Someone seriously needs to speak to the 2 men who work there during the day. Every time I go in they are talking about sports so loudly that it actually hurts your ears. They continue to yell about it over your head as they help you. And it takes forever for them to acknowledge a customer. Normally I wouldn't complain but this has happened multiple times now and it's such an unpleasant experience going in there and having two men just yell loudly in your ear. Gave my package over to the person at the front counter at 548pm. Driver was still there and loading packages from the store into the truck. I asked both the ups driver and the staff inside if my package would be shipped that day. Both said Yes, the driver is still here and taking packages. Well, they didn't give him the package and it wasn't given over to ups until the next day. This is not the first time that they did this. I usually go to another store out of my way just to avoid this Merrick location. Because of the delay in giving my package to ups, I missed my clients event. This store is horrible. Stay far away. Go to the UPS store in Freeport instead. Their staff is much nicer and they actually give the packages to the ups driver when they come. Stay away from the Merrick UPS store on Merrick Road. You can bring something not packed, an address, and your money, and they will take care of the rest. Came here on October 18th, was helped by Eric. This place should be called "UPS Miracle Store". My father in law is in Florida and needed some good Italian goodies. I had brought him this 1/2 gallon of breadcrumb stuffed cherry peppers which I know he loves. So I walked in expecting to have to buy a ton of packing peanuts, bubble wrap, and all sorts of stuff to try and keep this from breaking. Eric said, "don't worry about it, we'll take it from here", and put it on the scale and asked for ship to/from addresses. I was in and out in two minutes and feel 100% confident that this is taken care of. Price was reasonable too. This dude Eric had a halo over his head. Now clearly, if these cherry peppers break in shipment or never show up by Wednesday as quoted, I suppose I'd update the review... but not putting those thoughts out there. read more

We ordered bookcases from IKEA that were delivered in perfect condition to our Merrick address then used this UPS store to ship them to our primary residence. Two bookcases were damaged and destroyed by UPS before reaching us and the other two were damaged and returned to the Merrick store. The store is refusing to refund our nearly $1000 shipping costs citing insufficient packaging. It was packaged by IKEA and was incredibly sturdy when we left them in this shop's care. The service agent at this store even admitted to my husband that the packages were damaged before leaving their store. Now, both this franchise and HQ continue to give us the runaround, citing that it may take months to reach a conclusion. Do NOT use this store. read more

Very rude , disrespectful , staff! I was not allowed to drop off my Amazon large (!)package because it was not packed correctly. I was the only client in the store. I took my package and tried to remove a piece of carton that was preventing the package to be sealed. At that point one of the workers started yelling at me that I have to leave now! I tried to explain that I need a moment to gather my package, he became very abusive and started yelling and cursing. Next he took a piece of cardboard that fell out of my package and threw it out of the door. I am extremely upset! read more

I tried to drop off a shipment with was prepaid by verizon at this store I was told the box needed to be taped the box had locking corners so it was secure or ups won't take it I informed the clerk that this is the way it came from ups so they do accept the box as is. He said it would be a few dollar to put tape on it. They look to hit the customer for any additional fee so they can make more money on prepaid packages. read more

Horrible customer service. These people don't know what they are doing. I left items at this UPS twice. Once in the morning and the second one in the afternoon. The gentleman in the morning didn't charge me anything because I already was charged up front when I did the return label online. I come back in the afternoon and a different guy was there, with who seems to be the manager and they scammed me for more money. That's ridiculous. I just can't believe that if you print a page it is $1.25 or so but if you forgot to print you amazon label the charge $5.42 it is a ripoff!!! Would rate this lower if it was possible. Horrible communication and customer service. I had a package not get delivered by the guaranteed date. I called corporate immediately after receiving the package late. They instructed me to contact this store since it was shipped from there. I contacted the store and they told me it would take 2 weeks to get the refund. This was in June and still no refund. I called them back today and they told me there would be no refund because the address was incorrect. (Side note: I had deliveries from Amazon and FedEx shipped to the same address without any issues). The guy argued with me and told me it was a fact that the address was wrong even though 2 other services shipped to the exact same address with no delays. I called corporate and they told me that no refund was ever processed from the store level and that now it is too late since it is past the 15 day period. I am currently on hold to talk to a supervisor but bottom line... Avoid this place like the plague, they flat out lied to me about the refund and then wanted to take no responsibility for it. I ship packages every month through UPS for my business and will be switching to FedEx immediately. read more

Asked why so much- said international shipping always a lot- even at post office.....said post office may even be upwards of $300?? Went across the street to the post office....$40 to ship. I am not at all surprised to read other negative reviews about Jonah on here. Seems I am not the only one he has cursed at and been rude to! He swore at me and my two year old son today after I pointed out that he had been unnecessarily rude to me. Then he told me he was going to throw my package in the garbage and refused to serve me. What a horrible, awful and aggressive person. He had a bad attitude from the beginning for no apparent reason. How he still has a job there I do not know, but I hope they fire him soon. I have never in my life encountered a ruder store manager than at this store. I had dropped a package off and did not receive a receipt, (NEVER DO THAT!!! Especially Here! ) anyway I had called a few days later concerned that the tracking information shows nothing! NEVER DEPEND ON PACKAGE GETTING THERE ON TIME! IT TOOK 5 days to receive a package that was supposed to be next day delivery!!! Worst customer service! If i could give it a zero, i would. The day after the 3 inch snow fall, we paid for overnight shipping to Washington DC. We never advised that there may be delays due to the so-called "snow storm" ....For the past 5 days we have been given the runaround by the store owner & customer service dept. Horrible Customer Service! I went to this store an hour and a half before closing and asked if the representative could print an invitation for me. When he told me he couldn't do it right away, I was surprised but accepted it. I was supposed to get an email with the price that evening, which I never received. went back to the store the next day and had the same representative tell me that he never said he would never send me an email that evening and that I would have to come back if I wanted prints. But if you're having packages redirected here as a "non customer", yes even if you did the whole nine (made a ups online account, set this place as your redirected package pickup access point), prepare for a barrage of passive aggressive comments from the manager, I emphasize, the manager. The young guys who work there are extremely great, but this manager will bore you to death with his comments about how he should reject non customer packages, charge you a fee, how he should get out of this program he has to be in as franchise. But why is that my problem, why do I have to hear this each time? When I buy from a store and they ship packages VIA UPS isn't the service paid for already? And That's the main problem with this store, it's a franchise, so UPS corporate can ask him to not be a *insert favorite French word* and keep his complaints to himself and give courteous service, but it's not guaranteed. Just find a corporate run UPS store and have your packages redelivered there. I'll do this to avoid this maniac potentially damaging my products because I don't trust him now. Awful custom service. I felt not like I was receiving service but being ripped off. I had a package to send from an item I sold on e-bay. The online estimate based on the size and weight was $40. When I got there they charged me $125 and then told me I had to buy $50 of packing material or my insurance would be void. I had another box the same exact size and weight which I shipped several days later, and it only cost me $40. This was a terrible experience. I contacted customer support and they were very friendly but in the end did nothing to fix the situation other than tell the store manager (the same one that was there when I brought in my package) who proceeded to bulls**t me in defense. I came to this store to send a package. The box had an address on it as I used the same box to return something. The sales person was on the phone with someone else while helping me. He put the address into his computer and told me there is no address like that. I asked how this was possible if the address is right on the label. He said he could send it to an approximate location but it might come back though. He wanted me sign a paper that I agreed to send it an approximate location. He was still on the phone so he didn't pay much of attention to what he was doing for me. When I checked the label he printed out, I noticed he used a wrong zip code. I told him that he should have been more attentive to me as his mistake would have cost me more money and hassles. I asked him for his name and his managers name but he became aggressive and told me to get the f*** out of his store. I said I wouldn't leave until he gives me his name. He called the police and so did I. They came, but of course not much they really could do about any of that. Not did he just make a mistake but he was rude and nasty. The worst UPS store. I needed to print a UPS label to send my return back. Paid $5 to use the computer and the printer as directed by the employee. The printer was broken, and after the staff fixed it, the label came out with the wrong format. The employee rudely told me that this wasn't their problem, and if I needed the label, I should pay $5 again. I have been going to this store for about 10 years since they opened it.
