After signing up as a Satellite Swimmer, I had to chase down the promised monthly workout files every single month. I got the workouts for September IN JANUARY after multiple e-mails to Coach Mike and anyone else I could contact. I mean, if you can't get the workouts to me, I guess that's fine, but after experiencing the total failure that is the Satellite Swimmer program, I requested to be removed from the team in January 2018, April 4th and again on April 26th. I was charged AGAIN, and they are now saying that they don't "issue refunds". Here we are almost in May and I'm still waiting for the workouts from February, March and April. I don't think it's considered a "refund"when I never got what I paid for in the first place. I am really understanding when people make mistakes, and my multiple e-mails over the last few months requesting workouts over and over again, show that I have a pretty long fuse. But when a group makes MULTIPLE mistakes without any remorse and then tries to scam me out of money and tells me they won't do anything to fix their errors, well I'm just not OK with that at all. There are so many amazing Masters Teams out there, I really recommend steering clear of a group like this.

Attending Wyse Basketball clinic for the first time impressed us so much that my son immediately loved their program. It was the perfect time that my son and Coach West met and worked together for a year because my son had the goal of playing for high school basketball. My son kept improving and he was always excited to learn everything Coach West had to teach him. It was another level of play for my son. He became more and more confident as his knowledge was increasing, that after a year of being in the academy, he went for the high school try-out and got accepted. Coach West helped him reach his goal. Coach West is very good in communicating with kids. He talks to them in a mild manner that makes the players feel respected. He taught not only basketball skills like defense and offense, but also respect and being humble in and out of the court. He encourages kids to prioritize academics and become responsible athletes.

We decided to try out NJB (Huntington Beach chapter) based on some recommendations from friends…read more Note: most of them tried it summer/winter season when I guess there's more participants and more volunteer help. However, the spring season for the Rookie division (K-1, 5-7 year olds) was super disorganized from the start and it hasn't gotten better after numerous parents bringing up concerns throughout the season with Coach Dennis who happens to be the founder of NJB too. This has been the worst sports league we have ever joined! 1) They shouldn't have 5-7 year olds play together and if they do, they should divide the teams equally by skill level but that wasn't the case. One team had much taller, more experienced players that would often dominate during scrimmages. Some of the younger ones would get upset, feeling discouraged which isn't a good start when introducing a sport. 2) The league should provide more coaching for basics and fundamentals as it was the first time for some of the kids playing. That being said, all practices are run by parents who volunteer to coach including some who reluctantly did so. Sadly, they are not given any instruction on drills so it's up to them how they want to structure practices. This happened the first time where the paid coaches just watched the volunteer coaches figure out how to coach the kids without giving them any guidance. After complaints, Dennis told us from week 2 week, we would have someone professionally give our kids instruction the first 30 minutes, then scrimmage the last 30 minutes but sadly that only seemed to happen 3x. The paid referees were supposed to come for all the scrimmages/games, but didn't. We had parent volunteers step in with some of the weekend scrimmages/games and referee too when no professional from the league showed up. This was so unprofessional. 3) Game times were sometimes changed 1-3 days prior to the actual game or from a Sunday to Saturday. One weekend we weren't suppose to have a game, then we were emailed that same week that we would have one. 4) Not all updated games have been emailed out. So some parents downloaded the NJB app (which only some knew about) and said that was more updated on there, but that still didnt show all the upcoming games. 5) Rookie division plays with 8 feet (vs 10 feet hoop). We found out in order to have practice with 8 feet hoops, we have to pay additional rental fees to practice at local schools that have them. When asked if we get a partial/refund, Dennis flat out said "no" because everything was done as promised, which wasn't. I'll be sharing my experience with other families and mom groups that I'm a part of.

I purchased classes in March for July…read more I requested to cancel and they have not yet given me a refund. Per their contract, I requested the cancellation in time and am willing to pay their outrageous cancellation fees that amount to over $45 per class. Leaving me with a total of $200 worth of cancellation fees for a handful of classes. Please see email on how the owner messaged me that she will not give me a refund because I was able to win a small amount of money back through a dispute ($255) from my credit card company for a package of classes that amounted in $45 worth of cancellation fees. BECAUSE OF THIS...($45 cancellation fees) They are REFUSING to refund me close $400 of money that is RIGHTFULLY mine . The credit card company won $255 for me from my original $855 clinic purchases. This leaves $400 owed to me. $855 original purchases -$255 (won by credit card dispute) -------------- $600 of my money held by this company -$200 (bogus cancellation fees) ---------------- $400 in refund (minus credits and cancellation fees) This volleyball company has stolen close to $200 ( from cancellation fees) from me and now that want to steal my refund!!!! So shady. After they stated they would either give me credit at their volleyball club (full amount no cancellation fees) or take $200 from my $600 refund for their outrageous fees. I HAVE AGREED TO PAY YOUR CANCELLATION FEES NOW GIVE ME MY REFUND...this is outrageous

We are incredibly pleased with their training so that when we play in the seasonal leagues the kids will have a better handle on the ball and understanding of the game. The basketball games that they play at UYP seems more focused on evaluating players for growth rather than chasing trophies since there are no tangible rewards for winning. It was a change of mindset we had to undergo as we continued on. Though I'm rating this at 5 stars for their academy, there are other issues present - including communication. The experience for parents isn't as streamlined since the space is rented from Momentous and I had to proactively reach out to be included in Telegram chats (the chat app of choice here). Since most sports leagues use sportsengine for sign ups, I was hoping this academy would make use of that app since the sign ups utilizes it anyway. Weekend basketball games for the club membership are about 20-30 minutes away from the gym they practice at and requires a hefty fee to watch.
