Clothing was color sorted within each clothing category. Non-clothing items were well-displayed and easy to browse. Prices were the best I have ever seen in a Goodwill anywhere near where I live (Western New York). I found a couple of "exactly-what-I-was-looking-for" items. And several good books. Next time I visit family in Huntersville, a trip to this Goodwill is already on my to-do list.

Unfair Treatment of Customers and Preferential Access for Resellers…read more This Goodwill location has become a frustrating shopping experience for ordinary customers. Resellers congregate around the donation bay doors, watching incoming donations and sometimes alerting employees when desirable items arrive. When bins are rolled out, they hover over them and position themselves near the shelves where they expect valuable merchandise to be placed. Employees often seem to put items exactly where these resellers are waiting, giving them a clear advantage over regular shoppers. Customers are not allowed to remove merchandise directly from the bins; employees must first place items on the sales floor. I understand and follow this policy. During a recent visit, I picked up an item briefly to inspect it, then returned it to the bin and waited for an employee to put it on the shelf. The employee witnessed this but took the item back into the storage area instead, making it unavailable for purchase. He said absolutely nothing to me. I was embarrassed, frustrated, and frankly stunned. I had not attempted to buy the item from the bin or violated the store's policy. I simply inspected it, returned it, and waited like everyone else. Why remove it from sale altogether rather than make it available to customers? The entire process feels unfair and raises serious questions about how merchandise is handled and who gets access to it. Goodwill serves the community, not just resellers. Management needs to address this environment and ensure that ordinary shoppers have a fair opportunity to purchase donated merchandise.
