This little town is beyond charming, friendly, historic and breathtaking with the waterfall in the center of the town. If your into the holidays; especially Christmas its decorated like a scence from a Hallmark movie. Im sure with snow would be beyond beautiful. Located close to Cleveland and recommend everyone to visit; even if its just once in their lifetime, you'll feel the magic and charm .

Chagrin Falls is a town fresh out of a 50s Disney movie or a picture book, and the falls are no different. Definitely stop by during your visit!

We came to Chagrin Falls to get Jeni's and had to stop by and see the falls. There's street parking, but we opted to park in the big parking lot by Heinen's (and even that was packed). The falls is cool to see. My husband commented on how muddy it is. It's usually crowded by the falls, but people must have been focused on the street market going on because it was empty when we were there. Take some time to walk along the river on the other side of the street. It's really pretty and I like it even better than the falls. It's a neat thing to stop and see when you're in Chagrin Falls.

So beautiful! Take a walk nearby or have dinner or dessert. It's peaceful and relaxing, but loud near the falls.

Sunday we had a full day of northern Ohio Waterfalls. We got up early and hit the road by 7:30 and didn't get home till dark. We had a list of of 7 waterfalls to try and see in 1 day. To even get to the first fall will take 3 1/2 hours and same to get home so this will be a long day and not sure we will see all on the list. We'd read all are just a short walk to see but traffic and other unforeseen issues can always change your day. Ideally we would spend the night up in that area so we could see more and not be rushed. Because of our dogs decline in health (she's paralyzed in her back legs) we are limited to how long we can go and what we can do. We didn't bring her because the falls are not stroller friendly. Most people are only limited by covid right now .. we also have our pugs issues. We had been to Chagrin falls once before on previous trip but had only spent a moment looking at the falls in front of the popcorn shop that is in a little park. It's obviously a manmade fall but it was still cute. We didn't know the real falls was behind the popcorn shop ... we totally missed it the first time. This time we saw it and being spring with rain recently there was alot of water rushing and really nice falls. It was a weekend so there were lots of people. Obviously would have been nice to come through the week when less crowd but still an enjoyable visit. The town is SUPER cute ... nice restaurants and shops. I wanted to buy some popcorn and Jenny's ice cream but we were short on time and lines were long. Wanted to eat lunch at the french cafe but they were only open for diner and don't think they opened at all on Sundays.

Perfect falls to check out. Easy walk down to the falls and lots of parking and restaurants nearby. It was worth the side trip and I wish we had something like this in my area.

Water. It is the one ingredient without which life cannot exist, whether a single cell amoeba or a mighty blue whale. Humans are drawn to it, like a moth to a spiderweb. And the chagrin waterfalls have water galore. The chagrin river rages over a falls between a Starbucks and the popcorn shop, which is great planning and the town should be commended for putting the falls there. When the weather is fair, there are stairs you can ascend to get a close up look at this miracle. If you are brave, you can even venture out upon the rocks that rise from the river. While visiting the falls, why not make a day of it and have a meal of food or stroll in the park and feed the ducks.

A cute natural park in the heart of a suburban city! Chagrin Falls is a sweet little town made even better by its non-manmade water falls. The great part about the Falls is the proximity to local businesses. You can get a scoop of ice cream, shop, wander a few art galleries and enjoy this natural park once you're winding down. There's a boardwalk that takes you down the incline to the rocks at the bottom, or you can hang around the common areas, which are pristine with cool outdoor sculptures, benches and well-manicured flowers. Its a nice spot to sit and relax with a book, take photos, or just enjoy a cup of coffee from a nearby stop. Regardless of season, the Chagrin Water Falls are always worth a visit. Even in the winter, it makes for an interesting, icy photo opportunity. I agree with Maggie R - make a little trip to this suburban city, do a day of shopping and enjoy the views!

Gorgeous natural park!! Located smack dab in the middle of downtown chagrin falls, an adorable historic little town! Such a charming place with plenty to do! Whether you are bringing the kiddos for a fun afternoon on the playground next to the river, or heading out for date night, there is something for everyone. Very diverse selection of restaurants, vegan cafe, Italian, cheese shop, olive shop, amazing burgers, sushi, ice cream, popcorn, the list goes on! On weekend evenings in the summer there are usually bands playing on the street too. One of my favorite places in northeastern Ohio.

Had a wonderful day walking around all the shops and hanging out with the family. The falls was a beautiful picture-filled place. The sound of the water crushing down the breeze flowing thru your hair. Worth seeing!!

You can't beat nature and this place is Amazing from the little shops to the popcorn shop.I could sit here all day and listen to the waterfall and just feel free

There's a large turtle here, can you find him?

We spend quite a bit of time in Chagrin Falls being that we live about 15 minutes away. If you're from out of town, you should include this town on your list of things to do during your visit. This is a nice weather kind of place to visit, but there are plenty of stores, bars, and restaurants to browse if the weather is less than ideal.

Our absolute favorite place. We love walking around enjoying the beautiful landscaping and amazing waterfalls. We went last week and I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't busy. A perfect day for social distancing.

It's the picture perfect representation of Americana. Expect I personally think it's all fake. I have a like/hate relationship with the Falls. It feels too commercialized to be real, like the town it capitalizing on the small american lifestyle without actually being "small America". Maybe I've seen Pleasantville one too many times but this place just seems off. The stores aren't actually local, the restaurants aren't really run by families, the Starbucks is the most frequented stop, and unless you're making a hefty yearly salary, you just feel unwelcome. Or at least that's how I feel when I'm here. One time I had my NPR bumper sticker stolen off my car here. Now I don't know about you, but I don't think they wanted it for themselves. It was more like they didn't want that kind of riffraff in their town. Also, (this is the last thing I swear) no public transportation runs through Chagrin Falls. I have written to town hall about this because I think 1: it's discriminatory and 2: it's terrible marketing. Take it as you will, I'm just not a fan.

So on a recent road trip to the Cleveland area (we're from Buffalo NY), we decided to take in some Garfield history. There are three historic sites all within about a half hour of each other: his birthplace, his later home, and his gravesite. We made it to the first two on this trip, Garfield's birthplace being our first stop. Garfield is know as the last of the log cabin presidents. His birthplace cabin is located in a municipal building complex. It is clearly marked from the road, and there is plenty of parking in the lot. Garfield's original birthplace cabin no longer exists, but is known to have been in walking distance from where this careful recreation now stands. No images of his actual cabin exist either, but detailed journal entries about its dimensions and style do, which are the basis for this cabin. When you park, there is a short brick trail that is clearly marked as leading to the Garfield cabin. We visited at a time the cabin was not open, but saw that from April to September there are Saturday tours. We also visited when the weather was less than ideal, so didn't walk the trails behind the cabin. The trail leads to where the actual cabin is speculated to have been. Near the cabin is a statue of Garfield and a few other placards explaining some historical significances. There is also a QR code for a self-walking audio tour. We listened to the audio tour on the drive home, very interesting! Lots to explore in Ohio if US presidents are also your jam! :-D The Garfield birthplace cabin is a great stop to see where our 20th US president came from, and his modest beginnings in the Ohio countryside. On our visit, the snow-covered cabin was a lovely stop to learn more about this fascinating, and unfortunately short-lived American president.

But for as long as their will be packs of teenagers in the community and local athletes training here, its probably going to be a little messy...and I think the other kids who work here do the best they can to keep those areas clean and nice. That's a vicious cycle of teenage messiness. If you're looking for a basic place to work out, the Solon Rec is the best option in the area. The first floor has a rock wall, weights, gymnasium and indoor/outdoor pool, while the second floor has machines, a track and a private exercise room. There's also a Senior Center downstairs, as well as kid programming that occurs. There's plenty of windows and natural light, which I appreciate. I've also never waited for a machine, particularly a treadmill or elliptical, and there's a decent wi-fi connect to stream music or check emails. The whole concept is open and spacious, which is a welcome reprise from gyms with wacky colors and super bright lights that just stress me out. I've also never had an issue finding a parking spot, so extra points there. In the summer, the outdoor pool gets pretty packed. This seems to be the hot seller here. But if you're just looking for a casual place to workout, I highly recommend the rec center for all your treadmill needs. The City is lucky to have such a modern facility!
