I normally don't post ratings on Yelp, but they're independently contract and the owner needs to get reprimanded for his piss poor service and attitude I sent my postcard calendar to the Latham UPS Store via email with instructions on what to do. When I called to follow up, they refused to answer the phone, claiming to be busy. I understand that busy stores can happen, but other UPS Stores find ways to answer the phone. If the Latham store is that busy, maybe they need to hire an answering service. I couldn't get through to tell them when I was planning to pick up my calendar, or to see if it had been successfully printed. When I showed up the following week, as I had instructed in the email and voicemail, neither the manager nor the employee could find my order. A few years ago, when I went to print something at the Latham UPS Store, the register was broken and they could only accept cash. Then, a year later, their machine was broken and they couldn't print in color or on cardstock. I was forced to go to a different UPS Store, where the service was completely different. They gave me outstanding service, efficient results, and were able to print, hand-cut, and deliver my order the same day. The Latham store won't do any of those things. The worst part of my experience at the Latham UPS Store was when the manager couldn't find my files and gave me an attitude. He said, "We waited for you, but you never showed up, so we trashed them." I explained that I had called him to tell him when I was coming and to see if he had any questions, but he didn't answer the phone. He then sent his employee on a wild goose chase to find the files, blaming her for his incompetence and broken machines. He has piss-poor customer service skills and should not be in business. Finally, he said, "We're not going to do it at all." I was shocked and disgusted by how unorganized they were. I know they wouldn't trash 50 double-sided color copies on cardstock because I took too long to show up. Color toner and cardstock are both expensive. Either they didn't do the job at all, or the manager is a stupid ass who has no business sense or customer service skills. I will never be using the Latham UPS Store again. Overpriced significantly from the USPS, plus the have more rules (i.e. Products cannot be shipped in their original boxes) that the friendly Post Offices do not. \ And then there is the Manager, who is on a power trip. My guess is he is unhappy with his life, so he takes it out on customers. He told me in a most aggressive tone that I was FORBIDDEN from EVER speaking to ANY of his female employees. But he wouldn't show me the security tape which he claimed showed my egregious behavior. When I demanded more, he called the Colonie Police on me. I am now BANNED under threat of immediate arrest if I try to enter thru the door! BTW I taught at nearby Siena College from 2000-2007 to rave reviews by the young students, fellow colleagues, and administrators. I trust them a lot more than I do "Grumpy Garret". One young delivery male worker who has to interact with him said, when I asked him what he thought of the manager, he immediately replied: "Oh he's a f--k--g as-h-l-. No problem Garret! You and your little Woke Dictatorship need not worry. In fact I am banning myself from the entire Plaza that you are located in! It's OK. This UPS store does it again!! When I moved about a mile down the road I started coming here sometimes once or twice a week. This became my "home office" Since settling in my new home I now have a printer /computer /scanner etc. So my need to visit are less.... until Christmas! Lots of gifts to ship and return. Made the mistake of buying the biggest dollhouse I could find a Target for my granddaughter. Could barely fit up the stairs to her bedroom so decided to return it. After Christmas I took it back to Target (where I bought it and a couple Target employees put it into the back of my SUV) But for the return, I struggled to get it in and out of my SUV and finally into the Target store where they promptly told me I was "outside the return window" and nothing they could do - even when I asked to speak to a manager. The Target app on my phone showed that I started the return process. After the New Year, everyone in my house got Covid so I was recuperating and quarantining) so it was late January when I actually tried to return this. Target manager told me all I could do was try to take it to UPS...Thanks a lot Target. Struggled to get it back in my SUV, (barely fit in a cart) drove to my UPS store in Newton Plaza backed the SUV right up to the front door and asked my team of UPS guys if they could show me how to print the return label (they did, apparently pop-up blockers on your phone will not allow a UPS label to print ) but they figured it out for me because I'm somewhat technically challenged. They said if I could print a label, I could return it! I said Great, I'll go get it (told him it was a huge doll house and my Target saga... ) and the UPS gentleman helping me with the return proceeded to follow me to the car, helped me get it out and into the store (it was about 12° outside) I didn't ask him for help, didn't think that was appropriate. When I tried to help him he said I got it, I held the door open for him and he said you're all set we'll take care of it for you, hit it in my receipt and I was off. Wished I just started out of UPS - this place is the best, everyone I meet is always helpful, professional, & efficient just what you need in a home office. If you're still reading this, as a side note, it was last Christmas season at this same UPS that one of the workers would belt out Beatles tunes while he was working & he had a great voice. I just had the worst experience at this location. I arrived at the store before closing time to a younger girl holding the front door half way. I approached her and let her know that I was picking up a package and the store should still be open since it is before 6.30 pm. She looked at me and said 'no.' Then she stared at me with a smirk and closed the door. i have no words! I will call the store tomorrow and try to talk to the manager but from the reviews, I don't think I will get any sort of resolution. I will never use this store again. read more

I wanted to correct an error in my review of UPS store about shipped clothes to Mexico which were returned damaged and unable to be delivered. The manger Chris did give me the 1 most deadline, but I had forgotten about that. It was hard as my friend spoke Spanish was hard to file such a claim. Sorry about that. I hope the manager of the Loudon Rd Store treats her employees better than she treats her customers. Here is what you need to know: Upgrading to 2nd day is a 'if we feel like doing it' service - Foolishly on Friday, 12/18 at 11:58 AM I spent $52 to send a package 2nd day that was 1.1 lbs from Albany to Tampa. The expected delivery date was 12/22. The package arrived on 12/24. As a result of the delayed delivery I was looking to get the up-charge of $30 refunded. The exchange between the store manager and me: Excuse number 1-the delay was because the truck was too full on Friday when it came to Loudon Rd to pick up packages. There was no room to take my 1.1lb, 2nd day package. Excuse number 2 - everyone that came in that day sent their package 2nd day which is why mine was left until Monday. Excuse number 3 - UPS Headquarters policy is no refunds. The manager with an angry tone told me to go to UPS' website. MY REQUEST- STOP selling services you have no intention of being able to fulfill... I understand Covid and holiday demands but these two reasons do not apply to my situation. STOP hiding behind UPS Corporate as to your reason for not being able to give a refund. NEVER tell a customer to go to a website when they are standing in front of you. NEVER yell at a customer in front of your employees or other customers. FALL into line with every other business in the world that is required to fully disclose terms and conditions of service including NO refunds BY DISPLAYING PRINTED DISCLOSURES in your stores that state 2nd day is not guaranteed for any reason including the pickup truck being too full and STATE that UPS will not give refunds for any reason. UPS Headquarters - Send this manager to take remedial customer service training to learn how to treat customers appropriately. She is hurting your brand. My take away - I will no longer set foot in that store where I was treated so poorly and I will never pay an up-charge to send a package. I will be more efficient and send weeks ahead of time. Extremely rude workers and larger woman not wearing mask behind counter. Unnecessary charges even though Amazon instructions were to just have them scan and pack it (it has always been free and easy). The workers were all making rude comments and saying they were ready to "fight customers" and how much they hated helping customers which was very unprofessional. I had good experiences in the past and I will not be returning to this location, very disappointed in their attitudes and safety procedures. read more

i had next day air delivery I ordered may 18th my package was supposed to be delivered no later than May 20th , everyday they emailed the 20th of may they said package on truck delivery today before 9 pm. I waited package never came, the next day i tracked it said package on truck to be delivered today the 21st of may , this took place everyday it is now the 23rd of may and no package,. tracked it again now they say package will be delivered tuesday the 26th now 7 days for express delivery what a joke , i would recommend don/t use ups fed ex would be way better. its on the truck for 7 days are you kidding me\ read more

I would suggest USPS or FedEX I had a package that had to be shipped, and I had the shipping number. I first was at the Hub, but was sent to this store. I go in, and the lady who was there was a mess doing something. So when it came my time she was completely clueless of what to do, and then tried telling me that I was suppose to go to the hub. After telling her I was sent here, she tried to find my information, and doing so she used the phrase "You learn something new everyday", followed by a snarly laugh. The lady did not seem to be totally informed or trained on what to do because once the package was sent, it was sent to the wrong location, or the address she had put down was incomplete because the delivery was unable to be successful in result of me having to step in, and get a lot of additional information. I send files here often to print on their color printer and every single time no one can figure out how to properly send a simple PDF to the color printer. Very pleasant staff, clean and organized shipping services but the print services are in need of a tune up. read more

I use this store for returning amazon merchandise with pre-printed return labels. Location is clean and staff are professional. There is usually not a long wait as the staff is pretty efficient. I haven't had the occasion to use them for any other services, so I can't comment on those, but for amazon returns they are great. read more

I went to interpret for a friend to mail a package to Mexico sometime in November as he had lost 2 by mail from the post office. So we went to the Latham Store in Newtonville and paid the money. A few weeks later it never arrived and when my friend called the UPS number they said the package made it to Columbia, Mexico but could not be delivered because UPS can't deliver clothes. They never told us that in that Latham store. When we spoke with the manager Chris he had no idea... anyway..it was sent back to the Latham store, but it had been broken into a d some clothes were stolen. We asked for money back but Chris said my friend could only get back $100.00 as he had only the minimum insurance. Now just yesterday Chris the Latham manger called and said we only had a month to ask for the $100.00 back because a month had passed ...he called me on 12/29.. He never told us we had a month window. He should have known mailing clothes was prohibited by UPS. Awful.. Do NoT send international with them. Very very bad! read more
