The Weathervane Cafe is a decent place to grab a quick breakfast and a coffee. They offer up various pastries and two hot breakfast options. A sandwich and a burrito. This most recent visit, my pastor brought our men's trip through here to gather before the new guys started their time here in Colorado. This place was busy! I got a hot coffee and a burrito. Unfortunately, the sandwich was sold out around mid-morning. I'm not sure where they get the burritos, they come pre-packaged and get pressed till hot and crispy. Once my food was up, we all gathered upstairs in an outdoor patio area. The narrow staircase leads you to two small, cozy areas to enjoy your food and beverage. Since we were a bigger group, we took our place outside. The burrito was excellent. Soft eggs, potatoes and cheese. It was filling and hit the spot. Such a cute coffee shop! You feel like you're in a well-curated cabin in the woods with retro yet cute/cozy decor. Speaking of which, the owners do rent out some seriously cute/cozy cabins up in the mountains that my buddy and I stayed at and every little detail was on brand down to the signs about wifi and the stove & fridge. There was easy parking here on a Monday around 9am. It was somewhat busy but not crowded; everyone who needed a table seemed to get one. I got a coffee and a pastry and a oatmeal to go (they put it in a cup and I got hot water at the airport). It was all delicious! They also sell cute gifts/swag. I've had breakfast/lunch here as it's nearby my son's Rocky Mountain Pediatric ENT appointments. Walkable from the hospital but most importantly they have caffeine! You can order online or at the counter. A nice option when a queue builds up inside. Or you're on a time crunch and just want to pick up and go. It is super nice to drink inside. The mugs, silverware, cutlery it's all spot on. Like you're dropping in for coffee or tea with an old family relative. The menu rotates seasonally and they always have something new to catch your eye but the classics are still represented. Lot of alternative milk options. The usual hot or iced. But some very unique flavors and merchandise for purchase. Tarot cards, puzzles, amazing gift cards, bandanas for sale, and books as well. I would definitely sign up for their recurring newsletter. It's one of the few emails that I get regarding local updates that I actually take time to read. Not just new menu items but also local community events affecting the Weathervane and other fellow nearby businesses. A huge bone the Weathervane tossed me was introducing me to Flying Moon Cabins. They are affiliated with the cafe but a rental cabin or property located up in Idaho Springs. I'll save my stay review for that Yelp page but very similar cozy vibes to this cafe. Cute little cafe! Second time here, and I got a breakfast sandwich and a Happy Camper Latte. I really enjoyed the latte and it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. The sandwich was good and the focaccia so crispy! But I should've added some ham or bacon to make it tastier. I love how this place is like a converted house though. Instead of the usual chips, they offer cucumber slices with salt and pepper as a side, which felt fresh and perfect. The iced tea was spot on, too. The interior is delightful and quaint, with sweet little items for sale that make it feel cozy. No WiFi here, which honestly I love--it keeps the vibe relaxed and present. There are two community tables inside (nice and cool) and about seven tables outside, with varying amounts of shade. Weathervane Cafe serves food and drinks made with love! Everything we tried was so good. I got a curry chicken salad sando and an iced pineapple matcha to drink. The sandwich was $11.50 and it was pretty big! My partner and I split it and we were comfortably full. The curry chicken was super flavorful and slightly sweet, very tasty and balanced. Pineapple matcha was really good- semi-sweet and balanced with a cucumber garnish. I really like the interior - cozy cottage core vibes with cute antiques and art. There are a good amount of tables on the outside patio and two floors of seating inside. Lots of cute books to hang and read. Note that they do not have WiFi. Not a good place to work. Very cute spot with small town vibes on 17th street. 17th street is really becoming a crowded spot for great breakfast and Im here for it. With Olive & Finch across the street, and One Fold one block up on 18th, the neighborhood was already doing great. With the addition of a new Hearth coffee shop and a second location for Cafe Miriam its getting crowded. So imagine my surprise to learn about this place that's been around for a while right here in the heart of it all. If you're walking up in the front patio is empty don't let it fool you because there is a lot of seating inside in the main area and upstairs. The location definitely has its own kind of unique personality, little knickknack stands, etc. The folks behind the counter are very friendly. But if that all wasn't enough, the food and pastries were exceptional. We got like an Ube croissant, had some sort of like Ube whipped cream or something inside of it, which was very good. The oatmeal was good, I got myself a breakfast sandwich and I was very impressed. It was my first time going to Weathervane recently and wow, what a vibe! Such a cozy and vintage-ish coffee shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Denver. They have a wide range of breakfast, lunch, and coffee items to choose from, and tons of unique gifts to take a browse at while waiting for your order. I got the breakfast sandwich with smoked ham (they immediately sold me on the fact that it was on focaccia bread) and it was sooooo delicious. They also had a seasonal red velvet latte that I had to order, as I'm a sucker for anything red velvet. Phenomenal coffee and breakfast was had that day. I love all the signage inside and out, staff was very friendly as well. It is quite small and I noticed there was an upstairs with more seating but I didn't go up there as we sat out on the patio. I got a chai latte with almond milk, and I asked for them to do a higher chai:milk ratio to make it spicier- they nailed it! It was so nice and spicy and hot. I've been meaning to stop by The Weathervane. A cute rustic cafe with outdoor seating a decent kitchen menu. We stopped by for a burrito and found street parking right out front. There was also a convenient order-online pickup table, if you happened to order online. Unfortunately the burritos all come with cheese and cannot be requested without as they are premade. That was fine as they had a vegan BLT called the TLTA, which subs the bacon for tempeh and comes with avocado. The wait was a little long, but they were busy so it is understandable. I would expect about a 15 minute wait for their sandwiches. The tempeh was pretty delicious, which in my opinion is not easy to do. The consistency was perfect. It was savory and filling. It may have been on the saltier, but I didn't mind too much. We got a cold brew and an iced chai. The chai was on the spicier side which I really like. All in all, a nice cafe with decently priced food. The drinks were on the higher side, but that is common for coffee shops in the area. Vegan friendly cafe with lots of seating. Their online menu states "no substitutions," but it's unclear if omitting items is a substitution as not all restaurants consider them one and the same. However, when I inquired about omitting the cheese from their breakfast burrito I was informed that they do not make them in-house and therefore cannot take the cheese out. I was really looking forward to trying it, but can't eat cheese. I had their carrot cake oats with oat milk and they were tasty and very filling, but they went very heavy on the raisins. Oh, honey My partner and I (whom have both worked in the industry) really wanted to enjoy this cafe, cozy vibes, and good coffee. But when I came to review it after the fact, I realized all of the reviews on here were true. It's not a good look to be telling your customers (the people who are paying you and your employees bills) to go elsewhere or to a big box coffee store. It takes no effort to be nice and all the effort to responded negatively to reviews. Do better...although the snarky responses from the owners 10+ years ago and now show no growth. read more

The coffee drinks at Weathervane are mostly classics with a couple twists. They have a seasonal drink right now called the Happy Camper that has Smokey maple syrup in it and I definitely recommend. They are always busy when I'm in on weekend mornings but the staff manage to get the drink orders out quite quickly even with the millions of customized milk options they offer - AND they are always so kind! One of the coziest and most homey coffee shops around! The Weathervane Cafe is conveniently located between Uptown and City Park West. I stopped in and ordered a 16 oz Cambric with Earl Grey ($3.65). I was worried it would be too sweet so I asked for only half sweet -- next time I would probably go with no sweet at all -- but it was still yummy! Weathervane has a relatively extensive food menu as well. I placed my order in person, but if you are in a rush, I would recommend placing an order ahead of time online, as I did have a 10-15 minute wait for my drink to be ready.
