Our 16 year old got her nose pierced for her birthday. Everyone was friendly and she had a great experience.

I got my Tragus pierced a few weeks ago at The Void, in Brattleboro, VT. All the staff there are extremely friendly, welcoming, and very welcoming. Ali was the woman who pierced my Tragus, and she was amazing. Ali made me feel as well as made sure I was comfortable. She was easy going, fun to talk to, kind, and extremely thorough explaining the process. Ali answered any questions I had, and her percision and skills shined through in her work. I LOVE my piercing! The actual piercing process happened so quick, that I barely felt it. I originally started with a larger stone stud, however, it did not take long to realize I made a mistake as I kept accidently bumping it, and it got snagged on my clothing and pillowcase. (I originally wanted a tiny stud, and I should have listened to my gut instinct.) I recommend getting a small stud for your first earring when piercing your Tragus or cartilidge as you can barely feel it while it is healing and if you accidently bump it or you lay on it, it is a much more bearable pain/discomfort than if you have a larger stud. I went back in the next day, and spoke with Ali about my concerns with my larger stud, and she happily changed it out for me. You can tell Alli is very passionate about what she does, and I HIGHLY recommend her. Thank you, to all the staff who greeted me, and were friendly and helped me accomplish something I had wanted for awhile now. Very happy with the outcome. Stopped into this little store while on vacation in VT. They specialize in tattoos, piercings, smoking equipment, and clothing/shoes/hype products. They had amazing prices on brand name items. I bought a olive "Dickies" work jacket for $150 + tax. My boyfriend has a size 13/14 shoe and XL in T-Shirts. We always stop into speciality stores like this to see if they have his size on specialty items. We talked to the owner/manager (?) and he told us that he would keep an eye out for whatever we were looking for. He also had a ton of 13/14 sides IN STORE! This is unheard of. Update! Now I *can* say I got pierced here! I got flat and helix (cartilage) piercings. Alli was my piercer. She is very thorough, patient, and fun to talk to! You can tell when someone loves what they do and she definitely does. I'll gladly drive the 3.5 hours to get pierced here again. They don't try to over-sell you on anything either, including cleaning/disinfecting products. They book appointments with enough time so that you can take your time picking out your jewelry. I got my piercing a month ago and the healing process has been the best ever, using their "just leave it alone" approach. Such a game changer! I'll be back soon, I'm sure. read more

I really don't want to speak badly of the Void because I've heard of good experiences and that the folks there are good folks! (Totally unrelated to my visit: I'd honestly trust Zach with my life). My main problem was that the pricing on the website was completely inaccurate to the actual cost of a set of earlobe piercings (what I was trying to get). In the end I felt like I was tricked into spending WAY more than I'd expected and ended up canceling my appointment, but was still charged $15, and I left feeling frustrated and sad. As a student who lives independently and only works part-time, it already felt like a stretch to spend $30 on myself for fun when I could have a friend pierce my ears for free, but I wanted to support a local business, really wanted my ears bedazzled, and I knew it would be the safest piercing could get. First, I'd heard I might need to buy earrings in addition to the cost of the actual piercing, so I brought my own studs to avoid that, but learned during my appointment I could only used the Void's jewelry to ensure safety (which is confusing because I thought I'd just signed a form saying the Void wasn't liable for any infections?). That was a bummer, especially because it meant another $36 (or so I thought...). I went for it anyway because I'd been looking forward to my piercing for a while and the studs were pretty. Then when I was rung up it turned out the earrings were $36 EACH. If the person I'd been speaking to had mentioned that, then it's my bad, and I was indeed assuming they meant $36 per pair. But $72 earrings are extremely expensive for me and it was very unclear to me that I was choosing earrings that cost twice as much as the price I was told. The last thing that put a real damper on my day was that before deciding I truly didn't want to be spending over $100 on a set of pierced ears, I went through with the transaction on my card -- another fault of mine. Even though my cancelling refunded most of what I'd paid, they kept $15. At that point I was a little overwhelmed and didn't really understand the reasoning behind the $15 charge. My best guess would be, the great trouble of taking up 20 minutes of someone's time and filling out some paperwork? (The day before, I'd had to cancel & reschedule my appointment last minute, and they didn't charge anything. So I'm not sure what was different here.) Anyway as much as I wanted to go through with this potentially good experience, ultimately I felt swindled. I made some mistakes by not clarifying communication about cost or giving it a good thought before deciding to pay anything, but the cost for a service should be much more transparent and clarified already. I do appreciate that no one literally pressured me to do anything. The person I spoke with was super kind. If you're concerned about saving money, I'd recommend that you call and ask for a breakdown of ALL costs before booking with the Void. read more

Got my Medusa pierced. Piercing room was clean and included an autoclave. Alli was awesome! Piercing time was quick and aftercare was explained in detail. I was told to contact her with any questions and to stop in once healed to take a photo for her portfolio. Overall, 11/10. read more

Had an amazing experience at The Void! Very courteous, kind and professional. I've had a few piercings done around the area and this was honestly the best one. Scheduled the appointment same day and was able to get in, in a reasonable amount of time. The shop area is super cool too, lots to look at.
