I'm not renewing my membership and here is my letter to them explaining why: Just some feedback from someone who really liked the Fillaseat business model. I was able to see some quality shows (Kalita Humphries at SMU and shows at the Annette Strauss pavilion). But, this year, when I've looked at your site I've seen nothing of real interest. What gives? Is anyone really working the Metroplex area to fill empty seats? Or are you just filling your pocketbooks on promises of concerts and events that never make it to your website? I guess the last sentence was a little much......no hard feelings....but no hard cash from me, either. Thanks.....for..................

I received tickets to the House of Blues from FillASeat for a recent Molly Ringwalds (80s cover band) concert and mentioned that in my review of the House of Blues thinking that I was reinforcing my positive comments in the thread above. Apparently, FillASeat did not agree, as I received the following email from them today: "We have a Major problem with a review you posted on Yelp. The house of blues ( live nation) Has contacted us that they are very upset you broke the rules by listed you got free tickets from us to their event. This breaks the agreement you made when becoming a member. We have deactivated your account till you remove the post. Please remove the post right away. It look us 2 years to get the HOB to let our Dallas members in and now we risk losing them. Also it shows you have an Austin address in the system. Are you a DFW resident as well? Please help us make this right and keep our relationship. Management Team Dallas FillASeat" My response: "I did not realize I had broken the agreement I made when becoming a FillASeat Dallas member. My mistake, do what you feel is right. Your "Major problem" has been corrected, as I have edited out the comment from my Yelp review of the House of Blues (Live Nation) that mentioned I had received free tickets for the event from FillASeat Dallas. As an FYI, the only reason I had put that line in was to reinforce my posts in defense of FillASeat Dallas on the Dallas Yelp Talk threads; there was a thread a while ago in which a number of Yelpers stated that there is no visible value of being a FillASeat member and I had posted in that thread that I had received value in the past from the membership. Apparently, I had valued FillASeat to a greater extent than you value my membership. Feel free to keep my account deactivated and discontinue my membership permanently. I was a member of FillASeat Austin until I moved from Austin to Dallas on January 18, 2013. Apparently, your record keeping is in line with the accusatory tone you take with members. Well done. You are now in a position to make your relationship with HOB right, so congratulations. I'm sure in the scheme of things losing one little Yelper versus keeping your 2 years-in-the-making relationship with a venue that has more to worry about than letting people know that they are one of the reasons to purchase a FillASeat Dallas membership is a great trade-off. I'm also sure you won't mind my updating my fellow Yelpers on "Chapter 2" of my FillASeat Dallas experience. Regards, Rob"

Purchasing tickets online was simple and let me choose the exact date and time I wanted to visit. Check in was quick with the email confirmation. The museum itself was very clean and I constantly saw employees wiping down and tidying exhibits. Some of the illusions were tricky to figure out at first, but the placards on the walls explained everything really well. The staff was also super helpful and happy to show guests the best angles for photos. Emma was especially amazing at helping frame pictures and making sure we got good shots inside the exhibits. One exhibit featured a spinning tunnel that was tough for me because of equilibrium issues, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to motion effects. This is a quick and entertaining side quest while downtown. It took us about an hour and fifteen minutes to experience everything.Theres no rush and you move at your own pace. I would definitely come back again.

Employees were very attentive when asking if we wanted to get a photo, which is great. There was even one employee who was cleaning one of the mirror illusions, but stopped and took the time to explain how the illusion worked for us. I wish I had gotten his name, because he was an awesome employee. My main gripe, as stated previously, was that the museum was smaller than we thought. It took us 30 minutes to get through all the illusions, and for the price point to enter, just didn't seem worth it in comparison. I'm glad I went, I just probably won't go back for a while. I did get some nice photos.

I had a 3-star experience but have empathy for people who had 1-star experiences and am going to…read moresay that the execution and attention to customer experience on the venue's part are such that the worse experiences are to be expected here. First, I think it's very predatory to charge as much as they do for things at the bar. $13 for a can of Dos Equis? $8 for a La Croix? $7 for a bottle of water? Say what you want about scarcity and economics but this is just a miserable way to treat people. Pregame, bring a flask, do whatever you have to do. Cocktails are $18 and served in a small plastic cup and are mostly ice. Just unbelievably bad value there. The Aoki show had an absolutely miserable parking and traffic management situation. Abysmal. But the worst was the complete lack of line management. The line wrapped all the way around the building. It was raining. There was no covering of any sort so anyone who was standing in line was just getting soaked. What if it had started completely pouring? Again just a terrible lack of planning or concern for the customer experience. And it WAS pouring a little before we got there. Why wouldn't they have something figured out for this? You don't care if your patrons are standing out in the rain? They did not have anyone monitoring the line. It would have moved much faster if someone had been walking the line reminding people to have their IDs and tickets at the ready. Furthermore, there were actually 2 lines, and one of them was wrapped around the building while the other was right next to it and at one point was being fed by the same wraparound but then started to have people bypassing the long line and walking straight up. Staff had no signage and no way to make this clear. If anyone who works here ever bothered to attend a concert like a regular patron does, they would probably see these things pretty easily. Once inside we did not have any problems but I avoided getting ripped off at the bar and went upstairs where it was less crowded. It would be nice to have some venues that care a little bit more.
