Cassandra was very helpful and I was planning to sign up, however, there was a gun magazine set out for visitors when I came in and sat at the visitor area. I might expect a magazine about health, wellness or something to do with bodybuilding or weightlifting or cardio, but not something that is politically charged at this time. It appears your LA fitness has a subscription to this gun sales organization because it was addressed to your LA fitness location. This is bizarre and made me uncomfortable and not the type of vibe I want to be around.

Casually writing a review while I'm on the elliptical here. I would say that the RIT fitness center…read moreis the best gym around Rochester. Yes, I might seem biased since I'm a student here, but I think many outsiders agree too. The fitness center is set up on two floors. The first floor is mainly for lifting. There are plenty of free weights and different machines. The second floor has two levels. The first level of the second floor has an open floor area with mats, different machines, and a jungle gym looking structure with different bars and ropes. The second level of the second floor has a ton of cardio equipment and TVs. Beyond the cardio area is a smaller free weights area and plenty of other machines. This fitness center pretty much has every type of machine you can think of. Besides the gym, there are a ton of courts for all types of sports, tracks, and two different pools. One pool is a large one used for swimming and diving while the other pool is more for recreational use that includes a lazy river and a large capacity hot tub! The fitness center is well kept and usually isn't too crowded, depending on when you go. There's only a few things I dislike about this place. First of all, there is no steam room!!! I absolutely love using a steam room after working out and I am surprised they don't have one here (but they do have a sauna). Sometimes it can be impossible to find a parking space when RIT is hosting sports events for other schools in the field house. Lastly (this is tailored toward all my fellow students that use the gym), that awkward moment when you see your professors naked in the locker room haha!

Most of the best players will be playing here in the higher leagues, and the leagues are always full. The prices are cheaper than other indoor locations around the area that offer the same style of leagues. Other locations will often offer coed leagues, but not men's leagues (TSE only offers boardless men's leagues). There are so many different skill level leagues that anyone can find a place to play where they feel comfortable. The only issue I have ever had has been that the same referees are working there that started working there when it opened. They were incredibly old then, and they are even worse now. Things can get out of hand quickly with some of these guys, especially in the faster paced higher level leagues. The staff is great, very helpful, and also very reasonable. They get to know you if you are there a lot and always say hi to me when they see me (I have played thousands of games there).

It's a circuit training/HIIT style workout, where you roll around the studio and run through a series of different exercises designed to get your whole body moving and sweating and just in better overall shape. There's some work on machines (ski, treadmill, bike, etc.), weights, bodyweight exercises, and more. If you've ever done F45 or something similar, it's not far off, but it's a cool local shop with personable coaches in a clean environment with surprisingly nice facilities and even products in the bathroom for when you're through. Everyone we spoke with from the front desk to the trainers leading the session to the other folks working out seemed cool, and we'll definitely be back when we're in town.
