    Brunch menu

This morning we had brunch at Tin Fish in Newburgh. We've been there several times for dinner, but never realized they have a separate brunch menu for Sunday brunch (10:00 am - 2:00 pm). We were pleased to see that for brunch they have table service, rather than their usual order at the counter then they bring it to your table service. The menu had many things we wanted to try, but we finally decided on the crab cake benedict and the seafood pizza. The crab cake benedict was a split English muffin with each half topped with a crab cake, poached egg, and hollandaise. Everything about it was perfect. It's hard to find places that perfectly poach eggs - even most breakfast places around here don't often get it right. Tin Fish does! The crab cakes were very good and the hollandaise was as luscious and tangy as you want it to be. The seafood pizza was also delicious. I was surprised that it came with macaroni and cheese (the menu just says freshly crafted side, so maybe it changes), but I never mind getting unexpected pasta The pizza was very cheesy and had a generous amount seafood. I highly recommend squeezing the lemon slice that comes with it over the pizza. If I'm being picky, I felt the pizza could have benefitted from a touch of sherry in the sauce and maybe some capers or a drizzle of balsamic glaze as a bit of contrast to the very rich pizza toppings. But it was quite good as served and I had no trouble eating almost all of it - it's also a generous portion. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. In fact, we were sad that they don't offer that menu aside from brunch. They honestly could open another restaurant with just that menu and probably do very well. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

This was an excellent find! The fish and chips are fantastic! Lightly breaded and fries white fish with the perfect layer of breading. I subbed onion rings for fries and that was a perfect fit! Onion rings are made in house and perfectly crispy as well without the excess breading. The service was friendly and the food was delivered quickly as well. Perfect portions for a weekday lunch! Highly recommended!

This place is about the best place for seafood in the area. I like the tacos and calamari. The food quality is pretty consistent. The only thing I don't like is the way you order. You order at the counter. So, on a Saturday night if you have someone who's slow in ordering, the line can quickly back up to the door. They need to work on that. Food is good and outside seating is nice if it's a nice evening.

I don't go to Newburgh very often, but this was a pretty cool place for all things seafood! You order up at front and the servers will bring the food to you when it's ready. I ordered the fish sandwich platter, which comes with waffle fries and cole slaw sides. The sandwich itself was very tasty, but the ratio of fish to bread could be better. The bread fell apart pretty quickly, which made the sandwich a little hard to eat at times. Regardless of that, I really did enjoy this restaurant! Staff was very friendly and the ambiance of the location was nice too. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu in the future!

    Sunday Brunch menu - Tin Fish - March 2021 - 10am-2pm brunch --

Brunch! Beautiful sunny March day to sit on patio and enjoy the new DELICIOUS Sunday brunch menu at Tin Fish. We stopped in with our dog after a long walk at Friedman Park and it was just delicious. We sampled the House herbed biscuits accompanied with a trio of honey butter, habanero jam and Bonne Maman preserves --the 3 large biscuits -served in a basket were warm and the trio a nice assortment to enjoy on them. We needed twice the amount of jam and preserves to spread on the biscuits and hope they add a bit more next time. We also had the New Yorker biscuit sandwich --which featured a tasty homemade sausage and town butter sage gravy -- But -the brunch showstopper was the Croque Madame! Not only a beautiful presentation --but the flavor profile was everything you could want in a memorable brunch dish. Sourdough covered in perfectly melted and broiled Swiss, ham and bechamel with a sunny egg on top. We will be back next Sunday for an order of 2 of the Croque Madames.

The restaurant consists of three floors, all decorated amazingly. We were seated in the basement area and had a wonderful server named Jordan. We started off with drinks. I had a non-alcoholic strawberry garden fizz, my husband had a tequila old fashioned, and our son had a Shirley Temple. For an appetizer we shared the Maine Lobster Caprese. Next we ordered the Nando wedge and French onion soup. For our entrees we enjoyed the Maine Diver Scallop Bucatini, Agrodolce Wild Duck Breast, and our son had sides of macaroni and cheese and Parmesan Truffle Pommes Frites. While we were absolutely full after these courses and had parts of our meal boxed to go, our son insisted he had an extra stomach for dessert. We ordered the Lemon Tart and Creme Brulee. We had the bourbon soaked cherries that came with the crème brulee put on the side. The menu selections, the ambiance, the staff, and especially the food were all amazing. We can't wait to come back with other family and friends. *I did forget to snap a few pictures of some of our dishes.

They have a wide range of seafood dishes and land based selections, as well. Our server was very polite and kept our drinks full throughout our visit. For our appetizer, we tried the crab cakes, and we were not disappointed. My date ordered the bone-in pork chop with roasted potatoes and broccoli. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The roasted potatoes were cooked to perfection and tasty. I ordered the scallops florentine butterfish special for Mother's Day with a side of kung pao brussels sprouts and broccoli. My date and I both agreed that the broccoli left us disappointed, as it was bland and not seasoned (as we have found at most restaurants). My fish and scallops were tender and fresh. The kung pao Brussels sprouts were flavorful and had a nice caramelization. It's definitely a great date night spot!

I've been to various locations and can always count on a solid meal, so you now have a loyal customer! Service is always stellar, and tonight was no different. My only complaint, if I'm being picky, was that I sat at the bar, and the lighting was so dark I couldn't hardly see my food. I'm all about setting the mood, but it was a little extreme, and I don't recall it being that way at any other location. I had one of the specials, the unicorn fish and that was my first time ever trying that particular species. It came with a diablo sauce that had just enough spice, rice and perfectly cooked asparagus. I was offered bread and dessert and even a drink Togo and enjoyed chatting with the bartender. He also told me about a social bourbon dinner that was coming up and gave me the menu for it. Unfortunately I am just passing through but it looked like something I would totally attend.
