It is sunday at 1:41pm google says they are open till 3 pm. I have come here twice in three weeks on a weekend and they have closed earlier than their hours. i have sat in the parking lot writing this review to watch 5 more people walk up to see they are closed. so either you need to shorten your hours hire more help or or at least update the hours on the website if closing early !!!!! read more

CAUTION: Be knowledgeable of UPS rates before using this location!!!! They took advantage of my elderly father. He was shipping a 9lb package to my brother in Seattle. My dad asked for pricing and said there was no hurry on getting it there. He was given 3 rates to choose from: $100, $80 or $65. My dad chose the cheapest price he was given....$65!!!! He called me and asked why it cost so much. I looked up the rates online last night and told him it was less than $25!!! I immediately called this UPS location as I live over 60 miles away. The man who answered, who did not state his name, back peddling said if my dad returned he'd give a refund. He knew he was wrong but thought he could get away with it. My dad was refunded and charged the appropriate rate. $26. Big difference Had I not called, they would have gotten away with gouging a senior. Unethical business practice. There's another UPS store on Caton & 59. Try that one instead. read more

Our local post office is garbage. They expect you to know everything about the post office and have everything 100% ready before you stand in a big long line. I do a lot of music related things with CDs and t-shirts, and have shipped multiple items all over the world. No job is too big or small for these guys. All I have to do is give them the item, destination, and then they give me the options, and then I pay. Nice and easy...they way I need it. And everything gets to its destination. These guys are kind, patient, and have amazing customer service! I used to be a retail manager, so when I say they have fantastic customer service, I mean exactly that! read more

I inherited a wooden early 20th century wood/inlaid steamer trunk that was used by my my grandmother when she immigrated to the United States from Asia Minor in the early 1900s. I had previously used a UPS/FED-EX business in the area, but because I thought this to be a freight issue, I called UPS freight and given the size of the trunk they referred me to the UPS Store #5307 in Joliet, IL on Essington Rd. This was my first experience with this store. After the staff finally figured out how to weigh the trunk, I paid and left. I had no reservations about how the trunk would be treated, When the trunk arrived at my house my alarmed UPS driver cautioned me that there could be damage as the cardboard box had been mutilated in two spots. He left his name in case I needed his help. I photographed the container. Upon opening it I first saw an exposed corner of the trunk, totally unprotected, and STYROFOAM PEANUTS WERE THE ONLY BARRIER between the trunk and the unreinforced cardboard. The trunk had no significant damage by chance. I contacted the UPS store on Essington Rd. and sent the photos to the manager. I asked for the UPS Store #5307 to share in the cost of the shipping as they had put my trunk in great jeopardy. I checked with Mail Boxes and Parcel Depot, the store I had used for twenty years, and the owner said the trunk would have been bubble wrapped and styrofoam panels would have been placed as an additional barrier between the trunk and the box. He said that peanuts alone would never be adequate for an item like a trunk due to the object's weight and the inevitable settling of the "peanuts". So an 80 lb trunk was placed in an un-reinforced cardboard box with peanuts that predictably settled, leaving unprotected coroners and edges. I will never use this store again. If you have UPS or FED-EX needs, in the same neighborhood, on the street you can find Mail Boxes and Parcel Depot. They know their business and are more likely to give your shipment the care it deserves. read more
