing and really nice falls. It was a weekend so there were lots of people. Obviously would have been nice to come through the week when less crowd but still an enjoyable visit. The town is SUPER cute ... nice restaurants and shops. I wanted to buy some popcorn and Jenny's ice cream but we were short on time and lines were long. Wanted to eat lunch at the french cafe but they were only open for diner and don't think they opened at all on Sundays. read more

And the chagrin waterfalls have water galore. The chagrin river rages over a falls between a Starbucks and the popcorn shop, which is great planning and the town should be commended for putting the falls there. When the weather is fair, there are stairs you can ascend to get a close up look at this miracle. If you are brave, you can even venture out upon the rocks that rise from the river. While visiting the falls, why not make a day of it and have a meal of food or stroll in the park and feed the ducks. read more

A cute natural park in the heart of a suburban city! Chagrin Falls is a sweet little town made even better by its non-manmade water falls. The great part about the Falls is the proximity to local businesses. You can get a scoop of ice cream, shop, wander a few art galleries and enjoy this natural park once you're winding down. There's a boardwalk that takes you down the incline to the rocks at the bottom, or you can hang around the common areas, which are pristine with cool outdoor sculptures, benches and well-manicured flowers. Its a nice spot to sit and relax with a book, take photos, or just enjoy a cup of coffee from a nearby stop. Regardless of season, the Chagrin Water Falls are always worth a visit. Gorgeous natural park!! Located smack dab in the middle of downtown chagrin falls, an adorable historic little town! Such a charming place with plenty to do! Whether you are bringing the kiddos for a fun afternoon on the playground next to the river, or heading out for date night, there is something for everyone. This is a pretty cool little pit stop if you find yourself in the area. It's not the most impressive waterfall in the world, but its a nice way to spend the afternoon. I've seen some other pretty great waterfalls, (Niagara, Snoqualmie, Minnehaha), but this was impressive too. The spring runoff is beginning and there is a tremendous rush of water right now. I like the different viewing decks to check it out from. You can get some nice views from the bridge and other interesting views from the park that runs alongside it before the falls. This is a wonderful view to behold, regardless of the season. We had our family photos taken here last winter; the holiday lights, rushing falls, holiday music from nearby shops. It was wonderful! Not that any of that got my sons in the mood to smile for the photos ;-) but that is another topic! If you have the chance to visit the falls, you definitely should. Stop by the popcorn shop, too! Looking for the perfect day-trip get away? Then you must visit Chagrin Water Falls! There are two water falls located on either side of the bridge on Main Street. Now, this ain't no Niagara Falls, but it's located in such a peaceful and serene environment that it's worth the trip :) There are a few benches conveniently located in the view point areas, and they are the perfect spots for hanging out, pondering about life, and reading a great book! So purdy. It's nice that there are 2 falls (one on each side of the bridge). I loved coming to the falls when I was in high school and climbing underneath the bridge (in retrospect, kind of illegal/dangerous...but when you're 16 who thinks like that?) On a hot summer day in Cleveland, sitting by the falls eating a twist ice cream cone from the Popcorn Shop is one of my top 5 things to do. read more

I take a picture in front of the falls every time I'm in Ohio. You can literally watch me grow up in front of these falls. I see the falls nearly every day and always love it As a resident of Chagrin Falls I descend the steps on the Southern side of the falls during my daily walk and it never fails to impress. Throughout the year it's always a sight to see, and I especially enjoy seeing how differences in rainfall and temperature change it. Nestled between the Popcorn Shop (which also sells ice cream) and Starbucks on the street above, the falls can be enjoyed from public viewing areas on either side of the river or from the comfort of Jekyll's Kitchen (a restaurant on the Northern side.) If you have the chance to go, please do, and enjoy more of the local color while you're at it. Pros: Beautiful waterfall, great location in a charming village. Cons: Stairs and viewing areas are magnets for people (kids?) with with melting and dripping ice-cream who don't always seem to find the waste receptacles. read more
