Service was beyond horrendous! Had to ask several times for refills and every time we needed something the server was nowhere to be found for what felt like an eternity. Prolly 4/5 minutes in reality. When you're waiting to eat your food it feels like forever lol. It was a late Sunday afternoon and not busy either. The food was good but nothing worth what we paid! $145 w-tip plus some astronomical service fee for using a card instead of cash. If you want the luxury of accepting cards, you should be responsible for the fees. I'm over going places that charge me just to pay them. Either be a cash only establishment or don't charge fees for using cards! Bloody Mary was fire though! Atmosphere is cute and aesthetically pleasing but just really not worth the price. I think this might be one of the most overrated restaurants in the area. But there's not many seafood choices so I guess do with this review what you will! Be warned slow service and take cash. read more

This morning we had brunch at Tin Fish in Newburgh. We've been there several times for dinner, but never realized they have a separate brunch menu for Sunday brunch (10:00 am - 2:00 pm). We were pleased to see that for brunch they have table service, rather than their usual order at the counter then they bring it to your table service. The menu had many things we wanted to try, but we finally decided on the crab cake benedict and the seafood pizza. The crab cake benedict was a split English muffin with each half topped with a crab cake, poached egg, and hollandaise. Everything about it was perfect. It's hard to find places that perfectly poach eggs - even most breakfast places around here don't often get it right. Tin Fish does! The crab cakes were very good and the hollandaise was as luscious and tangy as you want it to be. The seafood pizza was also delicious. I was surprised that it came with macaroni and cheese (the menu just says freshly crafted side, so maybe it changes), but I never mind getting unexpected pasta The pizza was very cheesy and had a generous amount seafood. I highly recommend squeezing the lemon slice that comes with it over the pizza. If I'm being picky, I felt the pizza could have benefitted from a touch of sherry in the sauce and maybe some capers or a drizzle of balsamic glaze as a bit of contrast to the very rich pizza toppings. But it was quite good as served and I had no trouble eating almost all of it - it's also a generous portion. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. In fact, we were sad that they don't offer that menu aside from brunch. They honestly could open another restaurant with just that menu and probably do very well. This was an excellent find! The fish and chips are fantastic! Lightly breaded and fries white fish with the perfect layer of breading. I subbed onion rings for fries and that was a perfect fit! Onion rings are made in house and perfectly crispy as well without the excess breading. The service was friendly and the food was delivered quickly as well. Perfect portions for a weekday lunch! This place is about the best place for seafood in the area. I like the tacos and calamari. The food quality is pretty consistent. The only thing I don't like is the way you order. You order at the counter. So, on a Saturday night if you have someone who's slow in ordering, the line can quickly back up to the door. They need to work on that. I don't go to Newburgh very often, but this was a pretty cool place for all things seafood! You order up at front and the servers will bring the food to you when it's ready. I ordered the fish sandwich platter, which comes with waffle fries and cole slaw sides. The sandwich itself was very tasty, but the ratio of fish to bread could be better. The bread fell apart pretty quickly, which made the sandwich a little hard to eat at times. Regardless of that, I really did enjoy this restaurant! Staff was very friendly and the ambiance of the location was nice too. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu in the future! read more

Brunch! Beautiful sunny March day to sit on patio and enjoy the new DELICIOUS Sunday brunch menu at Tin Fish. We stopped in with our dog after a long walk at Friedman Park and it was just delicious. We sampled the House herbed biscuits accompanied with a trio of honey butter, habanero jam and Bonne Maman preserves --the 3 large biscuits -served in a basket were warm and the trio a nice assortment to enjoy on them. We needed twice the amount of jam and preserves to spread on the biscuits and hope they add a bit more next time. We also had the New Yorker biscuit sandwich --which featured a tasty homemade sausage and town butter sage gravy -- But -the brunch showstopper was the Croque Madame! Not only a beautiful presentation --but the flavor profile was everything you could want in a memorable brunch dish. Sourdough covered in perfectly melted and broiled Swiss, ham and bechamel with a sunny egg on top. We will be back next Sunday for an order of 2 of the Croque Madames. read more

We stopped at this restaurant during our trip out to the Midwest. They were a life-saver, as we needed a good solid dinner without having to pay too much or spend too much time waiting for our meal. Our order included the calamari appetizer, and Walleye, Orange Roughy, and Tilapia platters. The food was superior- fresh, tasty, and splendidly hit the spot. We were all satisfied with how delicious the meal was, and how accommodating the staff was in preparing our meal and having it ready right before they closed. So far, 5 Stars, right? The downside of this wonderful establishment is that the menu seems to be limited in its selection of sides- you pretty much have a choice of fried sides or a salad. I thought being in the Heartland, they would at least offer potatoes, or vegetable medley or a serving of corn. Additionally, I had my meal and part of an appetizer, and a drink, and still didn't feel quite full. Portions were not small, but they weren't large either. I would eat here again and again if I lived in this area, but it would be nice if they had a larger and more diverse menu with expanded sides, and maybe slightly less fried plates. Again, five stars for service and quality of food. Four stars overall. We'll hopefully be back some day! read more

Love Tin Fish. I love their new location on Sharon Rd and the way they've used the space. It's beautiful. Staff is always absolutely fantastic. It's nice to order at the counter as soon as you arrive, so you're not waiting to be greeted and served drinks and then apps and then get to order dinner. My only complaint is that while I love, love, LOVE that they've added cauliflower as an option to their entrees, there aren't a lot of options for vegetarians besides sides. The cauliflower is great, and very appreciated, but my family could eat Tin Fish every night and Mom can only eat so much cauliflower! read more

Wow! Food was phenomenal and everyone was very friendly and accommodating with our 3 young kiddos (5, 3, and 1 year old).

Gotta love Tin Fish! Been coming here since it opened with my friends and family and it's always amazing. The food is always delicious and the place is always clean. I admit that I miss the old location because of the nostalgia but the newer one has a beautiful modern look that you can't go wrong with. Stopped in for brunch on Sunday because we've had other things here and really enjoyed them. We had the shrimp and grits and the crab cake Benedict. Just a heads up, the descriptions are woefully brief and incomplete in the menu. The shrimp and grits is somewhat New Orleans style with mushrooms in a rue and four large shrimp. No peppers, chives, gravy or heat of any kind. Also, it was $14 for a small bowl. The crab cakes had good flavor but are more Maryland style and not lump crab cakes. Won't be coming back for brunch, but maybe some mahi tacos later. read more
