I have owned two prior waterbeds, 15 and 28 years, the former leaked all the time and the latter two very minor seam leaks. I searched and found similar but not the same type of multi-chambered waterbeds (8 chambers with foam structured back support). Then Waterbed Doctor was found. Tailored a high end water bed to my requirements, I purchased their top model with vinyl tubes of similar quality to my former long lasting bed with modern upgraded heater, etc. Marty delivered and removed my existing bed (at a cost). Superb transaction and Marty was very nice. He has filling tubes down to a tech expertise. He used his phone timer to set the fill speed based on the typical water pressure flow through his water line. My bed has an option of a separately zippered top for installing latex or foam top or remaining closed for more direct to zippered water tube compartment. This bed should last me decades of great sleep. I am considering replacing a guest conventional coiled spring bed as well. read more

My mattress sprang a leak in the seam and the sales rep, Jerry has assured me that it's still covered by the warranty. However, after several attempts, over the course of two weeks, trying get the issue resolved he apologetically told me he's not getting any response from the company. Last week, he promised he's going to get the direct owner involved. I'm still waiting for resolution. A company in business this long should honor their warranties and not take so long helping the customer get their claims resolved. read more

After my very old waterbed bladder sprung a leak during the pandemic, I drove to this business to get a replacement waterbed liner. It seemed very fly by night and sure enough the new bladder sprung a leak two years later. After speaking with Jerry, I was informed that there was no warranty unless the leak was on a seam and all he could provide was a patch. We have no small children and no pets so I can assume that this is a substandard bladder. I do not recommend this business as now I have lost $400 and a bed. read more

Poor quality thats what you get from The Waterbed Doctor. They say solid wood and old world craftsmanship. They lied the entire thing is plywood. I have had waterbeds my whole life and I have never even seen one that was not solid wood until The Waterbed Doctor. The plywood side board don't even have enough layers in their plywood to equal one of the solid wood sideboards from my old bed. Old World Craftsman use REAL SOLID WOOD NOT PLYWOOD. Great service! I'm in Northern California and needed a new mattress quickly. Mine had sprung a leak (it's 20+ years old). We had company coming and needed all our beds. I ordered the mattress on Thursday. Marty called Monday and they didn't have it in stock. Marty checked all around, found a mattress and had it delivered on Wednesday - six days from order to delivery and it wasn't even in stock. I've slept on a waterbed for close to 40 years. I've had a free flow, baffled, and pretty much no flow. For the past 20+ years I've slept on a waterbed with multiple tubes. I own three of them. About three years ago I bought my second one from the Waterbed Doctor and liked it so much I got another one for the spare room. Let me tell you what I like about tubular waterbeds and Waterbed Doctor. First, if you buy one from the Waterbed Doctor, it looks like a conventional bed. Second, you can adjust the water to how you want it to feel and it is just great for sleeping. Third, they last a looong time. I've had my original one well over twenty years and its going strong. I've never sustained a leak, but if I did I could just repair or replace the tube (queen size comes with about seven tubes). Fourth, I like dealing with the Waterbed Doctor. Last week I ordered my third one from Jerry. Within a week it came in and I called to get some help setting it up. Jerry was on another line, but Marty helped me and the set up went just fine, Thanks Marty!!!! The reason I am writing this review is that I love the tubular waterbed and Waterbed Doctor has been wonderful to deal with. I commend both to you! Last Thursday we noticed that our almost 20 year old waterbed mattress (yes, people do still sleep on waterbeds!) had a leak. Not just a pin hole leak, mind you, but a full blown, 1" long crack! Knowing that this is not something you find on every corner like you could in the 80's & 90's, I did what everybody does now: Google! Lo & behold, the first name that came up was Waterbed Doctor. And they are in Southern California! I find exactly what I'm looking for, but want to check on how long it's going to take to be delivered. I call them Friday morning & naturally the mattress I have picked is not in stock. We purchased our second waveless bed from Marty at the Doctor several years ago. For the first time ever we had a leak due to a flaw in the material in one tube. I called up to order a replacement and Marty answered the call. Even though the manufacturer's warranty was expired he sent us a replacement tube free of charge. I order the Salerno soft sided mattress and very happy. The bed came pack into two boxes, no damaged. I did order the fill kit and have to say that the faucet attachments did not fit my updated faucets. So had to fill from outside faucet. The mattress has a very good quality pad cover that zips closed, with that and my mattress pad cover on top figured that I would not need a water bed heater. It did take about two weeks for the water to warm up where it's comfortable. I can now sleep on my side no more pressure points. I don't get over heated on the bed, tempure ped foam mattress was a no go for me, just captured body heat, ugh. So now I'm back sleeping on a water bed, so happy. read more

I've been sleeping on a free flow mattress for 40 years. I needed to get a wave-less mattress, but I was unsure what they felt like. I did not want to order one online. When my emailed questions went unanswered, I called Waterbed Doctor on the phone. "Jerry" was very disappointing, unable or unwilling to give me advice about mattress firmness and feel, which is the crucial factor for me. While knowledgeable, he kept refusing to help me with softness ratings, telling me the information was "subjective," as if the company was afraid of sued for making telling people the real poop. In detailing "features" like thickness of vinyl or warranties, he seemed only to want to sell a product. Since waterbed mattresses are all sold online today, customers have to get more guidance in picking out the best mattress for what they want and need. I just received the replacement parts for my 40plus year old Somma waterbed. Packages arrived very quickly after placing my order. Mike at the company was very helpful in making sure I ordered the correct parts as things have changed after 40 years. Assembly was very different from the original bed. One call to the company and they helped me decipher what part replaced what part and what went where. Directions were included but they are in black and white and folks, like us, with senior sight issues may need a little help. In the end my new bed is of better quality than my first one. I am more than pleased. I thought I should be lucky just to find any tube waterbed parts in the year 2017 where waterbeds are rare in the Northeast but searching the internet I found the waterbed doctor. Plain box springs and mattresses cost several thousands today and require a leap of faith they are going to work for you in the long run and require replacement every 15 or so years. We knew our Somma fit our needs. No movement transfer from your partner and the ability to customize your side of the mattress..what could be better. This bed will perform the same for the next 40 years and will be inherited. So we were so happy to find the waterbed doctor. Buying anything of such importance and of such size over the internet is scary but if its a waterbed component I can attest it will be just perfect from this company. read more
