I had to go find him. He was annoyed when I made a comment about the music. We were unable to download the info. Without even trying to help he repeated he wasn,t familiar with IPads. I asked if Laura was there. He said no. She is my mother I own the store with her and my brother. I guess he thought I was going to report him because his tone was defensive. I asked when she would be back because she is tech savvy. He said NEXT TUesday.Youu will have to go somewhere else. I told him he had a bad attitude and we had words. He obviously didn,t want to help in the first place. He acted lazy and could have cared less about helping. He is the only one I have ever had an issue with there. Suddenly Laura bursts out from the back with a mouth full of food and says Don't rom rack! Translation Don,t come back. She was there all the time on her break. If Mr Rude had just told the truth, we would have waited. He is the worst representation as a business owner I have ever seen. His unkempt appearance didn,t help. I paid this UPS Store over $200 JUST for packaging four car wheels (over $50 per wheel). This did NOT include shipping -- I provided the labels separately. These were shipped as four separate shipments (one wheel per box) and every single wheel arrived damaged. When you are paying $50+ per wheel for what is ultimately cardboard and packing materials, the expectation is that you are paying for the store's expertise and professional judgment in packaging expensive, heavy items so they actually arrive safely and undamaged. I specifically chose to pay professionals because I wanted them packaged correctly and safely. I even called ahead to discuss box size and was told extra room would be left for bubble wrap, padding, and protective material to keep the wheels immobilized. Instead, the extra space was left empty. The wheels arrived sliding around inside oversized boxes with only a couple of lightweight packing pillows that did absolutely nothing to secure heavy metal wheels. There was no meaningful foam, Styrofoam, rigid protection, or face protection, which is especially frustrating because the wheel faces (the most exposed surface) are exactly what suffered the worst damage. Afterward, I spoke with the manager, Joseph, who was polite and acknowledged the wheels had been poorly packaged. He specifically told me the store should have offered a more robust packaging option, which I absolutely would have paid for had it been offered. He also told me he intended to refund the packaging charges but said he needed ownership approval and was confident it would be approved. The next day, ownership refused. I was then told to pursue a UPS insurance claim -- despite the store acknowledging the damage resulted from inadequate packaging. UPS reviews packaging as part of any claim, leaving me in the frustrating position of being expected to pursue reimbursement for damage the store itself acknowledged resulted from how the items were packed. I remained polite and patient over multiple calls and gave the store every opportunity to make this right. Unfortunately, after they refused to even refund the packaging charges, I was left to pursue other avenues. See the photos and judge for yourself how a heavy wheel would fare bouncing around in a box with that much empty space and so little protection. If you are shipping anything valuable, fragile, or heavy, I would think very carefully before trusting this location to package it.

BEWARE: Apparently Refrigeration Is a Secret VIP Benefit. Now I understand why this location has a…read morelow star rating. This review is for the UPS Store at 8226 Menaul Blvd NE in Albuquerque. For approximately nine months, I had refrigerated medication shipped to this location as a UPS Access Point. Every shipment was refrigerated, so I reasonably believed temperature-sensitive medications would be handled appropriately. Then one shipment was left unrefrigerated and ruined. An employee acknowledged the issue and documented it. Management had my contact information. No one called. No one apologized. No one followed up. When the replacement shipment arrived, I finally heard from management not to apologize, but to explain that refrigeration is merely a "courtesy" for non-mailbox customers and that I should not expect my medication to be refrigerated unless I pay for a mailbox. So apparently the policy is: refrigerate medication for nine months, never tell the customer it's optional, leave a shipment out and ruin it, then explain afterward that the customer should have somehow known better. Even more impressive was being told that the store bears no responsibility because I didn't pick up the package fast enough. Apparently accepting temperature-sensitive medication and then failing to store it properly is not the issue the customer is. If refrigeration is not guaranteed, customers should be told before packages are accepted, not after a shipment is damaged. Based on my experience, if you have refrigerated medication, choose a different UPS Access Point.

I don't recall phoning Valverde, thus confusion regarding what type of service provider was calling, as I have made many calls to a few types of repair people for multiple quotes. When I asked for clarity, the person on the other end of the line was rude in response... within the first 10 seconds. Ok, I'll let that slide--maybe he hasn't had his coffee yet. During the call, as we were discussing the replacement of kitec plumbing--a well documented safety risk with a class-action lawsuit that makes homes uninsurable--the owner was rude in tone. I got the impression that our phone call was annoying to him, and he likely thinks I am stupid. He asserts that the recalled plumbing is fine unless visibly leaking and "its basic" to tell if it leaks. This information is demonstrably FALSE as documented clearly in the class action suit. I let him go mid call. Not only is he rude, but misinforming a potential customer in a negligent manner. Hopefully his license covers negligence, as he might need it. If I am going to give someone tens of thousands of dollars to do work in my home, it is reasonable to expect a basic level of respect during the first phone call (and beyond). After speaking to the presumed owner, I feel bad for whomever the nice secretary is. She must be on the receiving end of his customer service skills all day. I will never call this company again.

The smell was completely gone when he arrived. His conclusion as he left was I needed to replace the heating system. When I returned I called Valverde/Bond Plumbing and spoke with Lacey and asked if they might come out and look at the system. This was on a Friday and they were booked but Lacey called me back several times that day to say they were trying to get to me. By 5pm the service Tech John Montoya was at my house. I told him about the skunk smell the week before and he thought one probably sprayed near the house and the smell came into the basement from the vents. He turned the gas back on and spent an hour checking all the gas lines, thermostat etc. and said nothing was wrong with the boiler. He turned the gas back on and installed a carbon monoxide detector I had purchased. This was a month ago and the boiler has been working perfectly so no new Heat system needed after all. Thank you Larry Mapes owner of Valverde Energy/Bond Plumbing for hiring hard working, caring and skilled people.

Rod is the right man to call for water system installations and repairs.

As I arrived I saw an elderly woman struggling with multiple boxes. We had just had a winter storm so it was snowy, cold & windy I held the door open for her. That when the owner of the store yelled at me to close her door I informed her I was trying to hold it until the woman got her last box another customer came and picked the large box up for her. I then closed her door which I read the signs on the door as I always re read them as I make occasional drop offs at that location one sign says limit 2 customers as I'm waiting my turn. My turn came I informed a young polite gentleman that I was there for a pickup he looked around came with the package I handed him my ID & signed for my package she stated my cost was $5. I apologized for not being prepared I've never picked up before didn't know there was a cost & was rushing so I did neglect to read the full email. My bad things are a bit more hectic these days! So I run out get $5 cash to make it easy from there on out another lady walked in while I was outside the young man was explaining I just had to pay and he's be right with her she agreed as I was walking in again & she was walking out. That's when this lunatic starts yelling asking if I don't know how to read!? I am in total shock even though she is always very rude! I explain that I just have to hand him the cash and get my package & ID. She continues to yell so I cut her off & ask for her supervisors name. She yells that she's the owner and at the top of her lungs that she has the right to refuse service to anyone she wants and some other nonsense that I blocked out as it was completely uncalled for and downright rude! What really bothered me was that she came from the other side of the counter to get within a door of my face which hello were in a pandemic. Please stay six feet away from me as your sigh states! I informed her if it's her store I will NEVER go back, because she was rude since the get go & I also informed her that she's a CRAZY BITCH! I am a painter/print-maker working in Taos NM. I ship a majority of my pieces out of state (primarily in the 48 states). I have used The UPS Store exclusively for the past 10 years. Absolutely satisfied with their service and customer-relations responses. In one instance I could not find any inventory sheet from the gallery I had shipped work to months previously; the gallery indicated they had not received it; I asked the owner if UPS might still have a record of the delivery; too much time had passed for a "normal" UPS search to work, so she called a number of her contacts at UPS headquarters and was able to track my shipment (it had been delivered - the gallery had misplaced it - they eventually located it). She had to go through a lot of extra, "pain-in-the-neck", time-consuming searching to answer my concerns - her efforts helped me keep my relationship & business with that gallery flowing smoothly. Please keep in mind that her business is on a daily deadline in order to intake shipments and prep them for pickup that same day, so she has to be efficient with every customer. I have been a client of the UPS store since I moved to Taos over thirteen years ago. Throughout I have depended on the owner to provide a safe location where I can securely receive and send mail, fax documents, and have documents notarized, make copies, etc...I have always appreciated her professionalism and courteous treatment of me, especially during this past year, when she has striven, under extremely challenging circumstances, to provide a safe environment for customers and employees alike. I think this past year has brought out the best in Jeanne, and unfortunately, the worst in some of her customers. I cannot remember when I have encountered someone so rude! Not only was she rude and short when I called but even after coming there with large heavy boxes... she was even more disgusting to deal with. I took my $200 business to Fed Ex. They even helped carry my package. I mentioned where I had just been and they said they hear a lot of complaints about the lady (not a lady at all an awful witch) running that store. Then I had the conversation with a few other people in town and heard the same thing. That she was also that way at her previous employments. More than just her having a bad day. I very highly recommend The UPS Store in Taos, New Mexico! I had several photography-related items (and exposed film) worth several thousand dollars shipped from the store to my house. I insured the items for their replacement value and Jeanne assured me that my items (some of which are irreplaceable) would be professionally packed. Indeed, the boxes arrived in excellent condition, and inside the boxes, each item was very carefully wrapped and the spaces between items were similarly packed well to ensure the equipment did not move around significantly. I went in two times this week to pick up a package that I had sent from Amazon. Both times I received by far the best service I have ever had at any UPS store. The service was quick efficient and so felt like so was valued customer. If it was possible I would do all my business there but unfortunately it is a bit of a drive from California. I have always had a good experience whenever I go there and I am always greeted warmly. Now, with the COVID issue, I feel safe going to her store.
