Add them to your list the next time you're looking for furniture! Here's why...Shopping at any store (for anything) is only as good as the Customer Service. The first thing that's noticeable is "Mom & Pop" atmosphere, but not in appearance. No its in the greeting, the welcome, the smile, the helpfulness, the patience, etc.etc.etc! The thing we appreciate about shopping Yorktowne is they allow you to explore without rushing you OR without feeling as though you're being pounced on before you're barely in the door. The point is, they have it all. Not only when it comes to Customer Service but also their furniture. They have many different styles and different levels of quality and price ranges. We love that the store is still family oriented upholding the kindness of original store atmosphere which has been in the community for many many years. Jess, her Husband and Son are incredibly kind and helpful! Thank you for making our purchase a pleasure and for being patient as we were trying to make our decision. You're all amazing, and it was the best experience we've had in Customer Service for some time. If that isn't enough, when we called to make a time for delivery, I had the most amazing and fun conversation with a lovely woman (we haven't met yet) as we talked and made a date for delivery. She's a great addition to your team, I appreciated her fun loving personality, she's perfect! AND--we certainly will not forget the young men who made the delivery just as pleasant as the first step in the store. They were very personable and friendly, so thank you guys for closing our experience with your pleasant and professional service! "Rare" is an excellent word (in this day and age) to describe our experience at Yorktowne Furniture, Co. We can't say enough good things, can you tell? We love our Sofa!!! Terry & Vicki K

And not out of particle board like at most furniture shops! This stuff is the real deal. The kind of stuff you'd hand down to your kids. We got a really cool tour of the place by the owner, Tom and he was really friendly. No pressure either, which I love. Plus, everything is like custom made- I mean, you don't have to worry about your neighbor having the same stuff. It really is quality and timeless! Yeah, good word -timeless. So, if you're in the market for something really nice for your home or even office- I would definetly check them out before buying anywhere else first. Honest. They also sell small accessories and stuff if your budget is tight, but once you go, you'll want to come back and buy something. Tables, chairs, sideboards, beds - all sorts of hand-crafted- not gaudy at all!! All with solid wood. No plastic crap. Plus, like I said, everything is made by them!! Right there- in America! :) So, all this talk about buying american, well here's your chance. All those chain stores stuff is probably made in China. (not against china, but come on people... buy american) So, check them out before laying out some bucks for furniture for your home. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so keep that in mind.

The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.
