I've lived here for almost a month and I must say, this is the best place I've ever lived! I have zero complaints. The location is perfect as well. I also really like how it's super quiet in the building.
Location:
The neighborhood surrounding the Van Buren is super quiet, but if you walk up the street it's very busy -- so you get the best of both worlds. We are right near Greek town, UIC, the blue line is across the street, & a 15 minute walk to Randolph (restaurant row). There are also tons of places to eat during the day and late at night.
I love how it only takes less than 10 minutes to catch the train to the heart of downtown (via the blue line). There's also a number of buses that will take you downtown in less than 10 minutes.
Parking is available on the street which is nice because parking is very high in Chicago. There is a garage attached as well that you'd have to pay for.
Staff & Safety:
The staff is sooooo nice! I love them. The concierge is very nice as well. You need a key fob to get into the building so it's super safe. There is concierge 24/7 as well.
Apartment Unit:
The apartment is very very nice. As you can see in their pictures. It would be nice if there was a water filter and ice maker on the fridge or on our floors.
The walls are not thin which is a plus.
I love having electronic keys.
Nice shower heads too lol
Facility Amenities:
Nice gym. Great pool. There's a rooftop patio next to the pool where you can grill as well. The co-working spaces are amazing for work from home days. The common areas are nice. There's fire pits on the patio which are very useful for Chicago's notorious chilly nights.
The staff throws monthly events and those are great! If you're not from Chicago it'll be a great way to meet people.
All in all, I 100% would recommend this place to anyone! read more
