I've been to this location a couple of times, including today. I can't speak to its heyday, but for what it is right now, it's totally fine. It's a very practical neighborhood shopping center -- a convenient one-stop spot with everyday essentials, restaurants, and new stores currently under construction. I'd encourage people to continue supporting it. Not every shopping center needs to be a major destination like the Irvine Spectrum. There's value in having diversity in shopping options and experiences, especially places that simply serve the daily needs of the surrounding community. The Village is turning into restaurant row, with 4 new restaurants already open this year and a fifth one, a Korean BBQ, opening in the old Red Robin. Then you have the expanded Trader Joe's and a Sprouts sharing a common parking lot, so all your food needs are met. Ulta has returned, but to the same place Party City was. Overall, the mall is coming back to life, even though the indoor mall is gone. A couple of things to know. You can't drive the length of the place in the back anymore, as the property, once owned by JCPenney, is completely fenced in, blocking your path and at least the old entrance to the back parking lot. The other is that even though there's a sign that says "Panda Mart", there is zero activity when you look inside the store. Sears still owns that property and building, so that's on them. In fact, if you walk down the path between Home Goods and 24 Hour Fitness, you'll see all that is left of the old mall. That's because Sears owns that section and didn't opt to tear it down. Between Home Goods, Walmart, and some food eateries, I find myself coming here more often than I realized. Maybe not as much when there was a full indoor mall, but not by much. BTW: If you go to their website (as of this review), it looks like they didn't renew their hosting agreement, so it's gone. Half of the retail stores on the west side of the center have been demolished. It's a weird look for those of us who have been coming to this center for a while. Widely recognized stores that remain include PetsMart, Walmart, Sprouts, Home Goods, and Trader Joe's. Remaining eateries include the Habit, Olive Garden, Yogurtland, Panda Express, Chipotle, Panera, Buffalo Wild Wings, and RedRobin. A new Ulta location is currently being built out. read more

I stopped in here just to walk around and see what was up. It was mostly a bunch of teenagers roaming around and goofing off inside. There weren't any stores I wanted to shop. This mall was dimly-lit and gloomy. I felt like I was inside a haunted house. Be careful at this mall. Homeless people were begging for money at the entrance. The men's restroom was fine. read more

This is s very tiny tiny mall. I wouldnt even call it a mall. In less than 10 minutes you can walk the entire mall and see it all. In fact there is nothing you can miss even if you blink your eyes. There are not a ton of options here or gift ideas but you can definitely find something and advoid the crowds. The best things here are Sears, JC Pennys, Sees Candies, Mrs Fields cookies, Bath and Body works, the watch guy, the Japan shop, Cost Plus and the Pet Store. There are a few outside resturants like Red Robin, Todai, Chipotle, Coffee Bean and Oggis pizza that are pretty decent. The bathroom here is super cool and they have a pretty neat little bathroom next to the Pretzel place. But, the hallway to get there is a mile long, dont walk it alone. Parking here sucks. I always park behind the mall and enter through the corner entrance near JC Pennys. I used to take my stepdaughter here when she was a toddler, so this mall has huge sentimental appeal for me. I hadn't been here since then, and was a bit surprised (both good and bad) by how the mall has changed. My stepdaughter used to love the train, and it's still here! Yay! They have also remodeled the mall inside, so the interior looks nice and clean. With all the nice changes, this little mall still has quite a few empty store fronts and appears a bit dark inside. My mom has also mentioned (when we were here a couple weeks back) that the Sears and JCPenny's are smaller stores and could use a bit of updating themselves. I really like the See's Candies here, and the kids' love the Old Navy. Also, the Red Robin is still here and has their great onion rings and the Hickory Chicken Burger, my favorite! The parking is (and has always been) a nightmare. With the Walmart at one end of the parking lot, weekdays and weekends can be a bit of a headache, and I will try avoid these peak hours at all costs when I decide to shop here. The Village of Orange could use a small facelift. The fountain in the front didn't appear to be working, and the exterior of the anchor stores definitely look a bit outdated. I would love to see the fountain clean and working and some minor changes done to the outside of this mall. With a few small changes, I think this mall could be really nice once again! Calling this a mall is a far, far stretch. I've gone several times to solely the Noodles and Company, which isn't connected to this mall, but I finally went inside the actual Village for the very first time today. I knew it was small, which is why I never rushed to come here. I didn't know it was quite that small. Almost half of the retail spaces were vacant. For a Saturday, there were about two handfuls of people. It seems to be on its last leg unless some major renovation and additions are done. I would probably only come to the big anchor stores if I lived in the area, but other than that, I couldn't do any kind of good shopping there. The only store I was a tad excited about was Ulta, but I have many other Ulta locations a lot closer to me. I didn't see the World Market until I noticed it on the map on the website when I got back home, so I would have wanted to browse in there since I like World Market. Oh well. The only restroom was a maze to finally get into since you have to make about 4 or 5 turns down some halls to finally access it. There's no food court. Just 3 unappealing eateries and 2 other snack shops in the middle of the mall. It looks pretty nice from the outside and appeared cleanly kept up inside and out, but I don't see myself ever coming back here again. This won't satisfy you whatsoever if you're used to the South Coast Plaza, the Westfield Century City Mall, the Del Amo Mall, Westfield San Francisco Centre, the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, Fashion Valley, Westfield UTC, Fashion Island, the Irvine Spectrum, The Westfield Santa Anita, Westfield Culver City, the Brea Mall, or even the Montclair Mall, Ontario Mills or the Outlets at Orange. I feel that if this little mall was updated, they would get a lot more business. First off, many of the spaces are empty and not that many well known shops. The only stores worth going to are Ulta, Ross, HomeGoods, and Bath and Body Works. There are other favorites around the mall but not directly inside. I would have given the full 5 stars but not much to see. One major plus is that the mall is always clean and there's always security patrolling which is great. There is a very small food court with an amazing Filipino restaurant which is great. Sad to say, they closed down Mrs. Fields. Bring more well known stores and I am certain you will reach success. The mall is in a convenient location where lots of traffic goes by so it would be ideal for commuters. read more

The Village. What can I say? When I first walked in years ago, this place made me completely depressed. The stores, the employees, the food options- horrible. I stopped going unless I really had to. The only stores I would go to were Ross, Old Navy, and Bath and Body Works. Every time I would go, at least one store would be shut down. Old Navy shut down, all the food places shut down, the wedding store shut down, Wet Seal shut down, etc. I recently went back after hearing about the renovations (the reason I gave them 3 stars or else it should have been a ONE!) Although there are most stores that shut down (no surprise there) there are new ones after remodeling. Some stores they have now : *ULTA (excited) *BUFFALO WILD WINGS * HomeGoods *New fast food joints *New clothing stores I recently noticed that JCPenney will shut down and I was told the last day would be sometime in July 2017. Everything in the store is 40% off currently so head on out! I would personally wait till July to get everything 70% off haha!! Overall, The Village is still renovating and has more potential now than ever before. I really gave up on this place, but I guess someone heard our cries and changed it up! read more

The Villiage at Orange was just recently renovated a couple years ago. It is much nicer now than it was before. But it still lacking a lot of high end stores. The only reason I go to the village at Orange is for lunch or dinner at red robbin. Other than that, there really isn't much to do there. This mall is definitely below average. When I was little, I used to love it 1. Because I didn't know any better and 2. Because they have this boutique store that's really cute. But now I can't stand it! This mall doesn't have any popping stores, the stores and mall itself is a mess and can find it dirty at times, there is a Walmart - enough said right?! It is extremely small you can probably walk the whole mall in less than 5 minutes. I come here very rarely now because nothing at this mall is unique and screams to me "COME BACK!" They have a proactive machine that's very convenient so I would come about once a month to buy products, but I don't use proactive anymore soooo good riddance! There are some restaurants outside of the mall but the food court inside the mall is very small and lame. Parking is fairly easy but I think that's because no one likes this mall. The mall looks nice and big from the outside, but that's all. There is nothing inside. 2/3 of the stores are closed. They only have small flea market lookalike tables in the middle of the mall. I'm not so sure whether some of the stores is in the middle of renovation or just closing down for good. The signboards don't make any sense, especially the one for Cost Plus World Market. They put a signboard that shows the entrance of Cost Plus World market is on the end of the mall. A lot of people were trapped like us. When you walk to the end of the mall, you can only window shop the CPWM. The signboards look like they have a second floor and a basement, but they only have one level. This place needs another year to fix their problem, until then...No Thanks! read more

They have a good selection of typical stores that you'd find at a regular mall and a few boutiques. Several different restaurants surrounding it like Buffalo Wild Wings and Red Robin. You can hardly call this a mall. It's small but it has a few anchor stores like Sears and JC Penney. You can walk the whole thing in 20 minutes. It's adjacent to the 24 Hour Fitness and the Wal-Mart and oh yeah, the Cost Plus World Market. The Target is across the street so you kinda have everything in one place. It has a smallish food court, nothing too special or great. I skipped the food choices that were offered. No, thanks. For a small mall, it features some pretty cool stores like Ross, Payless Shoe Source (there's one across the street too but whatever), Bath and Body Works, Famous Footwear, and some other small independent stores. Not too shabby. Oh, there's an Old Navy too. I've been twice already. What I like is that it's clean and not crowded. Not even on the weekends. I hate crowds. I can shop with ease. Cell reception really sucks tho. Just really sucks. Try to leech off of Old Navy free wifi as long as you can but it ends near the food court and then you're just sort of left struggling. read more

Ghetto beyond belief, but still close to my heart. I like this mall because they have a humongous Old Navy in the front, plus a Red Robin. In other words, I can buy cute clothes for less and indulge in endless steak fries with bomb ranch all day long. Now that's my idea of a freaking awesome day! Besides that, I don't really shop at any of the other stores in this plaza because I'm not big on Payless or Ross - the stores are pretty outdated, but they're cheap if you're into that kind of thing. Is it just me or is this place just depressing to go to now? It used to be alright; a few good stores here and there, but now, nearly everything is shut down. Most of the good stores are gone. Not too many people come here. It's still a good place to walk around and get some exercise, but in terms of actual shopping, you can't really do that here. I wish they would revitalize this place by adding new shops. The potential is definitely there. Tons of space and lots of parking. It can be a really popular spot if they add more things. They should try to model it after the Outlets of Orange. I hope they don't shut this place down without trying to do a major renovation. read more

This mall lacks some of the finer amenities that other malls have. No Macy's, No Nordstorm. Rather, you will find retailers like Payless Shoes and PacSun here, as well as many smaller retailers. Several units here are unoccupied. On one-side, there is a Wal-Mart and a Sprouts, which were added on several years ago during the mall renovations. Parking can be difficult during the weekends. However, there always happens to be parking by the Sears. There's no parking structure, what you see is what you get. Overall, not an overly exciting mall with minimal high-end stores. read more

This mall is super underwhelming. It is in the shape of a cross and you can literally walk the entire thing in like 10 minutes. There are not that many stores, and the stores that are there go out of business fairly quickly. I always see a new store every time I go. There are starting to be new stores/restaurants that are staples in other shopping outlets (Ulta and BWW are great additions!) so I do have hope that this place will continue to improve. I only really come here if I need to go to Ross or Walmart. If your goal is to go clothes shopping, I would recommend you go to Brea Mall or Main Place Mall in Santa Ana. read more

The main reason why the bf and I ever come over to the Village of Orange is to go to Knife Gallery. Otherwise, the parking isn't the best, and at it's best, it's idiotic. There also really isn't that many stores to actually go to. And, Walmart is next door, so you get to meet lots of "creative" people. When driving to Village Idiot, I believe there are only three main entrances. Unfortunately, those entrances are also the main exits, so if you somehow park at one of the corner regions of the parking lot, you're going to have to circle back to the original entrance you came in to get out. It's seriously like a mouse maze... There really isn't too many good stores here. The only ones that pop out to me the most is Oggi's, Yogurtland, Knife Gallery, World Market. The Village has been disappointing for a long time, because of the area I guess people may go in expecting something a little better. For years and years I've visited this place out of pure convenience, back when there was sears/JC penny, and a bunch of random shops. Seems like it has always been disorganized and not very stimulating. If you're looking for high end shopping this is definitely not your go to, however for some quick things this might be a reasonable stop. I was recently in the area and decided to go in for a stroll after so many years. They have done a lot of renovations! So many of the stores that once were are now out of business and long gone which isn't much of a surprise. Even with the renovations this place still needs a lot of work!! I give it two stars for effort and also because a few popular restaurants are starting to open up nearby so I still have hope in their future upgrades. The Village, I'm rooting for your comeback. Went to this "mall" last week and it's kind of hard to even call it a mall when so many stores are closed or out of business! I walked through it and it was a little creepy! More than 1/2 the stores were dark & of those most didn't even have a sign up, there was just no store there! If it wasn't for the Walmart, Sprouts & Home Goods this place would be a ghost town! The Ross was pathetic & hardly had anything in it, looked like it may be going out of business. The store seemed dirty and unkept. I only walked through this place because I hadn't in probably over a year and I wanted to see what stores were in it. I realize some stores may have been closed due to the Corona Virus but too many spaces were just dark, no signs up or anything. This mall is sad and I doubt I'll return to it anytime soon. Oh & the Sears that is still there is even more gross that Ross, super old and outdated. I can't believe it's even still in business. Unless you're going here for the Walmart, the Sprouts or the HomeGoods, don't waste your time. Yuck! read more

I gave this an extra star strictly out of childhood memories... I first started going to this mall in the 80s as a kid.. Fond memories of the arcade that was in the Sears basement. It's where I honed my Rampage & Paperboy skills to a fine edge. It was a bustling mall with a theatre out back in the parking lot (now gone). JC Pennys is now gone. This place is absolutely dead. Over 50% of the store fronts are closed. Probably less than 50 people in the entire mall when I was there. There has been some extensive renovation, but I doubt it will attract stores again. Even Walmart traffic doesn't get folks in the mall. Food court is sparse. Maybe 3-4 places still remain. Like most malls they got rid of ample seating and replaced them (also empty) with kiosks. I really can't give any reasons why you should go here. read more

I think the consensus is spot on -- this shopping center is A-OK. It's not as great as some of the other malls in Orange County, but it definitely has shops that keep me coming back to what is known as the Village at Orange. Sprouts and Cost Plus are my faves in the center and the real reasons for multiple return visits and I love that there is even a Trader Joe's and BevMo in the outskirts. Party City is a must for all event stuff and they even have a Tuesday Morning if you want to get your discount shopping on. I haven't been to the wine store they have there - but someone said I need to check it out. As for in the mall itself, the only stores I actually frequent are GameStop and Ross. I try not to set foot into Walmart unless I absolutely have to, especially since there is a Target across the street... yeah, I'm one of those people. I tried to go to that 24 Hour Fitness, but sadly, my super upgraded membership wasn't upgraded enough as this is one of the few that aren't included in my package. The one time that I did end up going there, it was nice though! The food court is pretty dismal with about 5-6 different choices. Not one better than the other and pretty mediocre in taste and quality. If you're coming to this mall to eat, I'd go with Oggi's, Red Robin or some of the spots in the parking lot like Chipotle, Rubio's, Olive Garden, Panera, Coffee Bean or Jamba Juice, at least you know what kind of quality you're getting and it's better than the mall fare. Parking can be crazy during the weekends and holidays - mostly because of Walmart. I do love that they have 30-minute spots up front. Just be warned, they are timed and they will ticket you if you're there longer than you're supposed to be. My oldest daughter had been begging me to get her ears pierced for a while so I finally took her to do it. Of course her little sister wanted what her big sister was going to have, but I didn't think she would do it. But she did it! With the patience and encouragement of the staff, all was good in their little worlds. I'm definitely an advocate against ear piercing babies and children who cannot make the decision for themselves. Bottom line, it hurts! I fondly remember getting my ears pierced at 12 years old and it was a big deal. I wanted the experience to be the same for my girls when they made the choice to do it. So when the day came when they made the decision to get their ears pierced, we chose Claire's. Like my first time, I wanted it to be a memory they would reflect on and appreciate. I went to the mall today to beat the heat. On one end of the mall is Sears and on the other is a courtyard with a Cost Plus World Market, a Max Juice, a hair salon, and Wal-Mart. The one thing I remembered about this mall from the last time I shopped here is they have a knife store with a ton of fantasy figurines in it and it still exists. They also have a women's shoe store that is selling everything today for $10 a pair. One thing I wasn't expecting to see is a large vending machine selling Proactiv acne solution. The Carl's Jr. looks closed. They have a weird named frozen yogurt place - soul-something. And they have an Annie's Pretzels. Pretzel love! Small one story mall makes it easy to get in out although the parking lot can get crowded at times. I usually come here to visit the usual suspects: Walmart, World's Market, Ross... they also have JC Penney, Sears, See's Candies, Todai, Red Robin, etc It definitely doesn't feel as new or "clean" as other malls but it's a good option in Orange to run some errands. I love having this little mall close to home. It's not big and doesn't have many options as bigger malls but has just enough in my opinion. If you don't want to deal with crowds and need something quick it works. The down side is parking but if you go the back way and not right off of Tustin it is open with parking. Has two dept. stores, JCP and Sears, which are not as big as others but have great deals and all depts. and JCP has a salon too. I really don't go to Sears but I definitely love JCP. You have some other large retails like Walmart, Ross, World Market, Old Navy, PAC Sun and a new 24hr Super Sport. There are other smaller stores too that are interesting to look at and add to variety. Food court has options from sweets to salts and you have some great spots out of the mall like Chipotle, Red Robin, Panera, yogurt land, etc. I am leaving many out but trust their are more to choose from. read more
