This new location is located right in the heart of the village and looks absolutely fantastic! When you first walk into the store, you are greeted by a "make your own candle" bar as well as two rooms full of cool merchandise. They sell t-shirts, bags, sweatshirts, and various other things all branded with the Mystic Moto name. On top of that stuff, they even have a bike in the bake as well as some neatly decorated walls to stare at if you are waiting for someone else to finish making some candles. Overall, Mystic Moto is a fantastic little shop and a must visit if you find yourself in Big Bear Lake. This store has cool stuff, a great look, and asuper friendly staff.

What caught my attention was the guy doing the lettering and the artsy drawings decorating the windows. So cool and delicate. I stopped to chat with him and told me the store is brand new and is the business of his lovely wife, a lovely young woman of Filipino origin that make all the candles you see in the store as well as outsource to a famous shopping center in coastal San Diego area. Super hygge and cozy and smells wonderfully there. On top of candles there are numerous gifts and decorative stuff.

I didn't realize we had the option of having the candle making party in our own place - how crazy fun is that?! We booked a Saturday 11:00 am candle making private party in our Airbnb and bought some tiny bites, and setup our mimosa bar! I also bought some flowers, and played some romantic French cafe music .... it was the perfect setting. Ciarra was a wonderful teacher ... very patient! She came early and set everything up for our candle making party. I have done some candle making before with the birthday girl actually, knew a little already but learned so much from Ciarra. It was so fun smelling all the different fragrances and learning how to blend them, and learning about adding colors / blending colors... Besides being so knowledgable, she is so patient and sweet! All of our candles turned out perfectly and we all bickered as to who had the better candle lol... Even my boyfriend who tried to get out of it at first, admitted he had a good time. They have so many jar options to choose from and different price options. Loved all the scents they had available to choose. I think the only basic they didn't have was plain vanilla. They had other options but it was mixed with something else. All the other scent options great! The $5 add on for sea shells or stones for the top of your candle is a fun edition! We were able to add these half hour after making the candle. So there is a bit of a wait to let the candle settle after making it but we just walked around a bit and still were able to take out candles home same day. There is a two day wait after making it until you can use it. It's totally worth it. So much fun!

My friend and I randomly stumbled upon this place while wandering around Carlsbad Village and…read morehonestly it was such a vibe! Super fun and lowkey therapeutic which was exactly what we needed. The staff were awesome, super friendly, and walked us through everything step by step. We got to pick our own vessels and scents which was honestly the best part. I mixed mango coconut and pineapple together and it smelled so good! We threw some glitter into the soy wax mix because obviously we had to and we even got to design our own labels which turned out so cute. The candle needed an hour to cool so we went off and explored the area and then came back to top them off with some stones. They turned out so pretty omg! The price was worth it! Oh and since I was giving mine as a gift one of the staff members tied a little ribbon on my bag without me even asking which was such a sweet touch.
