I purchased $3642 (before the contractor discount )worth of mosaic tile in April 2023 for a kitchen remodel. It was being used for my backsplash. The salesman, Tyrone Hearing told my contractor and myself that if we had any left over we could always return it. He encouraged us to get an extra box. Each box contains 10 tiles at the cost of nearly $100 a square foot. As it's not uncommon, I ran into delays in my remodeling project because of my cabinets. That pushed my installation till July. When I attempted to return a box and a half to the store for a refund, they refused to accept it because they said it was past the two month deadline. I understand store, policies; but anyone should make exceptions for construction delays. Now I'm stuck with the expensive tile that I have to try and sell for much less than the price I paid!! I also like that you can schedule for a free design consultation if needed when trying to mix and match. After having numerous experience with the local big box home improvement stores with unhelpful associates I was super happy to have such a good experience here. I have bought tile from the tile shop multiple times for two bathrooms and a laundry room. I've always had a good experience until the last one . I bought two types of tile for a bathroom walls, shower ,and the floor was different I also bought a niche. I gave the measurements to the salesman to get the quantity. The salesman flipped the numbers gave me to much tile for the floor and not enough tile for the walls . I bought the tile year earlier. The manager would not return the tile or give me a credit even though they still sell the tile . The niche was to big also and they have the exact same one but wouldn't return either. I emailed the manager to take the sales commission out of my return. They wouldn't take the tile or the niche back. Roger T read more

I wouldn't recommend the Tile Shop in Farmington at all. At first, my experience was very pleasant. I found the tile I had been searching for and they said I could have it in less than a week. The tile arrived and we picked it up. They said it was inspected and ready to go! So exciting!! So, I tore my bathroom apart, took up the tile, took out the toilet, and started prepping for installation. Once I was ready to install, I started opening the boxes of tile... to my dismay, each and every piece of tile had glue all over it. Not just a little bit of glue that comes off with a mud knife or soapy water, but smeared glue that takes a special kind of cleaner to remove. On top of that, at least 10 of the tiles were stuck together. I couldn't even get them apart. Needless to say, I was frustrated. So, I decided to contact them via the methods I could find (email and Facebook - they were closed over the holiday weekend). I got an email back from the sales associate basically saying it happens and I can just purchase the product to remove it. HA! that's cute. So now I am expected to purchase a new product that removes the glue on top of the tile purchase AND remove the glue from each individual tile. I had no idea I was buying tile and also a new side-project. Luckily, Mike gave me the glue remover for free -- however, I will be without a bathroom all week because of this. AND I will have to remove the glue from each individual tile. Just don't waste your time with them. The $100 you save going to them will add up big time in the long run. read more

Came in to purchase tile for a new construction 5000 sw ft home. After being there for 30 minutes and workers just chatting at the counter and not offering assistance I left and went to tile shop and spent $32,000 much nicer tile and great customer service read more

This shop has beautiful tile and very reasonable prices however the staff was so awful I don't see myself going back there. I went there to pick out some tile for my kitchen and was greeted by various staff members. I would say there were about 4 other people in the store at the time and the staff that was helping me was very knowledgeable. I had asked for pricing on three different tiles and the lady helping us said she would go in the back to get pricing. 20 minutes later when we located her again she was helping two other customers who she said she needed to help before us. I don't understand why she needed to help them right in the middle of helping us but there were three other employees standing there not assisting anyone at which point the lady told us she would need to have someone else help us and passed us off. Now its been 30 minutes because we had to go back and show the new employee the tiles we were interested in just for him to say he needed to go get pricing. The manager walked up to where we were but did not offer to help and went to talk to another customer that walked in. Its a shame that this place has awful customer service because they have a good product. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Not a great impression. I came in to get some grout for my shower. I had removed some grout and caulk and needed to re-grout and wasn't sure if I needed to re-caulk the corners. I had some questions about what I needed to do to fix it. Thought a tile place might be able to give me some suggestions or insight. My mistake. Young sales person was not interested in selling me grout. After she told me to call my contractor the third time (if I had one I wouldn't have had questions), I realized she wasn't interested in talking to me about my shower fix. Back to Home Depot I go. read more

I worked with one nice associate, Tyrone - he's great, and not a reflection of my poor experience. When I came in to pick up edge pieces that took nearly 2 months to arrive - I worked with a very bitter associate, Adam. He broke 2 of the pieces and still tried to charge me for cuts that I had been told would be free. When I said I wouldn't pay for the cuts, he snatched the tile away and said "Then you can't have these." Will never return to this location again. I tried to call and report him to a manager and was put on hold for over 12 minutes before hanging up. So, now my review will just have to sit here on the internet instead of being dealt with like adults. read more

Our last order was screwed up & we were not properly compensated for YOUR screw-up! We were told the order would be in on Tuesday 1/24. We were also sent an email saying it was in. Our contractor (lives in Milford/Highland area) went to pick up the order on Friday the 27th & was then told the base wasn't there. Why was this order not checked? Why were we not aware the base was missing until the day our contractor drove all the way over there to pick it up, several days AFTER it was all supposedly in? Then a worker goes over there on Monday to get the base (from our house in Waterford) & it showed the base was returned & refunded. He came back empty handed except for a sealer we needed. So all we get for this aggravation is a lousy $60 credit & the contractor had to make ANOTHER trip all the way back to Farmington Hills to pick up the base. THREE trips! He charged us an extra $100 for the extra two trips that were made to pick up this base that should have been there on the first trip! We'll never do business here again. You'd be the last place we'd tell anyone to go to. read more
