Last year, we needed a couple more shelves to match, so we decided (against our better judgement) to order them from E. Braun Farm Tables in spite of our previous experience. We ordered two 2x12x48" shevles and 4 iron J-brackets on August 24, 2024. The products were extremely over-priced at $500+, but we decided to go ahead to ensure they matched the ones we bought several years ago. At the time of the purchase, I was told the turn around time was about 10 weeks. I asked "10 weeks for something that should take a week at most to deliver!?" I was told it could be shorter, but they didn't want to disappoint in case it took that long. It is now 22 weeks later and the order has still not been completely delivered. I called a number of times after 10 weeks and was told once "after Thanksgiving." Most of my calls went unanswered and my messages were not returned. The shelves were finally delivered to my house on December 23, 2024 (17 weeks). They also tried to pass off lower quality brackets which did not fit, rather than the J-brackets I ordered which are on display. I returned the next day on Christmas Eve and was told that they didn't have my brackets and they would get them to me after after Christmas. No apology was given for trying to pass of the inferior product. During the first week of January 2025, I was called and told that the brackets were in. I went to the store on January 16, 2025 at 9:00 AM and nobody was there. I waited until 10:30, and still no-one showed up. While waiting, I called the store phone number a couple of times to see if anyone was coming in. No one ever showed up and I left. Since then I've called E. Braun Farm Tables several times and left messages asking when they would be open so I could pick up the brackets. The store is about 30 miles from my home. I have not received a call-back since. Their answering machine says they open at 9:00 AM Tuesday thru Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday. Their website says they open at 9:30 AM Tuesday thru Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday. I will show up again today after 10:00 AM to see if I can pick up my brackets. Wish me luck. I will not give them my business in the future.

I will say they were very responsive and helpful when we called or emailed, they have a great selection. I'm not impressed with some of quality for what we paid. They don't seem to be built like some of the other Amish made poly furniture we shopped at other poly suppliers and as you can see what was ordered vs what was shipped in nowhere near the same product. Beware of bait and switch tactics. They probably had this chair sitting around and made, looking to get rid of them and just engraved this one. There is a dozen or more pictures of these chairs in the description and not one looks like this that was shipped to me.

What we really liked was being free to stroll through the store and look at kitchen chairs without being swarmed upon by salespeople. We detest the swarm of locusts approach that happens inside some furniture stores as soon as your big toe crosses the threshold. Not here. One very cool thing we saw and came THISCLOSE to buying was a nice kitchen chair that was tagged for $5. The tag also said "Wobbly Chair" and indeed it had some issues with the differing length of one leg, causing it to wobble! Had we identified a need to put a single chair somewhere in our house, that $5 wobbly chair would have lovingly rode the 270 miles back to Connecticut with us.

One of them the original is now closed up. It is just up the street from kings Homestead and sits on a corner property. This was the original wood shop where you could see the Mennonite carpenters. I say this because the saw equipment was electrified. Either way, they used to produce some very beautiful pieces out of that shop. The kings Homestead is very nice, but there is a lot more made from China offerings in home decor than there used to be. Don't get me wrong they do have a very nice selection of Amish made furniture. However, their prices have gone up significantly and they are no longer leaving you with the feeling that you've really gotten quite a piece for the price I mean you are getting solid real wood, but it is at a premium. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. My wife and I drove out from Pittsburgh to visit a number of vendor's showrooms. We'd already…read morespent time in Amish areas of Ohio. While various vendors (including online order sites ) do sell items made by the same shops, we value and want to reward (so to speak) the showrooms that educate, help customize, and allow one to see/feel/touch items of interest or similar-enough, in any case. Caleb was our primary point of contact to order two highly customized chairs, a custom keystone table to go between them, and one ottoman. One of the customizations was one I could find on no website anywhere for the manufacturer we had chosen. Caleb contacted them and navigated all our demanding requests with patience and cheer and, generally, in a reasonable time frame (we were erratic on our end a bit, too -- give and take). Our estimate was 2-4 months and we were called exactly at 3months. They held the items for several days until I could drive out, helped load things up, and just happened to have some fresh sweet rolls to share! (I loved that the kids were selling some 3D printed parts they designed in a CAD package just inside the store.) I trusted they had checked everything over and belive they had -- We got home and found everything to be absolutely perfect. Beautiful select+ grade QSWO, well-selected, constructed, and finished. $5200 for two chairs, the table, and an ottoman actually seems fair given the quality. These are our first non-IKEA or hand-me-down furniture items and we are proud to own them. We will be buying a new dining table and chairs from them in the future, no doubt. One note: My wife and I had forgotten her reclining chair had an internal lever that is sorta' hidden by the cushion AND also needed to figure out how the backs slid and clicked into place. While I'm a handy engineer and this was easy enough, I could imagine some folks might have benefitted from a little instruction. Perhaps that was not given as Caleb personalizes service, I dunno. As per another's recent trouble here on yelp, there is only so much any vendor can do with long lead times from Amish workshop partners. Given my initial experiences and interactions, I can can't imagine they would do anything but follow the Golden Rule in helping reasonable customers.
