I took a celebratory selfie in front of the Voice Actor's Studio sign after concluding my first beginner's class.
    Warren S.

I had been dancing around the idea of trying voice acting for almost two years, mainly because I have a chronic lack of faith in my own talent. When I finally signed up for The Voice Actor's Studio's four week beginner's course, which ran every Tuesday night from 6:30p to 9:30p, it was more because I knew my work schedule would soon not allow that exploration. I didn't really know what to expect when I started my adventure into voice acting; I just wanted to see if I might have a knack for it. I knew I wanted to find some sort of "fruit" from this adventure. Very immediately upon entering this minuscule bastion for talent, I knew I was being welcomed into a special place. Cold and hot beverages sit waiting just inside the front door for the patrons and friends of the studio, ensuring that no matter what kind of weather you were coming out of, you'd have the right drink to welcome you and prepare your voice for the work ahead. Such provisions summarize the amazing hospitality and humanity represented throughout my Voice Actor's Studio Experience. The space then gives way to a decently sized classroom environment set before a pair of state-of-the-art computer consoles that would be used to record, clean up, and distribute our attempts at mic time to the classes' participants after each round of practice. Then there's the studio itself, a four foot by seven foot space in the back of the classroom adorned with acoustic panels and sealed off by a glass window and a metal door; for the ULTIMATE voice acting environment. Rigged within that environment is some of the most trusted voice acting equipment one could ask to work with - complete with microphone, pop guard, interface, and headphones (I would learn in greater depth about the equipment itself in week 2). Stepping into this space always made my heart flutter; kind of like that feeling I would get before going on stage. However, the spotlight offered while working with the Voice Actor's Studio family would feel far warmer than any other I had enjoyed previously. The four week course allowed plenty of opportunity to meet several amazing performers who had come to find their happy place within the Voice Actor's Studio community. Brent Mukai, a burgeoning voice actor who I had known in the Las Vegas Improv scene for about a decade, assisted with recording in our third class and teaching during our final class. Casey Eade, an amazing pixie of a personality, encouraged us all to feel safe from judgment and valued for our talent as she recorded our work during the first two weeks of the course. The real star, however, is the studio's founder - Mrs. Melissa Moats, who served as our teacher the first three weeks of the course before falling ill and missing our final class at the eleventh hour. Melissa is a brilliant, unselfish, and friendly mentor. She is knowledgeable, generous with her energy, behaves as if she is genuinely fascinated by each class member's potential, and she possesses the directing skills to help find the sound she's looking for in us. Her warm energy easily spread throughout the room, and one gets the sense while working with her that they should be grateful for the opportunity to be guided by one so knowledgeable. The course itself is not entirely strenuous. Note taking is light, and much of each class is spent listening to each of the students step into the booth, try their chops out, receive feedback, and then try again. Everyone in our 14-15 person class got a chance for booth time each week, with AMPLE opportunity coming during the final week. I am obviously gushing about finding the Voice Actors Studio, which has proven itself to be a rare oasis of positivity for creative minds. Melissa Moats, Casey Eade, and Brent Mukai all took such care throughout their interactions with us to make sure our experience was... well, "fruitful"...and I feel like I got precisely what I wanted from the beginners course. However... now that I've had my first course at The Voice Actor's Studio, I know I'm going to grow more hungry for the rest of the meal. I hope I find my way back sooner rather than later. Thank you thank you thank you TVAS! I pray I find a way to make this exhilarating art form more my bread and butter.

I studied voice over in LA, many years ago, but dong this class at TVAS was a great learning experience, it was also a lot of fun. Our group of 15 students were all very talented and Melissa brought out the best in all of us, we supported each other and that was most important. I highly recommend this if you are interested in voice over or looking for something new. From the moment you walk in to when you leave class it is a fun learning place and fill with warmth from the staff which radiates into the students. Great Fun...Great Learning..I am continuing with more classes as I think my class members are going to. Bob Sattler

I just completed the 4 week beginner's course at The Voice Actors Studio in Las Vegas! This has been an incredible experience. I learned so much about how to break into this business. The class was taught by the very capable and amazingly talented Melissa Moats, who is also the founder and owner. Melissa in her own right has had a successful career in Voice acting for over 20 years. So, she knows what she is talking about. She teaches with such passion and compassion. And she's a lot of fun too! I wholeheartedly recommend this class to anyone who is interested in starting a career in voice acting or even just for fun as a hobby. Melissa and her entire team are absolutely amazing!!!!! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!!

From the second it starts, it feels like organized chaos in the best possible way. The crowd work is absolutely ruthless but also hilarious. You spend half the time laughing and the other half quietly hoping you do not make eye contact. Somehow, they walk that perfect line where it is edgy without being awkward. The side acts are insane. Like, how is this even physically possible level talent. Every time you think it cannot get crazier, it does. It is part circus, part comedy show, part did I just witness that moment. And the Gazillionaire is the perfect ringmaster for it all, completely unhinged in the most controlled way possible. He keeps everything moving, keeps the crowd on edge, and somehow makes chaos feel like it is exactly on schedule. Going with a close friend made it even better. There is something about sharing those did that really just happen looks the whole night that makes it stick. If you are in Vegas and want something that is actually memorable and not just expensive for no reason, this is it. Easily one of the best shows on the Strip.

There's amazing acrobatic performances and the hour and a half flew by fast. I loved the intimate tent setting and no seat is a bad seat. The chairs are, however, uncomfortable and seated very closely together. There are bar waitresses who walk around and can also take your drink order, but we had already bought drinks from the outside bar to bring inside. The tent is located by Hell's Kitchen and Caesar's Palace Valet.

Oh for sure It's like comparing apple and oranges but the orange is a little dry (Awakening) - good but not as good as the apple. Now here's why O pissed me off. I did my due diligence and researched whether or not photography was ok. https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/usa/las-vegas/o/buy-tickets The website stated that pocket sized cameras and cellphones were ok. Upon arrival, I double checked with the staff, "IS CELLPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY DURING THE SHOW OK?" Both staff said "Yes, just no video and no flash." Tell me why both of these staffs were the ones going around telling people to put their devices away during the show even though many people were only taking pictures? :| (I will say, once I saw they started picking on people about photography at the very beginning, I didn't bother trying to take pics myself - so yay didn't get publicly shamed LMAO) The show itself was incredible but the staff and their terrible communication and then shining their lights and calling out guests for taking photos was most definitely not nice in any way. I think it's ridiculous to say "We encourage photos" on the website and then have their staff go and pick on rule following show attendees. Organizers need to make up their minds on the photo policy and train their staff accordingly.

I've seen this show twice, once opening night and then again in October 2023. I was in the first row stage left the first time, and the second row dead center the second time. The first time my view was blocked by a woman with very curly, poofy hair. The second time my view was blocked by everyone seated at the cocktail tables. The Duomo is a horrible venue because the seats are neither staggered nor graduated like stadium seating. The stage isn't high enough above the seating to give everyone a good view. I've seen X Country at Harrah's, Fantasy at Luxor, and Red Velvet Burlesque at Notoriety downtown - all of them have different seating and stage configurations for this sort of show, but you can actually see the performers. This show needs a different venue. They have Julia Flypole doing arial hoop work but it's like a 7 or 8 foot ceiling from the stage to the top. She also performs in Red Velvet Burlesque and her routine is from a silk that is easily two stories long. It's just not the same effect doing acrobatics and arial pole in such a short room. The show is a mix of singing and burlesque dancing set to rock-esque type music. There is no nudity in this show. Everyone has pasties on in addition to bra tops, unlike other showgirl burlesque shows. While it's obviously 18+ because it's burlesque, nothing is too risque, except the bathtub dance is a bit over the top raunchy for my taste. The dancing is good. The costuming is good. The singer actually has a good voice. The only problem is the venue is garbage and not a good fit for this show. There is limited audience participation in this show.
