I have a disability that affects how my muscles move. Icy's knowledge of how to breathe, create an open sound, and sing with breath support is masterful. she knows in detail about the parts of the body that allow for the formation sound and is organized in how she presents this information to her students. I took speech lessons as a child and in one lesson (my third lesson overall) I just sat with her face to face. I watched how she moved her tongue to form vowels over n over. she was understanding encouraging me that I was already making the sound, she kept us moving forward so I got less stuck trying to achieve perfection.
