1-Star Review - UPS Store #0936, Denver (1685 S Colorado Blvd) I had one of the most ridiculous customer service experiences I've seen in a long time at this UPS Store location. I stopped in simply to ship a package. When I realized the store charges $9 just to pack the item, I decided to buy the box from them and pack the item myself, which I did right there in the store. After finishing packing, I went to the counter and asked the employee Devon (#275775) for two small pieces of tape to close the box. He refused. I had literally just purchased the box from them and only needed tape to seal it. When I questioned this absurd policy and asked to speak with a manager, Devon told me he was the manager and that if I wanted tape I would have to pay the $9 packing service fee, even though I had already packed the box myself. That makes absolutely no sense. Instead of helping resolve the issue, Devon doubled down on it. I left the store without shipping the package. As I was walking out, Devon laughed and sarcastically told me "have a nice day." When I looked back through the window, both employees were laughing. Completely unprofessional. Once in my car, I immediately called the UPS customer support line, who transferred me to customer relations where I filed a formal complaint. I also followed up with an email and written complaint. UPS corporate actually supported my complaint, stating that this is not how UPS stores should treat customers, especially when the customer already purchased the packaging from the store. Later that same day, I went to another UPS Store nearby. The employee there apologized for the experience, packed the box properly, added internal protection for the item, taped it, and did everything free of charge. She even told me that this is not the first time customers have come to them complaining about this particular location (#0936). That says a lot. UPS corporate has already emailed me with an apology and stated they will look into the behavior of this young manager, Devon. Bottom line: This situation was completely unnecessary and easily avoidable. Refusing a customer two pieces of tape after they bought a box from your store is petty, hostile, and terrible customer service. I will never return to this location again, and I recommend going to another UPS Store if you want to be treated with basic professionalism. read more

Not sure about the other negative reviews, maybe most are old, but this was my first experience with this UPS store and it went great! I had to do a few Amazon returns and called ahead of time to make sure this location accepted them. The gentleman I spoke to was informative and prompt. When I got inside the store, the line was almost out the door and I thought I'd be waiting an hour. Not the case! The store representative was quick and efficient with each customer, including myself. He was friendly and helpful. I've never done returns before so he suggested packages and helped me print my label. I recommend this location for all of your shipping needs! read more

They charge a $5 pickup fee for having a package delivered here. Enough said. The Pakmail by DU, which also ships and receives UPS packages, doesn't do that and the staff is much nicer. Possibly not as relevant because it's not the same shipping company, but FedEx stores also don't charge. My point is that this is the only place to charge a pickup fee for having a package delivered to a secure location. I prefer to have packages delivered to a secure location instead of my apartment because I'm not there during the day to collect them, but I won't be having them delivered here ever again. Based on a cursory glance at other reviews, they obviously love nickel and diming customers. read more

Fast, very efficient. Young, male clerk taped up my box and sent it on it's way. Answered my questions.

I was a box holder here for five years. Just discontinued. Prices kept going up without notice, so first reason I canceled. They tell you one price, you go in to settle up and it has gone up without notice! And, past the balance of being worth it. Next, with home shipping, don't need an address for packages. A big factor is they are obviously not paying staff, quite a bit of turnover. So service is really, really slow. I have used them to ship as well as FedEx up the street. FedEx wins both in speed and customer service. Parking in this center is very challenging as people are pulling into the cake store and the candy store as well as the tutoring location. That would have nixed my keeping the box if nothing else was not up to expectation. read more

I usually don't like to leave poor reviews but the young girl working behind the counter was extremely rude. Now I cannot find the pre-labeled UPS package I left there. Did she even send it? I always have excellent service at the UPS store on South Broadway I'll never return to this one. I returned a Warby Parker frame package if I'm charged because of this I will definitely file a complaint. read more

I have been using this store for mail service for almost 3 years. It is a little far for me to go to and I pass 4 ups stores on the way and have visited the other stores but chose this one due to the service I receive and the great staff who always go out of their way for customers. They always call me when I receive anything that is cold or critical shipments and put it in the employee refrigerator to ensure it stays cold. I would highly recommend this as the UPS store to go to for all your needs. read more

December 12,2022, I took 2 packages to ship to my daughter for Christmas. The small pkg had a book, 2 dog toys that weighed very little and A Twix candy cane and an another Christmas candy. I was told that it was not guaranteed to arrive by Christmas by ground so it would cost approx $70 to make it by then. Meanwhile, I had a larger box that cost me $150 to to make it on time to the same address. Not only was I overcharged, the guy helping me couldn't have been less accommodating or friendly. Go to USPS or FedEx to ship your Christmas boxes. Don't get ripped off and be treated rudely at the same time! read more

Arrived here at exactly 6:30, closing time. The gal working there told me she had already shut everything down. I explained that I was delayed because Colorado Blvd. was blocked by some sort of construction and it took me 15 minutes to drive a few blocks. She replies, "Thanks for telling me. I'll go home a different way." Not only did she not offer to take my shipment, but she was so self-absorbed she thought I told her about the delay for HER benefit! I had anothet incident with this store last year. I needed to fax several pages. The guy didn't give me a price before doing it; afterwards he told me it was over $100. When I complained he cut it in half, still expensive. He should have told me the price up front so I could make a decision and charge the lower price from the beginning. Kudos to Mark at this UPS Store! I went in to check our non-profit's mailbox, pick up some packages, and deal with a key to our box that wasn't working well. I had a unique situation in which I paid for an item to be shipped and left the store. A few hours later, I realized I had been scammed and went back to UPS. Nelson was extremely helpful and dug through two bags of packages for me until he found my item. Not only did he cancel the transaction, I was able to get a full refund. Thank you so much Nelson! I went in to ship a package. One employee was busy assisting a customer, and the other was standing there. The employee assisting the other customer greeted me, then looked to his fellow employee, who now also acknowledged my presence. To say he was rude, short with me, sharp tongued, unpleasant, unhelpful, jerkish, uncooth, tactless, and just mean feels like an understatement, though is probably accurate. At one point the other employee looked at my employee, and then to me. He shrugged and frowned, as though he was right there with me. I have to say I've never been so wholly dissatisfied with an encounter with a representative of an organization. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

I shipped a package worth over 450$ via UPS. I was shipping this package from Denver to Atlanta. My package got halfway there and "disappeared". I called Hari the owner and his manager Isabelle several times. I was told to appeal my loss to UPS corporate and that UPS corporate would help me out. My total reimbursement for this package was 117$, naturally I was upset about my loss of over 300$ so I called the UPS corporate store to complain and file another appeal. They told me that Hari and Isabelle were actually in charge of my refund! I called Hari and Isabelle and they punted back to corporate. This whole process has taken three months of me writing letters, making calls, and in general getting slowly screwed over by this location. I would highly recommend shipping with someone else. Called this UPS store to see about having a package delivered there which required an adult signature (wine). I was told they would take any package deliveries for a $5 charge, which sounded reasonable. They called me yesterday when my package arrived and I went over to pick it up within an hour. They rang it up for $10 and when I told him I was told it was $5 he said "sure I can do $5". I asked him whether it was $5 or $10 and he said it depends on how long he has to keep the package. He then "accidentally" ran the card for $10 and offered to refund me $5. Looking at my credit card online I have been charged the $10 but have not been credited with the $5 yet. I'll be keeping an eye on it. Felt like a pretty shady place and not somewhere I would trust in the future. read more

Love this store! Always polite, always efficient and they offer me recycled boxes so that I don't have to purchase containers! Their prices are flexible depending on priority and speed. High maintenance customers are often acting out when I have been in the store, treating the staff rudely. I am pleased that they will not be patronizing this store. read more

Back on the 7th of October I had the to ship a package. Mark was the person behind the counter. I was having issues with shipping a box and the best he could do was tell me that he was a franchise and could not help me so to call customer service. He kept rushing me. As much as I understand franchisee limitations, he was absolutely worthless and unsympathetic. I am posting this over a month later because UPS has now charged me twice for a box that they never delivered. I just disputed this with my credit card since I have zero confidence in UPS at this point. read more

While helping a good friend downsize from his large penthouse condo to a smaller apartment in Denver, he "gifted" me a large, expensive piece of art that wouldn't fit at his new place. I live in Sarasota, FL so what to do? My friend knew of the UPS Store on Colorado Blvd. and I called. They couldn't have been nicer and said that packing such a large piece of valuable art was a normal service. Once there, they were very competent about how to best ship it, the insurance, and the approximate delivery date. Sure enough, it arrived at the projected time - ALL IN ONE PIECE!!! Yes, it did take a few minutes to unwrap the big box, but to have it arrive safely was worth the unpacking effort. As a bonus, I now have enough bubble wrap to mail Christmas and birthday gifts to my family in California for years!!! read more

Wow! This facility was hands down the WORST UPS facility that we have ever been to. The disheveled young man at the counter was unbelievably rude to us, while my wife and I overheard the other man working condescend to and interrupt the elderly patron in the store. Several times the man "assisting us" interrupted my wife to inform her that he had "NO idea" what she was asking him for. She was asking for the box sizes and prices to mail one of our items. I was charged 84 dollars to ship a package, which i thought was outrageous but that man at the counter assured me it was for sure the cheapest option, so i shipped it. The next day I took the EXACT SAME item to a fed ex store, and they charged me 16 dollars and 73 cents. DO NOT COME HERE. Usually going to a store to ship items they will use their knowledge to give you the best experience but not here. Find a different shipping solution. read more

I had to return a 10lb piece of defective electronic merchandise. UPS made it amazingly easy for me, slapped a little pouch on the side of my package designed to hold my RMA/shipping label, and I was out the door. Very convenient. Kudos, staff. :) read more

Fail. Twilight Zone. I went into the UPS Store at 1685 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, with a 9 lb box, containing professionally packaged, framed artwork I needed to ship UPS. The purchaser of the artwork provided me with her UPS account number to ship it to her. Me: Hi. I'd like to ship this. I'm using the recipient's UPS account number. Clerk: Umm no. I can only do that for my clients. Me: Your clients? What? Clerk: You'll have to go across the street to Vectra bank to get a Waybill and then bring it back. Me: I have to what? Clerk: It's a liability issue for us. Me: What? Isn't this the UPS store? Clerk: It's a liability. Me: What? I came to the UPS store to ship a Package via UPS. Clerk: {blank stare} I shook my head and walked out of the store. I went to the little dropbox outside the bank he specified, in lunch rush hour. The only forms that were there were Next Day Air, which on a 9 lb box would have been very expensive. I call the less-than-charming individual at the UPS store: Me: Hi, I was in your store a few minutes ago. I'm at Vectrabank drop off box. All they have here is next day air forms. Clerk: Yeah, that's all they have there. Me: This is getting absurd. How do I ship this box? Clerk: I don't know. Me: Listen, is there an place where I can ship my UPS package? Clerk: Yeah, it's at 53nd and something. Me: That's about 25 miles away. Clerk: yeah.... ...Click (So I went to Staples a few blocks away, and they had it done with no problems in about 2 minutes.) What the heck just happened? I felt like I entered the twilight zone in this store! The UPS store isn't allowed to keep UPS labels to ship UPS packages? If they don't ship UPS packages, what do they do? FAIL. read more

Due to my job, I have to ship heavy equipment out on a daily basis(60-70lb boxes). I go out of my way to come to this store, the staff is always friendly and helpful, they don't get upset when I've got 3-5 boxes I'm shipping out. The manager, Hari, is very friendly and interacts with the customers, his daughter is always friendly, helpful, and goes out of her way to make sure my transactions are smooth and efficient. So far my best experiences with UPS stores in the Denver area is at this location. read more

This place is terrible. I had a mailbox with them for a while before I cancelled because I no longer needed it. I went to pick up my remaining items, and they sent it all back to sender without any tracking, so I was left without my items or anyway to retrieve it. USPS told me it's not an official federal mailbox so they couldn't do anything. It's interesting that they didn't have my forwarding address considering it was required to sign up. I went into this location after I discovered that the one closest to my house didn't open until 8:30 am. This location opens at 8. Steven Santaella helped me out and was fabulous. I had three large packages with return shipping labels from the retailer. I was worried that using these labels would be a hassle. Steven got me right in and out with no hassle. He offered to let me use a dolly to get the packages in from the car. He was very friendly and made it a great experience. read more

I stopped in on my way to work with two items that I needed to return to Amazon. Neither was completely ready to go (needed tape, labeling, etc.). The staff was super nice, took care of everything and had me out of there is under 5 minutes! I will definitely go here again when I need to ship anything. read more

Terrible experience. I will not be coming back to this location. First, Christmas is coming so the clerk could be temporary help added for the holidays. I went to ship a couple packages that were not Christmas gifts, so I made it clear that there was no reason for expedited shipping, cheapest is best. The clerk couldn't get the names or addresses entered correctly, even when I showed her a printout of the addresses. The worst part is that she kept trying to upsell their services and finally said that one of our small boxes was "unacceptable" and that I needed to buy one of their boxes ($3.96) to put it into. Then another $3.47 charge showed up on top of the $10.92 for the actual shipping. WTF? To paraphrase her explanation "Oh, that's the service fee". The second box was medium sized and about 2lbs - they wanted almost $35 to ship about $20 of junk. Bottomline: The post office had a long line, but it took less time to get it done there... And for less than half the price. read more

Zach and another gentleman helped me work out how to best ship a heavy trunk and a enormous duffle to a summer camp in Tennessee, the trunk needing a custom box. I priced the same stuff with a competitor down the street but UPS had the best price, even with insurance added. It's expensive stuff to ship, no doubt. I appreciated their service. I felt like they gave me the attention I needed while handling calls as well. I'd recommend using them, say hey to Zach for me. Convenient location. read more
