worst experience ever! had an appointment for fingerprint scanning, only to be told when I got there the machine was broken. I had to give my name, phone and email when booking so they could have easily contacted me. called Monday to inquire if machine was fixed, it was and I was told it required an appointment. I booked a new appointment for 9am specifically for fingerprinting. called the morning of to ensure the machine was working only to be told it doesnt turn on until 10am and it is first come first serve!! what a waste of time!!! read more

I ran into a situation where I forgot to bring some printed materials for an event that I was going to do. Because I could not turn back and retrieve the materials, I had to try to call anybody that did printing wells on the road. Fortunately for me, this UPS store, 45 minutes from closing, agreed to print my materials which were about 250 pages. Did I pay more, sure. But, they saved my hide and I am grateful. These folks understand printing, and have excellent equipment. Yet, their pricing is rock bottom. What I like best, though, is their commitment to quality. Read on... I brought in a brochure to be color-printed. Turns out the designer used a sub-par software, making all text blurry. Yet, I needed good-quality brochures in 48 hours! The owner Bill Nieland couldn't bring himself to produce this bad copy, and unleashed his designer Jonah to fix the file. Jonah essentially recreated it into a format that looked good when printed. They hit the deadline, and we had materials for the trade show. Despite the "fire drill," we didn't get a single additional charge! I recommend this UPS location for all your printing needs, at the best price in town (seriously, I have checked). read more

My sisters and I went to FL to move my dad from his house to an assisted living facility. It was an awful job- mentally and physically difficult. The very bright spot of our week was The UPS Store. Dad had crystal glassware and sterling silver tea sets from his mother and grandmother. We wanted to keep it all in the family so we shipped it to our homes. Bill, the owner/manager said that he'd insure our cartons but only if he packed the items to ensure it would be delivered without damage. I thought it was a scam but then realized that our own packing job was completely inadequate. Bill carefully packed each item into a carton, then placed that carton inside a second carton that was lined with bubble wrap. We had a total of 7 cartons and Bill spent more than an hour on us. Apparently he had each of his employees professionally trained to properly pack fragile items. If items are delivered damaged, his store pays the insured value. UPS shipping isn't cheap, then adding the cost of their packing it for you adds up in a big hurry. But these are heirlooms. Insurance or not, they needed to be delivered without damage. We received our cartons of crystal, glass, silver, ceramics in perfect condition so far. Florida to NC and CT. The cartons to NM are expected to be delivered tomorrow. It wasn't cheap but Bill delivered as promised and we felt it was worth the cost. We learned that they do shredding too. So we went back with a pile of Dad's old files that needed to be destroyed. They charged me $25 to ship me a ring. The ring weighs 1.5 oz and was uninsured. $25!!!!!! A complete rip off, I was unaware that the charges would be that much and I was forced into paying for it because of an estate sale. read more

I have used the other UPS stores and I have to say that this Peachland Blvd location is the best! Every single time I have gone in (and it has been quite a few times this year), I am greeted by employees that are always friendly and helpful. I don't even dread going in to ship things anymore because it is always a great experience. I have to wonder about the bad reviews if they are even talking about this Peachland location or just any UPS store in general because this one is great. Also, I'm just going to say that I honestly can't see giving a place a bad review just because the software on a computer is not user friendly. Really. Brings down the whole store and the employees due to something that is completely beyond their control. Anyway, I will continue to drive a little further out of my way to use this location over the other one in Port Charlotte. My boyfriend and I were visiting from out-of-town. We had to complete an urgent document. UPS saved our lives! We were able to print, sign, and scan our documents before our very urgent deadline. Do not ship from this UPS location!! As the owner is quick to point out, each franchise is run differently; my experience here felt more like doing business with an extortion center than a shipment center.. I'm sure UPS would not consider these business practices synonymous with their brand. The "labor" price is exorbitantly high and additional packing materials might be added without your expressed wishes or consent. Should you point out that these costs are higher than customary, your concerns will go ignored and they will continue as if you aren't speaking at all. This was my experience. Never in my life have I had the police called over a retail transaction after informing the retailer that I was not interested in their service.. While all of our communication was calm and civil it seemed this pleasant young lady standing before him, declining to complete this transaction, was interpreted as threatening because the profiteer felt it necessary to hit the panic button to alert the police of our discrepancy. Patiently we waited for the Port Charlotte Sheriff to sort out this ridiculous issue. I guess Samuel (though his name tag states "Scott") provided an interesting anecdote for future laughs but as a service to future patrons I post this caution.. Go anywhere but this UPS store! read more

I went in to try to "easily" and "quickly" print out some documents. What a nightmare. The software program is difficult to negotiate and not user friendly. What was supposed to take about 5 minutes, took 45! Please find a way to remedy that. The employee was trying hard to expedite the process but was not able to due to the poor printing software. read more
