It's a charming old house that's been beautifully renovated into a barber shop, with different stalls that each have their own personality and walking in truly feels like stepping back in time. My husband and I were visiting Reno and staying across the street at the Peppermill and this place came highly recommended--and now we know why. I used to come to Town Barbers for a few visits and saw both Andy and Jake for haircuts. Andy was awesome, very friendly and passionate about giving a great haircut. The shop is pretty easy to locate off Apple Street in Reno with a convenient lot located by the shop. Please keep in mind that you really need to make an appointment beforehand and you always need to make sure that you are on time for your appointment. I was late to my last appointment with Jake without calling to update him (which was, admittedly, my fault) and though he accomodated me, he was angry and disgruntled about having to stay late as well as for my being late to the appointment. It upset me so much that I stopped coming here, but even though I made a mistake with my appointment, the haircuts and shaves here are top notch. Each barber's cubby has a fun atmosphere with their interests and treasures displayed throughout their areas. For a great haircut or shave, I recommend Jake and Andy highly! read more

I stopped by The Town Barbers in the late morning about a week and a half ago to book an appointment with a specific barber, only to find out he no longer worked there. I was then referred to another barber who introduced himself as "Jake." I asked if I could schedule two appointments for Friday, February 7th, and he confirmed, mentioning that he was available until 5 P.M. We agreed on 4:00 and 4:30 P.M., and he wrote down my and my son's names and phone number in his planner. He also handed me a business card with the appointment details, where his full name was listed as Jake Pomi. Fast forward to today, February 7th--we arrived at 3:40 P.M. only to find the parking lot chained up and the security door locked. I called multiple times, but no one answered, and there was no voicemail. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, we waited until 4:10 P.M., but "Jake" was a complete no-show. No call, no explanation. Jake flaked. On a sunny Friday afternoon, it seems he ditched us for Happy Hour instead of honoring his commitment. Barbers who work by appointment usually dislike being stood up--well, as a businessman, I resent when commitments aren't honored. This place should be renamed "The Out of Town Barbers." And if this is their work ethic, they might soon become "The Out of Business Barbers." read more

The town barbers was great, easy to find, conveniently located, and everyone was very friendly. Arrived a few minutia early for my appointment with Jake Polson. I needed a shave as I had not been able to shave for a while and a regular razor wouldn't cut it. Jake gave me a great shave and was super nice and friendly. An overall great experience. I asked for a med low fade with a zero on the bottom and just a trim on top pic 1 is what I ended with and pic two is what I said in detail what I want. This is the worst cut I've received ever!!!! And even after I told him this is nothing if what i asked for he still changed me 35$ for Fing up my hair. This is the best barbershop in town. Why would you go anywhere else? I have been going to Tony for 27 years. The vibe of the entire shop is like family. Prices are reasonable and the cuts are sharp. Just moved back to Reno and was searching for a good barber, I am very particular with my hair and get it cut every two weeks so the barber has to be good. I rang the doorbell and waited at the door facing the parking lot for a couple minutes before looking for a second door. Once I found the correct door I went in and was told he wouldn't take me since I was a couple minutes late. Thought he was joking, told him I was waiting at the wrong door. He said "don't matter, want to reschedule?" Not a chance I'd give you my business after that.
