I had their Barramundi fish, which was the best on this trip. My wife had Riscotto. Of course, we had plenty of appetizers, liquors, and a chocolate and a Tiramisu dessert. All was very good. Crowne Promenade is a very good hotel. The only thing we found was that our room, for whatever reason, does NOT have a phone charging cable. We even talked to the manager, who confirmed, and said our own choices were to buy or rent one. That's no help. You'd think that a phone charging cable would be standard at a hotel like this. It's the same ole, same ole breakfast that hotels serve - Boring! Having said this, we did encounter a situation that was unique and it had never occurred to us before. My wife left her reading glasses in the room - on the day that we flew from Melbourne to New Zealand! We had our tour guide, 'C'. interface and try to have the glasses sent back to our home in the States, figuring that it would be chaotic to try and have it sent to one of our hotels in NZ. I'm only reporting what I was told by 'C'. I don't know what the delay was but 'C' said the hotel "would look into it." It took 24 hours before we got a response, which I thought "Why does it take that long to 'look into it'"? Anyway, there might be some mixup somewhere, as 'C' said it would cost me $29 (AUS) to have it shipped. I understand that part of it, and thought that this is very reasonable, considering it needs to be packaged so it doesn't break during transit. It would be another 8 days before we got home. After we got home, it took almost another week for the glasses to arrive - and what was strange: There's an Import tax of $25 (US) on it! HUH? It was NOT made in Australia, nor did I buy it there, so ... why is there an Import Tax?? I was told by 'C' - that's the way Australia is and even he is confused by some of the rules sometimes. In either case, we're glad that Crown Promenade got the glasses to us, very nicely packaged protectively in a plastic case that was enclosed in quite a bit of bubble=wrap. WHEW! Thank You!
