In Joshua Tree, it's The End. These are not stores where you walk in and grab something off a rack and call it a day. This is where you build a look. The pieces are curated, the textures are right, and there's a very intentional mix of vintage, statement, and elevated boho that you just do not see everywhere else. You can feel that the owners understand style, not just trends, and that makes all the difference. It will take many pieces to bring it all together, so take your time. Do not rush through it. Let yourself explore, try things on, and really pay attention to what feels right. This is not about grabbing one perfect item. It is about layering, editing, and building something slowly until it becomes your look. The right jewelry, the right gloves, the right hat or bolero. Every detail matters. There are a couple crochet art pieces right outside, along with a table of crochet hats. Yes, I bought one. When you step inside, there's a hanging chair I took a selfie in. Barely made the weight limit. :). The artist's working studio is adjacent to the store. The Art Queen herself. It's quite the eclectic little store. She sells crochet tops, crochet animals, crochet hearts, crochet flowers, and well, you get the picture. Along with that hat, I also purchased a heart, bear face, and a couple flowers. All for $20! What a bargain. I'm surprised I was able to stop myself from buying more. In a trailer across the way, she sells new afghan blankets. Yes, new. Those are also reasonably priced.

Hello, I wrote a review for Smitty's Bargain Store about a year ago. Over this year I found some…read morechanges in this shop. When I made an offer of $15 for an old soldering iron. Smitty thought I had said $50. Walking back to show him the item, I found him insulting when he said "not your kind of prices" as though to call me cheap. He could not be bothered by my cash offer. He seems to be waiting to catch a big fish (aka Tourist) and has nothing of interest to us locals. 30% of their stock should be in the trash as they don't cleanup or try to sell stuff, and trash accumulates. Not a very interesting browse for true bargain hunter. Depending on the condition of an item, 75% off the retail price is interesting while deals up to 90% keep customers coming back. Stop annoying us Smitty!
