The food here is truly terrible, and the service is atrocious, all for a hefty price tag!
Monday evening about 7:30. Restaurant was not busy, one large table with about 10 people, one table with 2 ladies, one table with a single gentleman, one table with an older couple.
I ordered a champagne drink and a large bottle of sparkling water. She brought both, the water bottle was about the same size as a bottle of wine. She left the drink and the bottle of water: unopened, un-poured and walked away. The second set of silverware, extra glasses, etc. were left on the table.
She finally came back to take my food order about 20 minutes later; a bowl of olives to munch on, chicken tikka skewers. I asked "What are the seasonal vegetables?" "The vegetables?" and she begins to write it down, so I need to say, "no, I want to know what the seasonal vegetables ARE." She doesn't know, needs to check, comes back quickly and I decide on them.
5 minutes later olives show up...they are green olives with pimentos and black olives from a can...gross.
Someone comes and takes all of the unused glasses off the table but not the extra place-setting.
10 minutes later, my drink has been gone for a long time, different waiter comes near and I flag him down and ask for the drink menu/wine list so I can order another drink. He brings it promptly, but...
15 minutes later a different server brings my food out, I notice that his thumb is inside the bowl and touching my vegetables (GAG!). Everything is tepid at best, certainly not hot. Still no sign of my waitress to take my drink order.
About 10 minutes later after I am OBVIOUSLY looking all over trying to make eye contact with someone, my waitress comes over. I ask her for a bottle of wine, she repeats, "a bottle?", "yes" (the wine I ordered only came by the bottle). She walks away and then turns and comes back and asks me, "Do you want a glass or just the bottle?" I'm getting annoyed at this point and say rather shortly, "I want to order the bottle but I need a glass to drink it out of..."
The chicken was a minuscule serving, didn't taste very good, was dried out and had what looked like hairs on it, I'm praying it was from a basting brush. The veg was cooked ok but had literally no seasoning (no butter, no herbs, looked like someone had shaken a tiny bit of salt on it after it had been sitting as I could see grains on the side of the dish). I avoided the veg that had potentially been touched by the fingers so couldn't eat all of it (again praying that it was the only place he had touched, but I know better). read more
