The Victorian is an iconic Santa Monica restaurant and nightlife hot spot located on Main St just a block away from the beach. Established in 2010, The Victorian has transformed into one of the most renowned nightlife spots on the west side, boasting three full floors of DJ lineups every weekend. Its extensive wine and cocktail menu plus a Mediterranean-influenced classic American menu makes it a favorite spot for weekday happy hours and weekend brunch. I was here for an event with Besa Mi Vino and they had a western themed event. It was fun! I hope to come back on a normal day.

The entire venue looked really cool as it was supposed to replicate a big house party with the multiple levels. It was a good choice to do three levels playing different kinds of music. However, the DJs kept replaying the same songs over and over again and were kinda falling short with the music. The bartenders on the other hand were great and they put lids on your drinks! The seating area outside is super spacious and was a nice contrast from the hectic inside. Some of the people there were interesting. Overall, we all had a fun time dancing here.

This is probably my favorite place I've been for going out dancing in LA. The thing is, if you don't like the music, you can go to one of the other two floors and hear something else. There's something for everyone who likes to move to music. Because it's literally housed in an old Victorian, there's indoor and outdoor spaces, so you can cool down outside. The cocktail menu officially ends by the time you'd want to actually show up to dance, but the bartenders will still make things if you ask nicely and there's not an insane line. As far as lines go, I didn't have to wait long for a drink ever, and the line to get in moves quickly. The crowd is 20s to early 30s, not too many college kids. Can't wait to come back!

I've come here a fair amount and this place has a vibe for everyone--has party vibes upstairs, hip hop on the main floor, cool basement party vibes downstairs plus if you come here early for food it's really delicious too

I came here for a private event and had a wonderful time. This place is charming and spacious. A 15,000 sq ft. two-story house with a speakeasy in the basement and a lovely garden area across the way. It's the perfect location for a party or a wedding. You can have the ceremony in the garden and the reception at the venue. The house was actually the residence of one of the area's founding families and was moved to this location in 1973. This fascinating Victorian home was renovated and turned into a restaurant/event space. During the day it's a restaurant and in the evening it transforms into a lounge/nightclub with DJs on the weekends. It was a lovely summer day, perfect for our outdoor gathering. We played games in the garden and mingled on the patio. There were two bars, one inside and one outside. The breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, charcuterie, and canapés were yummy. The cocktails were fantastic, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are a few negative reviews about coming here at night when it converts to a lounge/nightclub. However, everything was great for this special event. I'd like to come back and enjoy brunch on the patio. Private parking lot in the back.

Do yourself a favor and choose another spot to go. You will be very unhappy with the service and ambience here.

I recently rediscovered this place, and it's by far my favorite breakfast spot in Santa Monica…read more The wait staff is friendly and attentive, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. The back patio is especially lovely; modern yet cozy, with thoughtful decor. The food blends California-fresh ingredients with Turkish and Middle Eastern flair. I especially enjoy the zucchini fritters and sausage patties, and the chicken mango salad is excellent as well. The drink menu is equally fun, with a unique variety of milks like pistachio and walnut, paired with creative beverage options. Weekdays are definitely easier since it's less crowded, but the food is consistently great no matter when you go.

I was seated outside with a view of a busy road intersection, which made for nice people watching. The menu didn't have any stand-out dishes that you couldn't find at any other brunch place and there were barely any savory vegetarian options. I went with the Napa scramble. The scramble itself was very heavy on the spinach and light on the sun-dried tomatoes, which made for a not great texture and duller flavor. I did appreciate the bites with the creamy, tangy goat cheese. The toast was just ok and the strawberry jam it came with was very runny. I did enjoy the fresh greens on the side that were lightly dressed.

Santa Monica Marmalade Cafe is a 'small neighborhood' size restaurant. We came in on a Tuesday…read moreevening in time for 3-6pm Happy Hour and were warmly welcomed by the lone front person. (Host, server, bartender, etc.). We started with a HH margarita, sliders, and fried calamari. I was pleasantly surprised by the HH serving size. For our main dinner we ordered spaghetti and meatballs and garlic shrimp linguine. Both pasta dishes were generously sized and delicious. Although there was only one person running the restaurant, we were well attended. Parking in Santa Monica is always challenging. We lucked out with metered street in front. Totally set the positive vibes to our dinner.

TLDR: Price to Quality, there are better options in Santa Monica…read more I ordered the Korean fried chicken bites, chorizo Benedict, and some coffee Coffee was okay but not great. A little on the watery side. Chicken bites came out in about 15 minutes. The coating had a very satisfying crunch, very saucy, but fell off the chicken easily and was a bit salty. This is a messy dish for sure. You will get your hands dirty! Chorizo Benedict came out about 30 minutes after order. Not great honestly. Portion size was generous. The eggs were poached decently, still runny, but the chorizo itself was bland and rather dry. The potatoes were room temperature. The bread a bit too chewy. Not AT ALL spicy. Super light on the pico de gallo. The service was rather slow for not being very busy. They didn't appear to be understaffed either. The location itself is cozy and not too loud, which is nice! Short walk from down town. The staff was kind, but boy were they slow. From being seated to paying for my meal was well over an hour! Automatic 2.5% "service fee" total was $46.50 before tip. I don't think I'll be returning unfortunately. The search for a good Benedict in LA area continues!

Oh my gosh! This place is absolutely wonderful! It's located in the hotel and we got reservations…read morebut there was a line for walk ins before 5. This place is charming and we got sat indoors overlooking the pool. It really felt like I was in another city somewhere. The servers and hosts were very attentive and very helpful answering any questions. Everything everyone ate look absolutely fantastic. Drinks: sunset spritz was a wonderful spin on the classic aperol but it had Vodka in it so it gave it an extra kick, but did not taste boozy. I also had the cucumber marg and our server asked me if I would like some Jalapeno slices in it and it really elevated the whole experience. Apps: the PEI mussels were beautifully arranged and the curry sauce that it in was very flavorful. I highly recommend this as a starter. The steak tartar was a whole show, the server walked out with a glass case that was ultra smoky, which they opened in front of you. It was a dinner and a show!! The tartar was very delicious. If you're a tartar fan, you have to get this. Wedge salad deserves it's only paragraph! It was huge, the pecans were a nice touch. I am not a fan of blue cheese dressing but it was not at all over powering. It was absolutely incredible. Mains: we ordered the branzino and these short ribs and both were cooked to perfection. The branzino had a perfect char to the skin and the server recommended the short ribs with mashed potatoes versus what it comes with which was shave carrots. The majority of the food and drinks were on special that ended 6 p m. If you do go I highly recommend going before 6. You can also valet your car and it's also discounted if you're there 2 hours or less. I will absolutely be coming back for happy hour again. Maybe even brunch!

We stayed at the Fairmont for a few days and ate breakfasts at the Fig restaurant every morning…read more The breakfasts were great. Pancakes and Waffles were served hot - something I don't take for granted these days. Eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce was on point. The smoked salmon and bagel was large enough to share. The best deal in the house is happy hour between 5 and 6 when a select menu is 1/2 price. We enjoyed the margharita pizza, pork meat balls, wedge salad, French onion soup (was a bit salty). Servers are efficient and helpful. Seating is inside and on the patio.
