    Open Mic nights!
    Aaron M.

Love this place. OPEN MICS Monday starting 8pm- sign ups at 7! Great place to stretch yourself creatively and get up on stage. $10 for 10 minutes and it's a warm community and very supportive. I have done this open mic 3 weeks now and loved my experiences every time. Musicians need a place to create and test material and here's the place to do it on the west side!

Tuesday night it is typically a Jazz night. My favorite. A few nights there is a Cover for some shows. Look at the web site to pick your best music option that fits your musical tastes. This music spot has the wide selection of Types of Music. Wide. Love that we have a small up close and personal Band Corner where you can support local Live entertainment. Do not forget to put something in the Tip Bucket. And good luck trying all the Beers on tap etc. Beer and Wine. Pool table in the back. What are you waiting for? Call a friend and say "Meet me at Trip on ____ for the group ____ it will be fun. See you there at XX pm. " Or just go and make a new friend.

Came here to see a few bands play on a Sunday night. I loved the cool design of the outside wall on Grant Avenue. The stage is pretty decently sized, enough for a 5 piece rock band. The sound was good, and they did have a sound technician. The mixer was up close to the stage and the stage is near the entrance. If you are a musician, it's a good venue to play at. It's a decent sized venue with a big bar and ample seating area. I didn't order any food but was seated at the bar and although they don't have mixed drinks, they have a lot of beer, wine, and seltzers (thankfully because I am allergic to beer). The bartender was really nice and service was fast. It's a casual dress atmosphere and it seems like a nice venue! I hope to see more bands here! Giving this place 4 stars because they didn't have any mixed drinks and being allergic to beer it's important to have other options.

Upon entrance into Tr!p, a band performed a cover of HALL AND OATS "I Can't Go For That(No One Can Do)". I enjoyed their rendition of the song. The evening's highlight was the 10:30PM music showcase. Came to support a local artist + friend. The band rocked the house!!! For the life of me, I cannot recall my beer/hard cider's name. I was informed by a local that this neighborhood bar specifically serves only wine + beer "You won't find hard liquor here" said the bar patron. Overall, it was a nice night and the staff was friendly.

Can't believe I've never been to this great local pub, music venue, sports bar as it's the real deal. Small and sorta divey (without being dirty or scary) just South of Pico on Lincoln with plenty of street parking. Saw a great local bluegrass band "The Rattlesnakes" on a Sunday night with no cover charge and lots of good beer selections. (They have food too -- but next time). Sound was clear and crisp without being too loud. They also have Trivia Fridays and other special nights. It's also an unofficial Chicago Bears Bar -- so I'm betting the games here are insane if you like "Da Bears" Now, you don't have to go to Hollywood or Culver City if you want to hear some good local music at a fair price with no attitude. Trip is indeed a trip!

We attended a show last night (Sunday.) The band was Kikimora and the acoustics were fantastic. The crowd was a pleasant blend of youthful and older faces. They were respectful of the ambiance this night in regard to the Jazz stylings of the bands playing. The bar tenders were respectful and attentive. I found few exceptions to a completely enjoyable experience; some guys in the back of the bar playing beer pong as if they were watching the playoffs or something and no body from the establishment returned my submitted email inquiry or to answer the phone. Otherwise, we are considering returning.

    Illusion enjoyed and rocked

The Santa Monica Pier to loads of fun and has fine dinning and cheap eats along with rides and shops. One of the great places to eat is The Albright. We just love it and go whenever we can. Now, parking is in the huge lot at the bottom of the pier for a fee and then there is a lot of walking to get where you want to go. Get ready for that. The area is safe and super pretty. I don't think they take reservations. You can dine there or do take away. If you can eat there it is fun. The place is super cute with lots of tables and it is clean. The service is very good and the servers seem happy. All of their food is great. We love their calamari and get it every time we go. All the seafood is super. Now, this looks like a mid range place, but if has fine dinning prices, but it is worth it because it is all so great and much of it fresh. We love their seafood platter which is snow crab claws, fresh oysters on the half shell, tail on shrimp, Peruvian scallops, green-lipped mussels, mini Mexican shrimp, mignonette, garlic aioli, classic cocktail sauce & lemons. Grilled oysters are hard to find and boy do they make them well. They are 1/2 dozen oysters grilled with garlic butter & parmesan. They even have great fish tacos. We love the grilled Mahi Mahi which is a taco with cabbage, pico de gallo, chipotle lime aioli It comes with white rice & black beans. Everything there is great. Have the best time.

Came in for happy hour... No host so you just seat yourself…read more Sat myself outside. The waiter comes, great start. Water is quick to come, and my order taken quickly. I ordered oysters and a margarita. Everything comes out quick. The oysters are nasty. I'm a big fan of oysters, but these were the saltiest, largest lumps of oysters I've ever tried. Honestly this restaurant has made me reconsider ever trying oysters again. I'm trying to convince myself the low prices are why the quality was so terrible. I sent these back and the server even sat next to me saying "oh no hard feelings" hard feelings for not being able to enjoy and eat the dish I ordered at your restaurant? Excuse me? Lol And I had a feeling ( as she did this last time I came with a friend ) she would not take the oysters off the bill ... even if you send the food back. I had to get up TWICE to get the servers attention! What am I tipping for??? The first time was to order and sent the food back, the second time was to get the check. She comes with her toast. This is smart, she does this to have you ignore that there's a 3% surcharge on every bill! (Charged by the restaurant I assume) Ask for the written check, do NOT pay directly on the tablet. As you don't see the breakdown of your bill. Why aren't you letting us see the check before paying the bill??? The toast inflates the tip to charge you for not only your food and beverage but also taxes + their 3% surcharge that doesn't even go to their staff. They'll overcharge you! She literally charged me for the oysters I sent back I even asked her if she tip shares, I'm a big tipper and wanted to give her 25% or more despite her terrible service. She said "no, thanks for asking!" Then I see she charged me for the oysters on the bill! Had to go to the bar (assuming that's where the manager is at because he was able to void them immediately) You don't tip share and this is the terrible service you provide? Overcharging guests after sitting next to them saying "no hard feelings" for not liking the oysters? One oyster was eaten.. just to try it... and I hated it and sent it back. Wow. Just low and greedy. Do better

The pizza surprised me (in a good way), and the lemon pepper chicken hit exactly how it should without being overly greasy. Small parking lot, we got lucky with exiting parties. Food was better than expected ! Pizza was great, we had the Hawaiian, margarita, and spicy pepperoni with hot honey. Can't complain, all with a thick crust, fav was Hawaiian bc of the sweet tangy pineapple. Wings are bonus, I liked lemon pepper more than the saucy ones.
