We stayed here early November. Each unit is owned by an individual and managed by the office; we stayed in unit 102 and it was perfect. Exceptionally well- kept and clean, nearly every amenities you'd need while at the beach. The unit is dog friendly, but looking at it you wouldn't know. No smell of animals or mess at all. Upon check in, they even gave us a little beach towel for the dog and a bone, which was a very nice touch. Everything about this stay was positive and wonderful! The reservations were seamless, we arrived after the office closed so they set up a lock box for us. The room was perfect, it was waiting for us with the fire place running and the bed turned down...very welcoming! I had an issue with the coffee pot in the morning (the hard filter was missing, previous guest must've thrown it out) and I mentioned to someone outside (on my way back from Starbucks) about the issue and 20 minutes later (30 minutes before the office opened) the office gal showed up at my door! She saw the problem and opened the office early for me so that I can make coffee, as soon as housekeeping arrived they came to my room with a new pot! The staff was wonderful, the amenities were perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return. read more

I would def. come back here. I love the peacefulness you get and also the room is nice and cozy. The service here is wonderful as well. For a great rate, you get a studio with everything you need to stay inside when it is misting outside. You can sit next to the window and just glance out there for hours at a time. Also they provide you with old dvds and vhs movies along with scrabble. Thinking back.. I really wish I was there now. The boardwalk/downtown area is all walking distance and it is a beautiful and peaceful walk around the neighborhood. Lastly, it is all short driving distance to safeway, kfc, the small outlet, and cannon beach. read more

Great location + price + thoughtful little touches gets the tradewinds a 5 star review. When we were looking for suites at seaside, pretty much everything was well over 200$ a night even for mid week stay, we found the tradewinds at 139$ and quickly took that deal! Great location on the Prom, many places to shop or eat within a half-mile walk. Also beach access was just outside the condos, great location at the end of the prom, our beach was filled with very few people as most of the people were down where most of the hotels were. Great touches by management include a bottle of sparkling cider with two glasses, a vase with fresh flowers and a special surprise for our son (coloring book, treasure map, goodie bag with candy and sand dollar). We loved that we could get a suite for under 150$ in Seaside. read more

Nifty place with considerable amenities like a kitchenette (good for testing the smoke detector) and "fireplace," a comfy bed and a shoreline view! The front desk closes at 8 pm here, so don't get locked out! The proprietors are friendly and stay very close by, in units facing the rooms as I found out, so maybe you could wake them up and ask for help. So yes, I did wake them up, but not on purpose. We came back to the room from the shore at the inhumane hour of 2 AM and were talking, just talking, not going WOOOO in the night, not in a heated debate about whether Han shot first, talking, apparently loud enough to get the stink-eye from one bleary-eyed proprietor (cool phrase huh!). We're a bit younger than their typical clientele, but not raising a ruckus so I could have done without the grudgeful stares! Maybe I'd stay here again, but I wouldn't want to cause anymore lost sleep. read more

The staff could not be any more friendly or wonderful! We stayed 3 nights in September (after Labor day on a weekend) and were so very delighted with this place! The location is the BEST in Seaside. There are LOTS of hotels here and MOST of them are crowded together in the center of town where hundreds and hundreds of tourists crowded onto a tiny section of beach - at least half a mile away from Tradewinds. Our end of the beach had a GLORIOUS view and was very quiet compared to the crowds just south of us. It was amazing, like having a private beach! My sweetheart had his birthday during our stay and the staff left him a card and goodie sack filled with treats! I thought that was a really lovely touch. We were delighted with our tiny room. Beautifully appointed in seaside decor, the bed is COMFORTABLE, and the view of Tillamook Rock (with lighthouse when not obscured with fog) is stunning. I had an amazing and relaxing experience. My studio was as expected if not better. I had everything I needed. Brought my pup with me. Plenty of potty space (beach is right across the street). House keeping is super friendly. Front office is very nice and helpful. They live on site and are open from 9 to 7 which is awesome. Very available. A comfy and quaint motel on the coast, the rooms are small but well appointed. I assume these are condos and each room is a little different. You can go online and see each room, we chose 202. It is on the second floor and had a sweeping view of the beach. The coast line is about 500 yards from the hotel so beach front is a bit of a stretch. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. i felt the pricing was excellent, but I am comparing to the east coast where things on the beach are brutally expensive. One of our better meals on the trip was cooked by me on the small albeit efficient stove. We dined on local salmon with a sauce of oyster mushrooms razor clams and ginger, panko crusted razor clams and some wild mushrooms. We listened to the waves crashing on the beach, then we carried some IPA's down for a night cap. I found the manager to be pleasant yet stern, they run a tight ship at the Tradewinds motel. read more

I wanted to get away for my birthday and bring some friends and had done some research on where to stay in Seaside. I love the area and all the cute little shops and found Tradewinds!!! Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted with warmth and a welcome! The staff was so friendly the entire time we were there and it was just such an amazing experience, I decided to book an extra day for all of us! Judy is the property manager and might I add that she is such a pleasure to talk to and deal with. Michael, her husband, was especially helpful on the "what to do" while in town thing and also with an inquiry about our vehicle (long story)! Now...........for the condo!! We stayed in #207, hardwood floors, two bedrooms, flatscreen TV, and all the home touches you'd hope to find when getting a "home away from home." We had everything we needed and honestly didn't use half of the stuff that we thought we needed like cooking supplies and blankets. They even have dressers in each of the bedrooms where you can unpack and put away, JUST as if you were home. One of the best things about this location, other than the amazing staff (including Maria the housekeeper), is the fact.......that the beach is 50 short feet away from the ocean and a half mile from the Boardwalk. It was like a dream and it was difficult for my friends and I to honestly say goodbye! We wished we were millionaires and didn't have responsibilities so we can stay for......God knows how long! They gave us free passes to hot tubs and therapy pools and upon asking what restaurants were amazing!!!! My friends and I were all so very pleased at everything: the supplies were more than enough, the furniture was brand new, sleeping arrangements were not inconvenient or difficult to arrange. If you're looking for a great location with great perks, I would highly HIGHLY recommend you check out Tradewinds at SeaSide. NIce place. It was really nice to be on the north side of the Prom...waaay north. The place does not look impressive from the outside but hey, you are at the coast! Inside is what matters and once inside its very cozy. Best part is it feels more like a B&B at a decent price without the dodgy breakfast. It also has excellent access to the beach! Thats a big plus to me. My only miff is that I requested room #103 and was given #101 "thats what the guy who booked your room wrote down" Well shame on that guy then, I asked specifically for #103. I know this may be small potatoes to you but why ask me which room I would like to have if you don't plan to give it to me? Being the ball of butter that I am I caved only because #103 was not ready for me. Overall it was a small blip on the chart and it won't stop me from coming back. I wish I could have said the same about the restuarants in Seaside. Yuck! read more

Very close to the beach, pet friendly, clean, beautiful room, and awesome view. The building is a bit old looking when you pull up, but we where quickly amazed at our room. Only downfall is the parking is horrible. Both nights we stayed, there was no parking available to us when we came back from our day adventures. What's good? Nice staff. Kid friendly. The rooms have puzzles and board games. WOW!!! Enough of a reason to book this place? Heck no. On AirBnB this picture looks like the Ocean is at your fingertips. Total BS and you have to hike a 1/2 mile to shore. Do you love ants? I do too, when I'm watching National Geographic. Crawling on the bathtub, bathroom floor, and on kitchen sinks is not a good thing. I know from experience it take $150 every 3 months to keep them away and they charge this every night for months...so why be cheapskates about it? I set some of my Advil out on the counter and a bit later ants were all over the pills feasting on the sugar coating. Yuck. This came up in AirBnB when we filtered it for finding places with hot tubs. This place does NOT have a hot tub. They claim to have a swimming pool nearby, within a mile. When we got there at check in time...3pm...we were given a pamphlet about the community center where the swimming pool is. Guess what...open swim is 1pm to 3pm. Sure, you get one more time at 7pm for an hour but that was not what we were hoping. We have a five year old and we eat dinner. Instead of dinner and bed we are suppose to swim and then, I guess, risk swimming cramps. The kitchens are tiny...as in next to no counter space and a tiny stove, like what the Munchkins would use in the land of Oz. The kitchen faucet drips continuously. The walls were paper thin so we could hear the kids above and beside us jaw-jackin away the nights. I'm glad it wasn't someone's honeymoon. The sprinklers came on and we could not hear the Ocean. Of course, its so far away anyway it may not have mattered. Who wants an open window for fresh air at night when there is a TICK TICK TICK TICK of a sprinkler system right outside the window as the sun is setting? Their Wi-Fi sucked and could not even stream Xfinity or Netflix for a movie on a device for our family. This alone should be enough to dismiss this as a good place. read more

What a great location! My husband and I stayed at the Tradewinds in #201 for 2 nights. On check-in, the manager, Judy was super friendly, letting us know of her favorite restaurants and the best ways to get around town both by car and by foot. The parking lot is small, be prepared to back out of the space when you leave, so if that is not your forte have someone else drive! Our room was perfect! It was really cozy with a full view of the beach. It was decorated really cute with a sea theme, as a room on the coast should be. It had a little kitchenette that we barely used for more than keeping our wine and beer cold but if you want to cook up a little something there are means to do so! The only complaint I have is something that happens all the time when my husband and I travel - we're both fairly tall and the shower is meant for people shorter than us. Not really a huge deal since we're used to it. Besides, the sound of the ocean immediately outside the window and the promenade to walk to the center of town across the parking lot more than makes up for it. read more

My dog Parker and I are on a road trip from San Diego to Seattle area and back. We arrived at the Tradewinds condo #201 yesterday and immediately feel in love! From reading the guest book and talking with people here, this is the best condo at The Tradewinds and I am grateful I stumbled upon it when searching for pet friendly vacation rentals in the area. I have hope to find a job and return to Seaside to live, but if that doesn't work out I will for sure return to Seaside Tradewinds unit #201 for a peaceful getaway. I am on my 2nd night here now and am thankful I have two more nights booked. The attention to detail with the beach themed decoration of the place is the first thing I noticed, and the oceanfront view the second. The studio is bright, clean and has a very homey feel. Kathy and Jim, where did you get the bedspread? I want one of my own. :) I had thought I would be eating most of my meals out, but the kitchen is so feel equipped, I went to Safeway the first night for groceries. I have been enjoying the view, the beach, and the TV very much. I wish I had more time to read the many books in the condo. Jim, the owner was exceptionally quick to respond to my inquiry and questions before booking. When I pulled up I was at first disappointed with the appearance of the outside of the Tradewinds, but all my disappointment was dismissed as soon as I checked in. The managers Judy and Michael are friendly, helpful and treat everybody like old friends. The internet in my room wasn't working the first night and when I went to the office this morning for help, Michael and Judy looked into it, until they got me online. I use Yelp and Tripadvisor as a guide a lot when traveling. From Yelp reviews I have eaten at Angelina's Pizzeria & Cafe and Seaside Brewing Co. I enjoyed both and would return. All in all, my stay has been wonderful and I would highly recommend this condo for 1-2 people and a four legged friend. From other reviews here I see some condo's have more space, which would be a better fit if traveling with more than two people. read more

Wow what a treat. We stopped at SeaSide and on a whim decided to stay for the night. I choose Tradewinds based on the yelp ratings and we were not at all let down. By far the best place I have stayed in a long time. Fully stocked kitchenette with coffee and tea, a small stove and sink and all the extras one needed to dine in. It's also just off the main drag so less crowds but still has amazing ocean views. We could have paid more to be at one of the behemoths right on the beach but this was an amazing find. We also came in winter and the rates were a steal. I will be back here. read more

My husband and I were looking for a nice place to stay for our anniversary. We were not disappointed! We stayed in 203 and we were greeted with a chilled bottle of sparkling cider, flowers & a Happy Anniversary card. I very nice touch! These units are not new, but well taken care of, very clean and they add little touches to make it feel special. Our bed was a queen memory foam and was it comfy. The kitchenette was well stocked included coffee (a big plus for me). It's big window has an awesome view of the beach & ocean. Made for awesome sunsets! It's on the north end of the prom and is very quiet. The management were very warm & friendly. They made a suggestion of restaurants which were helpful & correct! We will be back! read more

I've been enjoying staying at The Trade winds for around 20 years. So, even though they remodeled years ago I still remember their dingier days. I love how each room is decorated differently and each comfy in their own way. The latest management is super accommodating and friendly. Right on the beach, but down from the hustle and bustle of Broadway. My family is from Seaside and I was born there. Lots has changed since then and not all of it for the better. Hello: we would like to thank you again for letting us stay in your home rm#103 for the weekend of the 4th of July. Everything about this room is amazing and we will never ever stay anywhere else. We are going back down for 7 nights I think for the 2015 volleyball tournament. We would like to ask if you have thought about the king sized bed that we had left you a comment about last year when we were there. It's just very hard to sleep in such a small bed. We will still stay here just would be nice after working our butts off all year to be able to sleep comfortable and not sandwiched together. We love it and I personally have told and still are telling many of my customers at my work about your home. I do know that some of them have stayed there. Might want to think about doing something for your repeat customers like stay 4 nights and get 1 night free or stay three separate times and get 1 night free. They've lost their prior management team of Mike & Judy, the complex has changed to booking each individual condo through each owner with Airbnb (which includes a separate booking fee), and it seems as though they are not as involved as prior management. want a getaway that is in seaside, but not IN seaside? then this is perfect. it is located at the very north end and its perfect for its seclusion and proximity to town. Lets face it, restaurants are nice but when they are targeted at tourists ugh. so the kitchen comes in handy for a quick breakfast or simple dinner that you don't have to pay through your nose for. Now I will say they are not a 5 star hotel with valets and 1000ct thread sheets. It feels more like walking into someones apartment that they are having you watch while they are away. as it turns out that is pretty much what you are doing. Each "unit" is individually owned and that is reflected in each of them. Most owners have taken the time to remodel and keep their space lovely with updated kitchens(some are full!), furniture, linens, decor. Some even have movies, books and games to keep you occupied when staring at sand has you bored. On their site they have tons of pictures of each unit so you can make a informed decision. my favorite part is they show the availability of all the units. so it really helps to plan out your trip. Very warm welcoming place, great views and just a short bike ride into town down the prom. read more

This hotel is in an fantastic area of town; at the very end of the promenade on a quite street. You walk outside and you're at the beach! The room I stayed in had been recently updated and was very nice. The building is old, so don't expect a brand spanking new place. Instead expect a place with character, charm, a great bed, and nicely updated furnishings. It was clean (good carpet!) with friendly staff. I ended up leaving a pair of shoes here and they were nice enough to mail them back to me at no cost. I'm definitely going to stay at Tradewinds again. read more

If my reviews are checked, we see that I use 5 stars sparingly. There has to be something very special, very noteworthy to receive 5 stars from me, and The Tradewinds Condo Hotel deserves high praise for the very helpful and accommodating staff, for the quality of lodging, for the delightful atmosphere that is clearly a product of shared effort, and for the peace and comfort of a very cozy and quiet room. In early February, my wife and I enjoyed Room 204, which faces the Promenade and the distant beach; however, there is very little vehicular activity so there was no traffic noise. I slept soundly, which is a rarity while we're on the road. Pets are permitted in some rooms at a $20 per night additional fee. We fully intend to return because we appreciated this visit. The room was cozy, clean and tastefully furnished. WiFi is available without charge. I would heartily recommend this as an escape for couples, for a weekend's change of scenery, and for a quiet escape from the city. read more

This review is for a specific room and not the motel overall, which I think is great. We stayed in 207; 2 bedroom unit. Chose this space because we brought my elderly mother along for the trip and thought it would be nice for her to have her own room. Had stayed at Tradewinds previously in another set of rooms and expected better kitchen facilities than were offered. This changed our eating plans somewhat, which wasn't a bad thing :-) I didn't think the pix and description on the website really revealed how small the stove top is (2 small burners very close together and right next to a small sink (like something you'd find in an RV/boat). The fridge is small and no freezer. There is a microwave and a larger size toaster oven to use for cooking. Pots, pans, utensils and plates etc. are available/plentiful; as is a coffee pot. The room(s) are simple, nicely furnished and well kept; there is a small flatscreen TV, bring your own dvds. In the communal area (kitchen/living room) there is one larger window that looks out onto the parking lot and the stairs going up to the 2nd floor. It's true you can get a peek of the ocean; but it's definitely not your primary view. To me the room doesn't get a lof of outdoor light on a sunny day, but who's stays inside on a sunny day? My elderly Mom who is slowing way down and I shoulda got an ocean view room so she could of enjoyed it without having to walk too much. Each bedroom of which there are 2 are comfortable; the double mattress I slept on was soft (I like a harder mattress), but I slept okay. Each room has a window. There is a nice little sitting area out back of the motel which is somewhat protected and catches the sun. Enjoyed sitting there reading; beware it's also the smoking area, ( there were none during out time spent reading in the sun). It's an easy walk to town and of course the beach. Overall it's quiet, especially in the evenings and a pleasant place to stay. We dined in Gearheart and Pacific Way Cafe; had a great lunch there and I would highly recommend it. Also enjoyed their coffee and pastries in the morning; YUMMY. The staff were nice, efficient and helpful. I won't stay in 207 again as I realize it doesn't meet my needs , but will stay at the Tradewinds. 207 is a great room for families, those needing a larger space and who spend a lot of their time out of doors. read more

Doesn't look much from the outside and we were very hesitant at first, check in was a breeze and we headed up to our room and was stunned! The room is very cozy, nice bed and TV with all the amenities you need like microwave, fridge, toaster, oven, coffee pot and wifi. Room smelt good and very clean which is a huge plus, the staff was very sweet to give us a bottle of apple cider and a treat for our pooch Buxton on our anniversary. A very personal touch! The Pom isn't far of a walk about 1/2 a mile and just right across the street from the beach. The Condo has its own parking lot and since it doesn't have a pool we were given passes to the local swim center for free. We stayed in room 208, although we can't see the beach from our room, we can still hear the waves crashing, awesome! We are very impressed with Tradewinds Condo that we'll be sure to come back again soon, thank you so much! read more
