I've caught him in Portland, OR, and out on the seas. Ronnie actually played Portland the day before! I've been meaning to check out Jazz Alley, so when I heard about the opportunity to be awarded tickets to the show, I jumped on it. Jazz Alley is a lovely setup inside. The space feels sophisticated while still cozy and welcoming. and the service was spot on. We arrived early for dinner and I ordered the Beef Tenderloin Brochette Salad. My friend ordered the sole. At first I was hesitant to order this salad, thinking the beef might be chewy, but the server assured me it was tender--and it absolutely was. Perfect medium rare and truly fork-tender. The only real issue was the photo booth which only worked for the first half hour or so. I'm assuming it ran out of film or something because at some point, it just kept taking people's money without taking any photos, which was brought up to the staff. This isn't necessarily on Showbox since the photo booth is provided by a vendor, but I would've appreciated an "out of order" sign. If this happens to you, you can visit the vendor's website and call for a refund!
