Unfortunately, instead of noting my request to prevent auto-renewal, they canceled my membership entirely. When I talked Jonathan (or Yonathan) to the gym, I told them which employee had helped me, but I was informed that he no longer works there. Because there were no notes in the system, they said they couldn't correct the mistake. what disappointed me most wasn't just the error--it was how it was handled. Rather than acknowledging that a staff member made a mistake, he simply repeated that "the system can't undo it" and that there was nothing they could do. There was no apology, no ownership, and no effort to find a reasonable solution. The attitude came across as, "You're out of luck." The frustrating part is that I wasn't trying to get out of paying. I was fully willing to continue paying for the remainder of my one-year membership exactly as I had agreed. I simply wanted the original terms honored. Instead, I was left dealing with the consequences of an employee's mistake, and the gym refused to take responsibility because that employee no longer worked there. What was honestly so strange and surprising was their complete unwillingness to help. In my experience, when a business makes a mistake--especially one as small and fixable as this--they usually try to make it right and keep you as a customer. Instead, I was met with a rigid "rules are rules" response. I asked to speak to a manager but Jonathan stated he was the manager. Mistakes happen, but good or even basic customer service is about how a business responds when they do. Unfortunately, this experience which was easily fixable left me very disappointed. Nice equipment but poor management.

It's a lovely facility that has been kept in tip top shape. They have a variety of classes to sign your kids up for and if you're still standing you can get into a dance class too. They offer you a private trainer to try as a part of your membership. They have a walking track upstairs, there is a nutritionist on the property for consultation, they have classes and I think lunch for the elderly. When my kids were younger I practically lived at the Y because I was there 6 days a week. My kids are adults now and it's nice to be able to go to a class now for me. Membership isn't expensive either. I really am blessed to live within walking distance to my Y and it's a very nice facility.

They offer ready-made meals, every kind of protein drink that you can come up with along with waters a place to sit and rest so you really can't go wrong with this gym. I purchased guest passes so I could bring my son to experience the gym. Instead of being welcoming or professional, the employee openly expressed that he did not like my son and stated that he would refuse to sell me guest passes in the future. I found this behavior completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Guest passes are offered by the gym as a service to members, and personal opinions about a member's family should never influence whether that service is provided. The employee's comments made both my son and me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I expect staff to treat all members and guests with respect, regardless of personal feelings. Management should address this issue and ensure employees maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers.

As a full-time mom and coach, finding time and motivation isn't always easy. I need the accountability of scheduled classes and I love that I can even bring my baby with me. I'm also a little competitive, so I love the supportive community and how everyone encourages each other to be better. Reno, the head coach for the Sweat classes, does an AMAZING job of challenging everyone while making sure our form stays on point. He genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the door, teaches proper technique, and modifies movements when needed. I always leave feeling stronger than when I walked in. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating community, I highly recommend Ikon Strength. I haven't made it to the Olympic weightlifting side yet, but I'm excited to learn from the incredible coaches there too! Paper towel dispensers are always empty, disinfectant bottles are always empty. It's annoying to have to ask staff for supplies to clean equipment... like I don't have anyone's athlete's foot or HPV. The thermostat was at 77° when I was there.... Like whose grandparents house am I in right now??? It's so hot in this gym it's only good if you wanna sweat extra.

Coach Ashley in the morning was fun and led us in a good warmup before proceeding with the WOD which was clearly written on one of the TV monitors. I loved being able to get a good (and challenging) workout and also engaging with a lot of the local athletes. Everyone was welcoming and it was fun to crush a pretty advanced WOD. Although I would argue that the 400m run around the gym is a bit longer than 400, I can't be too upset at working my body up just a bit more. Thanks TTL for the great drop-in experience. I'd say it's mostly young professionals in their 30s and 40s. The Redondo beach location has more of a 20s vibe and their workouts seem more geared toward that age group as well, a little more intense. This location is just right for me. I am a bit too far (25-30 min) to come here often but I do enjoy it when I can make it out. Would love for a location to open closer to North Torrance.
