This park is an ideal destination for easy hiking, wildflower and butterfly sightseeing, workshops, and nature education for kids. I visited this park for Birch Bark Basket Workshop , and LOVED it. I also wandered in the park, visited the nature center, and checked out the prairie. All highly recommended experiences. Park: GPS'ing "9000 Chippewa Rd, Brecksville" will direct you right to the large parking lot by the Harriet Keeler Memorial Picnic Area. The picnic area has a lodge covered gazebo and a very lively playground. Take the path to your right to discover Brecksville Nature Center and Trailside Program Center. Both buildings are newly updated and clearly labeled. The Nature Center offers a sensory inclusive location for all ages. Inside the nature center you'll find creatures (frogs, bugs, and snakes), a cozy bird watching window, a kids play area, and scavenger hunts for the kids. There is a scenic Tallgrass Prairie with tall grass, plants, and beautiful wildflowers. I did not wander deep into the park, but noticed that hiking paths are flat, and easy to navigate. Park maps are available online and right by the parking lot. You can also find a folded map in the Nature Center. While the park is vast, I didn't have any issues with navigation. That's coming from someone who can get lost anywhere. Service: I interacted with a few park employees and volunteers over the phone and during my visit. Everyone was very friendly, patient with me during registration, and workshop. It's definitely the friendliest Metropark! Workshops/Events: Brecksville Reservation (and other Metroparks) host really fun nature-related programs for all ages. I'm surprised that more people haven't yet discovered these programs. Some programs are free, others have low cost. Look for programs online or grab flyers at the Nature Center. The next most anticipated event at the Brecksville Reservation is FallFest: 18th Century Festival. It's a free event with folk music, American Revolution flair, cider, and more! My recent visit was to partake in the Birch Bark Basket Workshop at the Trailside Program Center. The center is very minimalistic and is used for programming. It's spacious and comfortable to craft in. All attendees had so much fun! We made our own baskets from birch bark, learned about the many uses and types of birch, and interacted with each other. I loved my experience and plan to make more birch tree crafts at home! I highly recommend visiting the Brecksville Reservation. You'll love the vastness if you're a hiker. You'll enjoy the easy hiking trails and the predominance of wildflowers if you're a wanderer. Your kids will enjoy the playground, the Nature Center, and being in nature. The park feels suitable for all to enjoy. I can't wait until my next visit in the fall to watch gorgeous foliage.

Weather was absolutely gorgeous low 70s sunny no bugs no mud. I had never been here and they hadn't done the trails with the rock ledges and caves. We started with the easy meadow loops then went in the woods. The trail in the woods wasn't marked and there were times it was questionable which way to go. I regretted not bringing a stick or hiking poles for the woods but all turned out great. Nice park! I saw in a review someone complained dogs weren't allowed but I think that was just certain trails because several were walking with dogs.

It's one of my favorite local nature reserves. There are always a lot of groups in this area enjoying picnic tables and pavilion. The picnic area itself is well-kept and welcoming, with plenty of space to relax, enjoy a meal, or simply sit and take in nature. The meadow at the entrance has 2 convenient tables. The pavilion nestled more in the park has many picnic tables, grill, and fire place. It accommodates large parties. I have seen a lot of big groups have different holiday celebrations or just gather on a sunny day. What I enjoy the most is the space between picnic tables and inside the pavilion to offer privacy to various groups and a space to roam. The reservation also has a lot of great trails. They're far enough from the road to offer a serene experience. As I walked along the quiet paths and took in the scenic views around Strawberry Pond, I felt an immediate sense of calm. The sounds of birds calling and leaves rustling in the breeze added to the tranquil atmosphere. The bathrooms are conveniently available at the entrance. They are a little gross but available. The parking lot is pretty spacious. The picnic area is very easy to find, just follow the signage or your GPS. Whether you're walking the nearby trails or just lounging with family or friends, this place feels like a hidden gem. Overall, my time at Strawberry Picnic Area reminded me of the importance of reconnecting with nature and making space for simple, quiet moments. It's a place I'd return to in any season. This is located off Lost Nation Road in Willoughby. A lot of good things to do here. It has some great trails for exercise or sightseeing. The best is the one that goes over the river, where you can get a good view. A popular place is the picnic areas. These are located close to the parking lots so you don't have to go far to haul things. It has a few parking lots but these are small so it these get filled up fast. This is why it's good to bring a bike here. It always is enjoyable in good weather here to walk around. It's mostly a very safe park. The best thing are the views.

I didn't even make it out of the parking lot before I heard/saw someone yelling to stop their dog from approaching me and my dog. It happened again while out on one of the trails. I know officers can't be everywhere but I can't recall the last time I've actually seen one in the parks. Dogs off leash is obviously never enforced because there is no worry from the people that are doing it and it happens at every park I go to.

It was a hot day but the festival was under a pavilion (covering) so we all stayed as cool as possible. This park is lovely especially the sand stature that was there in the summer. I enjoyed walking at the park especially with the lake in the background. I may not be back anything soon because it is a bit far from my apartment.
