I had a wonderful experience with Arlene at ABCO Art. I brought in an older St. John's University diploma plaque that had become damaged around the edges, expecting that I would probably need to spend quite a bit to have it repaired or reframed. Arlene could not have been nicer or more helpful. She carefully looked at the diploma, explained my options, and rather than simply trying to sell me an expensive framing job, she actually called St. John's University to find out whether I could obtain a replacement diploma. She then suggested a much less expensive framing option that would solve the problem beautifully. I was particularly impressed by her honesty. She could easily have sold me the more expensive option, but instead took the time to find a solution that would save me a considerable amount of money. That kind of personal service is increasingly rare. Arlene was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely interested in helping me find the best solution rather than the most expensive one. So I always thought this place was sorta abandoned? Or a front for the mob? I grew up in Bellmore, but now I'm adult and actually need to put frames on my pictures/ paintings. I took them here- and they are open. So professional, so nice. Great suggestions- all different price ranges. Got two paintings framed and LOVE the work. It was even faster than I thought. Like less than two weeks! Do yourself a favor and come here and not Hobby Lobby. I went there first. Eyeroll. This is so much more customized. I needed to get a few prints framed for my bedroom. The prints were several different sizes, some of them obscure sizes. My brother recommended ABCO Art because of the beautiful custom-framing he got last summer on two antique maps. When I arrived, the owner measured each print, and suggested different ways to frame each piece. Then, she took the time to compare different frame styles and colors for each of my pieces. I brought some items to be framed. One of them had dirt under the glass and Arlene agreed to correct it. She made a nasty comment about Trump supporters and although I did not respond once she realized that I didn't agree with her her entire attitude changed toward me. She was very nasty. Politics has no place in a small business. I deserve to be treated the same way as everyone else. I would not recommend doing business with her. This frame store was run by an amazing man. His daughter now runs it. I took prints in today to be framed and her tone and body language was so mean. She stopped helping me without saying anything to help another customer who came in after me. She was harsh and rude and I will never go back there. I'm not sure what her story is but she clearly doesn't like people. I would not recommend. read more

This was my second time going because I was so happy the first time. The work is excellent and the service is done with a smile. Very happy with the service. Store is very COVID compliant with wearing masks and provides gloves and hand sanitizer for in store. If multiple people are in there she will have them social distance throughout the store. read more
