Fall is my favorite season to come here because the view from the overlook is so good! The trails are well marked, and there's plenty of parking. It's also easy to string multiple trails together if you're looking for a longer hike.

Went on an evening hike at this beautiful park tonight. (Not enough snow for the planned snow shoes). Fortunately had a guide which gave us good options. Most of the trail was lit up by hanging lights. They offered head lamps for everyone which came in handy for the not lit path the group chose. The view at the top was amazing and you truly can see downtown Cleveland. Everyone who worked there was friendly. Outside fire pit to warm up. Full facility restrooms available. Will come back again and try some snowshoes or cross country skiing.

Nice paths. First hill is quite a challenge. Bikes are welcome. Beautiful rock formations. Stellar view of downtown Cleveland, Euclid and lake from tallest point on trail. Picture perfect sunsets!!!

Nice little park! Clean, well marked and maintained hiking trails. Picnic areas and facilities. Wishing I stumbled upon this park at the beginning of my stay instead of on my last day in the area.

Meditating at the overlook :)

Not to mention, I got great cell phone service...you know, just in case an isolated incident... I think we walked at least 5 miles. We saw trees, birds, fish and a golf course at the end. We picked flowers for grandma too. I think that was probably illegal, but it made me feel like a sort of rebel teaching our kids that it was ok. And grandma didn't hand spank us for doing so either, so I guess it was ok. Lots of rain the days before, so the river was high and full. Might I mention that the weather this day was perfect? A little chill in the air, dry, and clear. Oh how I love these types of days! We did however have to borrow some of grandma's attire...we needed jackets. I would post a picture, but I am afraid that you will find that we are too much of a sexy bunch to our fellow Yelpers. Michelle did forget to mention the open holed toilets at the entrance. It was like peeing into darkness. I looked in the hole before I sat. That was the scariest part.

Having done another hike at Hinckley Reservation I realized I had not posted a review for one of…read morethe gems of the Cleveland Metroparks system. Hinckley offers as diverse a range of activities and some of the best view as any other park in the area. Most people know Hinckley from the annual Buzzard festival, the nice lake and the awesome ledges, but that is just scratching the surface. With the newly renovated dam and the lake refilled Hinckley Reservation is once again at its peak. I have often hiked at Hinckley, my most recent hike started at the Top of the Ledges picnic area, went down through the Ledges, along the North side of the Hinckley Lake Loop, on the Bridal Trails and then the Buckeye Trail back through the Ledges. If you are looking for some interesting hiking the Bridal Trails provide some nice variety from open fields, stream crossings, hills and narrow winding trails. Whipp's Ledges are some of the most impressive you will see; they provide multiple routes and views, plus there is actual rock climbing allowed. Less well known are Worden's Ledges on the other side of the park which while smaller still are lots of fun and they have some interesting carvings that are well worth visiting. The Lake provides the opportunity for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. There is a nice boathouse where you can rent a boat at reasonable rate, and while not terribly challenging, the lake is picturesque and getting out on the water is always a great time. Although I have never taken advantage at the bottom of the dam there is a nice beach and swimming area. Hinckley Reservation is a wonderful asset and a great way to get outside and enjoy yourself. This is a large park with plenty to do and see. Never been disappointed with a visit here.

They had so many t-shirts and sweatshirts with the Cleveland Metro Park logos and scenery. I bought one months ago in pink with a squirrel on it. I also like their selection of plush toys, kids gifts, socks, etc. Please go in and have a cup of coffee and support the park. The trail is definitely an adventure as you walk around the park, and now IT's FULL OF WATER AGAIN!! As you walk look at the color of the trees, the trees that are barely hanging on, and the trees that became part of the waterscape! Beauty! As you get to the beach are and new dam you can appreciate all of the work put into getting this back and better than it was. So get your FITBIT, Apple Watch or any pedometer type technology and start steppin'. Say hello to my friends at the store. Let them know Cee Cee sent you! Lol
