The Village Cafe opened in late 2016 beneath the Highpoint Village housing development, a massive block of flats and upmarket residences next to Hayes and Harlington station. It is a slightly spartan cafe offering a limited choice of food. Main meals are confined to burgers and breakfast - type meals, omelets etc. There is a fair range of cakes and sandwiches. Service was acceptable and my tea and cake were good. It benefits from a canalside location and being close to the station. However it never seems to be busy and I opine that the owners have made a key error in marketing here and aimed at the wrong audience. A proper restaurant would do well here aimed at the well-heeled residents above who can doubtless afford to eat out often. There are not many restaurants in Hayes and none selling European food are within a short walk, but loads of places sell fast food. Recommended for coffee and cake or a light lunch. read more
