Obviously we should have insured it. But I must say that 1) It was the attendant who packed up the item for my daughter and 2) the attendant did not ask my daughter whether she wanted to insure the package, a reminding prompt for insurance that other stores do. The people at this store were apparently nice to her and helped file a claim. But the foul-up of this UPS service is shocking, and equally shocking is that they would not make their incompetence right beyond the standard $100. Think twice before you entrust valuables to UPS, whether they are insured or not.
