Veronica is SO lazy! Pretty sure they are charging companies for shipment when they're not shipping anything. I took a small box in and had a scan code that was prepaid. After she scans it she decides to tell me that I need another box as she can't ship it in the box it was in. So I told her I would get my own box. Two days later I go to a diff UPS store and they tell me that THIS store processed my label so I can't use it anymore??! The UPS rep told me that this ups store needs to go into the system on the date I went in and use the last 4 of the tracking and cancel the transaction. I called this store whilst in the other UPS and Veronica answers telling me to call 3 hrs later when a manager comes in. I asked why she couldn't do it? She's says she doesn't know how...so I tell her how. She responds with 'we have 8 diff systems' I don't know which one. Really need to work on their customer service. I understand the service industry is not always fun, but your job is to scan barcodes, take packages, and ship stuff. ANDRES decided to yell at me in the store... (yes, Andres, I told the employee scanning the barcode on my phone, "hold on I will get you the package" {as it was heavy and on the floor} and when he rudely asks me, "where is the package" and I respond, "I told you I am getting it for you"), you do NOT yell at me from across the store. I even asked to speak with Andres on the side to clear the air and his response was beyond ridiculous and condescending. I told him to review the camera so he could see what happened. Until that owner of this store, who, by the way, didn't bother to call me back, decides to step in and do some training, I would advise you avoid this location at all costs. Not worth the attitude. Even though those amazon returns only pay around $1 each, that money sure does add up. Have been to the store on Richmond Highway a few times and always had great service. The last two times including today's visit was a disappointment. The woman working was very rude and lazy. She wouldn't touch my package and had me got my own pen and put it on the scale myself not wanting to handle the package and then asked me to put my pen back in the holder on opposite counter. Not sure why you just responded to my one star review seven years later. But I find it extremely telling that Lauren T and Pete V have the exact same five star review verbatim of your UPS Store. While I am not certain, it seems likely you asked people to pad your reviews because your previous customers all hate you. I remember how much of a nasty individual you were seven years ago. My review was 100% truthful and forthcoming. I did nothing more than clutch my package while waiting in line. You treated me like garbage in an exasperated voice to put it on the scale. That kind of vitriol is why people don't like you. It was a horrible idea to respond to my review now with a trite "We appreciate your business!" I needed to send an important letter/gift to a friend who is about to be deployed soon. I tried the post office, but they were closed at 5 pm. I tried a 2nd location, but it was closed. I was desperate and noticed this UPS store closed later in the evening. I don't know this part of Alexandria at all and got lost per an older gps system. The staff member at the store talked to me and guided me to the store location. Once I got to the store, he took care of my transaction really quickly. He made my night telling me that I had plenty of stamps on the letter. I didn't have to put any more postage on the envelope. Everything was all set to send the letter off, and I was quite relieved. Dear Sir, Had the associate been willing to scan my code, none of this would have happened. I walked in your place of business and that is exactly what I asked her to do, which my code prominent on my phone, to scan my code. She sad she didn't know how to locate the confirmed receipt and would NOT scan my code. It doesn't make much sense that I would drive there, refuse to let her scan the code and then come home, call and ask you to scan it??? I also asked her to call someone who could talk her through the process, while I was in the store. She told me she had already tried calling for help twice that morning and had gotten no answer. She did kindly look in the boxes there and see the returned item was not still in the store. When I called back to the store, you yourself told me she was not trained to look up prior returns. The only thing saving this store is location, the service is always difficult. There's always a need from the employees to find a way to say "no" and try to sell additional items from the store. I walked in at 2:48pm with 5 small, immaculately wrapped returns for Amazon, only needing a scan. No one was there but the three employees. An employee, I've seen before walked up fast and fidgety (I know his name - refraining) and says, "I'm going to use this computer but if it shuts down at 3PM, I'm going to leave." I did not respond. When I didn't respond, a second employee walks up (not looking at me and in a tone) says, "we ask you to be mindful of the time we close." It was 2:48PM when I arrived. They close at 3PM. They were Amazon scans. What has happened to having a modicum of niceness to a guest? 2 stars because... I don't know why. I guess I'm too nice.. (After their attempt to write a response, I've now reviewed this at 1 star.) On 12/27/21, the store wrote a response you will see below. Had to return an oversize item to Amazon. Set it up on Amazon website and, in effect, paid a extra fee for UPS to pick it up. This was 6 days ago. UPS came by to leave a shipping label stuck on the front door but did not pick up the package. They would not/do not answer their phones or e-mails so I had to call Amazon directly. The Amazon guy was great (as Amazon always is) and said they would take care of it with UPS. My own limited experience has always been that FedEx is better. read more

(3$ at home depot) jason told me that the box was 6x6x48 but the out side of the box is 7". cardboard is not 1" thick. no military discount for veterans. my measurements were 6.1 on the measuring tape but he has to enter 7 because his boss would get mad. I am a regular at the UPS store and know Ed Reid (the owner) since 2001 -- when he opened his store. He and his crew are always courteous, very professional and there to help. Over the years I used all his services. He goes the extra mile when it comes to customer service -- an example: he personally calls me at closing time and informs me about an error on my UPS label on my box. My customer needed the contents of the box the next morning or it would have stopped production. But no, Ed held the UPS driver and extra 5 minutes until I got there and addressed the error and off it went. It would have cost me a lot of money to fix it after the fact. Thanks! read more

Went in there twice this week for faxing documents for a new job. Dealt with a young, heavy- set girl behind the counter. No customer service skills! Asked for a cover letter for my faxes and basically tossed it to me without any eye contact or "here you are sir". My second time there the fax didn't go through and had to scan my documents. Gave me quick unenthused instructions and walked away without seeing if I needed help or understood how to log into my account and find the attachment to send. Based on the advice from the local UPS depot, I had an order that was previously lost by UPS shipped new and routed to the local UPS store. The owner of this store denied acceptance of the package, and when calling him he stated it was because it did not have a phone number to contact me or the proper "UPS My Choice" sticker notating the rerouting. His first impulse was to be rude and tell me that I did not understand how many packages he has to turn away because he has no means of contacting the people they're meant to go to. I've been a regular customer of this shop, and had previously found it to be quite friendly. This experience was a surprise. To his credit, he called the local truck and had the package redelivered to the store, and called me to come pick up the package. In opposition to his original complaint, the package had my phone number on it in large, bold, black print and it had the big "UPS My Choice" sticker on it. As a business owner, I've found it be beneficial to not take out my personal frustrations on new clients. The owner acted with irrational anger, and he represented himself as unprofessional and sloppy. My business is going elsewhere now. Rude salesperson. The interior gates were up. It was 8:57. They open at 9:00. I went to the door, I found it locked. Okay, I'll wait. Then is saw the girl walking from her car. I SWEAR TO GOD, she slowed down and walked at a snails pace, just to make me wait. She made a point of telling me, "We don't open until 9." When I worked in retail, if my team was ready to go and there was someone waiting outside at 10 minutes before official opening time, we would welcome them in. From the reviews I read here, it sounds like the manager is just as bad. The example he sets for his staff is quite evident. I'll go to the Staples up the road from now on. I went into the store today to send out to envelopes via overnight delivery. I made a mistake on the first sheet and went to fill out a new one and the clerk became super upset and told me to just scratch out the mistake because the forms cost money. I explained to her that I needed it for a business record and could not have scratch outs, and she said "those cost money. We do not allow people to get a second one. IF you're not going to use it, I'll just scratch it out for another person to use! These forms are not cheap." I was so turned off by her lack of customer service skills.
