I frequent this salon approximately three-four times a year. It is clean and orderly. The owner, depending on her mood, will either chat or be mum and business-like. Either way, she does a great job and is swift and meticulous. I usually just walk-in and write my name in the notebook set on the counter. Depending on how many are waiting before me, I can either get out in 20 minutes or spend an hour. But that is the price you pay without an appointment. read more

Don't come here they will mess up your hair. Not only did my hair come out butchered but also my daughters

On 1/17/23, I brought my daughter here to get a straight across hair cut. She had about 3 to 4 inches of dead hair that needed to be taken off . The girl butchered her hair and now she is so traumatized she won't let anyone cut her hair now. Please be wary of this place when they can't even trim dead ends off . read more

There was a sign outside that said no entrance without masks and the first thing I see was a male getting a haircut without a mask on which was disappointing. I ended up staying as he was leaving and the hair cut stylist did a great job on my hair I did like it. Her work station however was very unorganized and could have been a lot more sanitized so it was disappointing to see they were not taking extra precautions due to pandemic. read more

These ladies are the hair goddesses of the southwest. Men usually go to a male barber because they don't trust a woman with clippers. I'd let these ladies cut my hair blindfolded. they are that good. When you first walk in you get this 90's nostalgia salon vibe. Write your name down and take a seat. The most i have waited when there were full chairs was 15min. You can also call in ahead of time for availability questions or make an appointment. You can show picture or guide her through what you want. Either of these ladies will not fail you. If you want a lineup/edge up you must ask for the Head Queen herself, Maria. Like i said $15 for a life changing cut literally from love and skill; can't be beat. My girl Rosie there always got me right, I will probably never go to a different barber. The Cut: I usually have an undercut. Kept about 3/4 of hair on top and had the sides and back of head shaved. 2guard faded down to zero on sides. read more

My brother always got his hair cut (by Blanca) here for years, and I never gotten my hair cut professionally in like 7 years. In August, I decided to change up my hair and chop it all off. When I told the lady that, she was scared because she thought I was talking pixie cut LOL. The staff was friendly, clean envoirnment, and always cut my hair the way I want it. I'm growing my hair out now, so they know exactly how to cut it when I'm there for a trim. read more

There's very few times I get upset about a store or hair place or experience where I wish I didn't have to pay. I did not like how the woman who cut my hair did it, in which she began to quickly and ruffly go through the sides of my hair with the wrong size I asked for to be cut followed by cutting my bangs twice as short as the top as if I had asked for a shorter length on my bangs. Now I've been told it doesn't look bad however this isn't what I asked for, there was more detail done to thinning my hair than my sides on being cut to length of my request, parts that feel unevenly done, then felt rushed when asked how I liked it and upon saying my bangs were cut short cut off as I was trying to it's fine with,"then let's go pay" which thankfully when I did pay 15 dollars for a hair cut isn't bad but when I can't stand the poor job she did, I wanted to have my hair returned to being attached to my head and deal with the mess of the hair I had then pay them. Plus having her pull my hair all the way back as she can with more gel then I used before the hair cut was aggravating to say the least. So in short, if you want a quick cut with very little cut to begin with go for it you'll save yourself a few dollars. If you want some quality to your hair cut, not here unless you can only afford 15. I do not like writing online reviews for I feel they are piety and only help a small few but I'm truly upset at not getting what I had asked for. And I'm sure outside of the salon or just as human beings they're probably great people but they did a poor job on me and it's frustrating to no end. Side note if you're cutting hair and your phone rings don't pick it up and talk on it while cutting anyone's hair. If a phone rings and you have to answer stop cutting hair and answer it. If it's the store's phone let someone who isn't busy answer otherwise you answer it and tell your client I have to get it really quick and apologize as you answer it. read more

I've been looking for a stylist that can cut short styles, mainly a pixie. I went to The Upper Cut & had the great luck to be seated at Maria Zavala's station. I walked in around lunch time & was seated immediately. She took the time to look at the photos of the cut I wanted & asked specific questions about how I wanted the back, around the ears, etc. I am EXTREMELY happy with my hair style! I found my new stylist! I'll definitely come back to her. She has been there for a few months. She worked at The Mod Hatter for 6 years previously before they closed. I'm very happy with the total experience. They are very reasonable and the cut is much better than cuts I've had from high priced salons. Definitely recommend. Ask for Maria Zavala! read more

Maria and her crew are awesome! I've been going there for over 14 years! Price for a men's haircut is only $15 and she they do fantastic work! Personally I think I should be getting a discount since I have lost most my hair but Maria makes me look handsome by the time I walk out of there. :-) The Upper Cut RULES! read more

Haircuts are great, but the environment is depressing! The ladies look so unfriendly, they have no expression!!! So sad!

BAD SERVICE Lady who was cutting my boyfriend's hair couldn't carry on a conversation. She just kept shrugging her shoulders like she didn't want to be their. She left hair all over his face. Its all un-even and when he asked her to fix it she acted like she fixed it.. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE NEVER EVER GOING BACK waste of my money!! read more

Upon entering I found two employees sitting down with no customers in the shop. They looked up inquisitively and I mentioned that I would like a haircut. With that they both got up and headed to the back with one of them stating that someone would be with me shortly. At that point I was alone with the two employees out of sight somewhere in the back. I could hear talking in the back of the shop but no one came out to cut my hair. After waiting alone for a good while, I left. read more
